Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs Review

The two black cuffs lay out on top of white upholstery. A cross-stitch wall is in the background. The cuffs look regal and fancy with their contrasting gold hardware. For my Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs review.

In the market for black and gold bondage gear? Don’t worry; I always am too. The breathtaking pop of gold against the sultry, dark black of cuffs has always been a favorite of mine – which is why I’m so excited to showcase this Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs review. (And they’re budget friendly too!)

Made to fit a variety of wrists, the Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs are adjustable from a circumference of 6.5″ to 10″. They take up about 2.16″-worth of real estate along the wrist. If your wrist falls on the shorter end of this circumference spectrum, it’s worth noting that the Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs do not include a strap catch/keeper, so the excess strap will hang off the cuff.

The included connecting chain is 8.8″ in total length from tip to tip. On my body, with the wrist cuffs clipped into the chain, this puts my wrists relatively close together (like hand cuffs) with my elbows drawn into my body.

Each cuff features a single D-ring fastened to its surface by dual rivets.

These cuffs feature a standard buckle; they do not have a locking buckle.

Both of the cuffs sitting out on a tiled surface. The double-sided clip chain that's included is shown clipped onto both of the cuffs, turning them instantly into handcuffs that can be used right away for bondage. For my Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs review.

The Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs are made from black organosilicone and gold hardware. The set includes the two cuffs themselves as well as a color-matching, short metal chain with two clips to connect the cuffs to each other.

Organosilicone Bondage Gear

The “official” scientific definition says: “Organosilicon compounds are organometallic compounds containing carbon–silicon bonds. Organosilicon compounds are widely encountered in commercial products. Most common are sealants, caulks (sealant), adhesives, and coatings made from silicones.”

You probably don’t really care about what bonds are found in your BDSM gear though. You’re just after the resulting feel. Organosilicone feels like a unique mix between neoprene, silicone, and leather. It’s the coolest feeling material, and I love it in the best of ways.

Imagine neoprene material with its slightly spongy vibe that feels like it’s safe to dunk underneath water. Now imagine that same material with a layer of smooth, silky silicone on top.

This black organosilicone cuff set and its matching spreader bar are probably some of my favorite bondage toys to touch. I’d be lying if we didn’t also shove these in our friends’ faces after kink classes, urging them to touch it. In the world of faux leather options, organosilicone just feels so unique.

Functionality-wise, this unique Organosilicone material also means that your cuffs are easier to spot clean and will tolerate moisture and hot conditions better. I haven’t had them long enough to find out, but I’m also hoping this will reduce the care needed, and I won’t see any chipping/peeling faux leather years down the line.

Oh, and like most faux leather options, the material is also vegan!

The spreader bar is resting on top of a large, floor lamp's lampshade. Its length almost perfectly matches the width of the lampshade. Two cuffs hang off the end of the spreader bar. Image for my Liebe Seele Black Organosilicon Spreader Bar Review.

Using the Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs

We have primarily used these wrist cuffs with their matching spreader bar. After all, if you’re going to have a set, why not put it to good use?

I have absolutely nothing but enthusiastic praise for this pairing. The colors match perfectly, the spreader bar and cuffs are surprisingly lightweight together, and it all does a great job of keeping the wrists spread apart without fatiguing the wearer. It’s pretty much everything I could want in a spreader bar and wrist cuff combo, honestly. (We’ve worn the set to multiple hotel takeover events now, and we’re constantly getting questions about them!)

Close-up of the cuffs. This angle shows the thin dual layer construction, the gold non-locking buckle, the flatten-able D-rings, and the matching gold rivets. It also shows the visible sew lines that are all around the cuffs.

We especially love them for a few specific reasons:

  • They’re lightweight. Their lower price and organosilicone material are noticeably lighter than most of our cuffs. This makes them really comfortable for any longer term play.
  • They clean up easily. The super-smooth organosilicone material is pretty water-friendly and oil-phobic. It lets you wipe up your body oils and make-up with a quick washcloth wipe right after wearing them, and the cuffs look as good as new.
  • They’re comfortable. The organosilicone material doesn’t have any breathability to it. This means it does end up causing some sweating when worn for long periods of time. While we worry about this on our leather cuffs, it’s an afterthought with these. With a super-smooth interior, there’s nothing that gets itchy with sweat, they don’t slide around because they’re so lightweight, and we can clean these up easily after wearing them without fear of harming the material.
  • It matches our lingerie. We have quite a few black and gold lingerie sets. These cuffs match it like they were made for it, and it really can tie together entire outfits for BDSM play parties.
The cuff is rolled into a circle and shown fastened. There's a lot of excess strap hanging off the cuff. The D-ring is shown protruding far away from the cuff, not resting up against the cuff.

My only complaint is the lack of a strap keeper/loop. My submissive has relatively thin wrists. This means that the Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs end up fastening at one of their tightest settings, leaving a lot of extra strap hanging off the side of the cuff. Since the cuff doesn’t have any way to fasten the excess fastening strap back onto the body of the cuff itself, it just hangs out, protruding off the cuff. It’s not my favorite visual. (I hate it.)

The layers of the fastening strap are sewn throughout the strap all the way to the edge of the fastening strap. This means that cutting the strap to a shorter length (if you don’t have wider wrists) will likely cause the threading to prematurely unravel.

Unless you’d take a sewing machine to the Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs to resew the edges after cutting it, you’re mostly stuck with the long excess strap if you have thinner wrists.

The cuff is fastened and my finger shows how the extra strap length and how it works. It shows how the thread is sewn all the way to the edge of the strap and back. So if you try to cut the extra strap length, you'll end up unfurling all of the sewing. For my Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs review.

Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs Review: Durability

It probably won’t come as a surprise that I think these cuffs are probably the least durable cuffs I’ve used from Liebe Seele.

I didn’t expect anything less; at almost 1/3rd the cost of most of their lines, the Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs just simply aren’t as robust as their other luxury offerings.

Don’t get me wrong; there’s nothing that makes me think the Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs are going to tap out on me anytime soon, but they simply don’t have the thickness and sewn-in features that are going to make them resistant to the wear and tear of regular rough BDSM scenes. That’s how you save money on a quality product.

Most notably, the D-ring strap is held onto the ring of the cuff itself by 3 rivets. With the thinner material of the organosilicone and only 3 rivets keeping it fastened to the cuff itself, with lots of pulling and tugging on this D-ring, I think you’ll start to see the cuffs warp or the D-ring pull away from the cuff itself.

The cuff is rolled into a circle and shown fastened. There's a lot of excess strap hanging off the cuff. The D-ring is shown protruding far away from the cuff, not resting up against the cuff.

When you want gorgeous cuffs at a fraction of the cost of most of your options, you simply have to accept that they won’t be as luxury-built as cuffs that cost a whole lot more.

However, Liebe Seele didn’t rest on their haunches on the things that mattered. The backside of the rivets are covered by an additional layer of organosilicone, ensuring your wearer will be comfortable the entire time you own the cuffs. The stitching is immaculate, and I don’t see a thread out of place. All of the gold hardware is beautifully polished, scratch-free, and color-matching throughout the set.

These aren’t the cuffs I’d recommend if you want years of heavy bondage scenes, but I’d have absolutely no qualm recommending them to last you at least a few years of regular play. At this price point, that’s pretty impressive.

A side view of both of the cuffs. The left cuff is fastened as tight as it will go and the right cuff is fastened as loose as it will go. There's a large circumference difference between the two cuffs. For my Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs review.

There’s a Whole Dark Candy Collection!

Love matching gear? I’m about to make your day then.

The Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs are part of a large, matching collection of gear. I already reviewed the Spreader bar here (spoiler: loved it!), but you can also pair these wrist cuffs with the matching collar, ball gag, ankle cuffs, and more.

(If you’re in love with the idea of organosilicone but black and gold isn’t for you, the entire collection is also available in a peachy pink-and-silver combination as well! It’s the same design and functionality but in a different color!)

Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs Review: Video

Prefer to see things being moved around by my hands while I gush enthusiastically over the material?

My Liebe Seele Unboxing video is the place to be! Since this is the first time I felt the organosilicone material, you can also hear exactly how excited and impressed I was by the material. Seriously, I spent awhile after the video just petting the cuffs and spreader bar!

To make it as easy as possible, I’ve started this video exactly where the Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs appear, but go forward a bit if you want to see the matching spreader bar that goes with it.

Summary

The Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs are (almost) everything I could want in a pair of budget-friendly cuffs. They’re lightweight, absolutely gorgeous, easy to clean, and even include their own connecting chain to ensure you can start playing with them in seconds.

My only complaint is about the lack of a strap to contain the excess strap material when you’ve fastened these organosilicone wrist cuffs down to its smaller circumferences.

If you’re looking for well-made, budget-friendly cuffs that look way more expensive than they actually are, I recommend the Liebe Seele Dark Candy Cuffs wholeheartedly.
