Made from dark and light brown softened cow leather with vintage gold matching hardware, every inch of this Equestrian set was designed as a cohesive visual. A lamb leather lining, on the interior of the collar, adds even more functionality, making it more comfortable for the wearer.
The collar is adjustable via a “standard” (it doesn’t look standard, but it functions that way!) belt buckle on the backside of this BDSM collar. It can adjust between a circumference of 14.3″ to 17.7″.
The leash handle is about 7.5″ in length with a chain that’s about 31″. It’s a leash designed to put a bit of space in between the two of you, if you’d like.
The Quality

The question is: does the quality match the price tag – and will it last that long?
My answer is a resounding “yes”.
The quality here is impeccable. I genuinely can’t find a single thread out of place; none of the threads even waver in their straightness.
The metal hardware is all perfectly painted; there isn’t a fleck of missing or scratched-off paint.
Keeping that metal hardware in place are perfectly placed, sturdy rivets. The hardware has the correct amount of wiggle; not too much but enough to ensure the collar can be used. The loop holding the front O-ring in place even seems to be sewn between the collar’s leather layers itself.
The internal layer – that rests against the wearer’s neck – is lightly padded with zero metal hardware. This padded layer protects the wearer’s skin from any itchiness or irritation from the backside of rivets; another sign of a high-end, quality collar.
Realistically, after handling this collar for my Liebe Seele Equestrian Leather Collar and Leash Review, I think the biggest change you’ll see over the lifetime of the collar is changes in the padded internal layer. With enough use and pressure from using the collar, the internal padding will likely start to form to your partner’s neck – especially if they have an Adam’s Apple.
I can’t say that’s the worst outcome ever, though. It almost sounds romantic to use a collar so often that it literally molds to the wearer’s neck!

We know the Liebe Seele Equestrian Leather Collar and Leash looks amazing, but looks aren’t all that matter in BDSM. If you have a collar, you probably want to be able to play with that collar too.
Of course, this is Liebe Seele we’re talking about here, and the durability holds up to seriously rough play.
The rivets surrounding the O-Ring hold the O-ring very firmly against the surface of the collar – even when I’ve tried putting my entire body weight into pulling on the collar and leash. It pulls painfully against the back of his neck with my full bodyweight, but the collar holds firm.
For regular – but rough! – play, it holds up just as flawlessly. The padded interior design provides some comfort for the wearer when you’re tugging them around – especially if you’re using this Liebe Seele collar for Pony Play where you might be guiding your partner by this collar.
The belt-style buckle in the back of the collar is ridiculously secure, and we’ve never had any issue with looseness or unfastening – even if we’re using the collar pretty roughly.
The padding combined with multiple layers of leather does mean that the Equestrian Leather Collar has some warmth to it. Especially when wearing it for long play parties (or at a kink conference!), you might find your partner’s neck – and the collar – sweaty after you remove it. The smoothness of the interior panel means that my partner has never been itchy or irritated by the sweatiness – but the sweat does happen.
The one big thing you’ll need to note is the thickness of the O-ring on the front of the collar. While this is a gorgeous choice for a striking, thematic visual, it’s also much, much thicker than average O-rings for play. This means that some of your clips and clamps may not fit onto this collar.
You can easily get around this by using a carabiner as a go-between for the O-ring and your clip of choice, but that’s not, necessarily, an attractive solution that befits the stunning look of this collar. In a pinch, however, it will work, and it will let you enjoy any bondage you had planned.
The Liebe Seele Equestrian Leather Collar features that single O-ring on the front; there are no strap keepers on the back or any additional O-rings on the sides. The O-ring is perfectly placed at the center, designed to be kept at the center point of your captive’s throat.
Let’s be fair, though: while this collar holds up to any play you throw at it, its real appeal is in how it looks.

The leash is fully functional; you can tug on the O-ring on the front of the collar to your heart’s content.
The leash has a unique metal braiding. It gives it more of that “western” look, but the multiple, braided layers of metal don’t bend as easily as your standard chains. This isn’t the end of the world, but if you’re someone who likes to wrap the leash around your wrist, multiple times, to reduce excess slack, that can be painful to do with this Equestrian leash. The braided metal doesn’t bend that easily, and hair and skin can get caught between the layers of the metal, making it relatively unpleasant to wrap around human skin.
However, you’re unlikely to notice any functionality difference with the stylistic braiding unless you’re trying to wrap the leash around skin. When held out at full length, the leash behaves like a standard leash, making it easy to tug your partner and keep them exactly where you want them.
