What a fun piece of bondage gear! Today, in my Liebe Seele Punishing Harness review, you’re going to see an innovative, playful way to cause pain to the harness wearer. Honestly, it’s a blast!

See, the Liebe Seele Punishing Harness is a circular harness that can be worn anywhere on the body that’s cylinder-shaped. The waist, hips, or a thigh will all probably be common spots.

Pulling that harness tightly around the body pulls the six built-in elastic strings tight on the harness. These elastic strings rest against the skin. At any point, anyone can pull one of these elastic strings away from the wearer’s body, and when the person lets go, the elastic string “snaps” back to where it was, causing a stingy “ouch” on the wearer as it does.

It’s, essentially, the kinky, adult equivalent of snapping someone’s bra strap!

This Punishing Rubber Band harness is made from top-grain leather while the “rubber bands” are made from elastic.

And let me tell you, it’s lots of fun. Let’s get into this Liebe Seele Punishing Harness review.

What Size Does It Fit?

Really, the Punishing Harness can be worn anywhere you can wrap and fasten a 32″ harness around.

This makes it suitable for body use for some “straight” sized individuals, with a wider use range if you’re going to use it around a thigh. It won’t fit the waist or hips of a plus-sized individual unless you craft or purchase an extender for the buckle (which is very doable! The buckle is 1.25″ in width with gold colored hardware. The leather itself is slightly under 1″ in width. It looks like this one would work, but I haven’t tried it.)

If you really wanted it to fit a spot it currently doesn’t fit, you could leather punch additional holes to make the harness narrower or larger. Taking measurements, I’d say you have 1.5″ of extra space to make it narrower and 1″ of extra space (if you pierce the logo) to make it wider.

The harness takes up 6″ of vertical room. It won’t fit short areas like a neck. It needs at least 6″ of vertical clearance. The elastic strands are, well, elastic, though, so you can “fudge” the required height a bit as long as the stiff leather ends aren’t bumping uncomfortably into skin. The leather that holds the elastic strands in place is very firm (to keep the strands in place!), and it doesn’t bend with skin in the same way that collars or other BDSM gear can.

This limited size range is probably the biggest downside I’ve found throughout my Liebe Seele Punishing Harness review period. A maximum size of 32″ just…isn’t very big. If we use a standard American size chart (let’s go with Victoria’s Secret), it might fit the hips of an XXS person, and if worn around the waist, it would only fit someone up to a size Large. If you’re beyond that Large, you’ll be limited to thigh wear or need to modify or buy extenders for your harness. That’s just….really, really limiting.

I’d love to see Liebe Seele offer those extenders or make this harness in multiple sizes. Right now, it feels like the only size they have is “Small”, and it’s the default.

The elastic bands do give you a bit of flexibility on the sizing, though. Since they stretch (and we want them taut), you can squeeze out another couple of inches by simply stretching the elastic bands as you put it on. To be clear, though, on the shots you see on my submissive’s hips, we’re on some of the loosest settings, and he only weighs 145 pounds.

Let’s Talk Use

I freakin’ LOVE this thing! I absolutely love it.

I’m someone who really loves doling out small amounts of pain to anyone who has agreed to it. I’m not necessarily into the pain itself; I love the level of control it represents. I can hurt someone just because I want to, whenever I want to, to whatever level I want to. It’s a level of control I adore.

The Liebe Seele Punishing Harness is pretty much tailor-made for that exact experience.

Your bottom wears the Punishing Harness, and anytime you feel like it, you pull a cord, and it snaps back onto their skin.

In your wake, you leave a very noticeable stinging sensation. My submissive likens it to the snap of a very-well-snapped rubber band. He says it’s much stingier than a bra strap snap, and it’s impossible to ignore. That makes sense. The elastic bands are much smaller in circumference.

Every time I do it, it instantly brings his attention to me, and he says it’s unexpectedly more painful than he thinks it will be every time I do it. He’s a well-behaved pet, but he still pulls away from me (and the sensation) every time I do it. Again, I find this pretty entertaining.

Where you wear it is also really important. We found this most pleasant to wear around the hips, snapping the elastic bands on his butt. His butt felt pleasurably “ouchie”. It hurt, but his brain translated that ouch into a sexual, spanking-like sensation. His thighs were equally enjoyable in a good way, though sliding the elastic bands to snap on the inner thigh made for much larger jumps in his body when I’d snap them.

When we tried wearing it around the waist during our Liebe Seele Punishing Harness review testing period, it wasn’t as good. He says the pain hurt in a not-fun way. The elastic bands being snapped around the front of his torso (like on the stomach) brought on some nausea. He was worried about having the elastic bands snap on the backside because of the proximity to the kidneys – and it just didn’t feel great on his back and spine. He said he’d likely place a soft limit on the Punishing Harness if we could only use it on the waist; it didn’t feel like sexy-pain, and it made him anxious.

This is an important distinction to make, as many people – especially in the US – will be unable to wear it around the hips at its current default size. Waist or thigh use may be the only spots where it will fit.

Through our Liebe Seele Punishing Harness review, we’ve tried to figure out how to best modify the sensations to meet a happy medium between fun and “too much”:

• The wearer can wear the Punishing Harness more loosely. The tighter the harness is, the more the elastic bands cut into the skin. They also snap more forcefully if the harness is tight. Wear the harness on a looser setting to reduce how intense the sensation is.
• Reduce how far you pull the elastic band. The further the elastic band is pulled from the body, the more forcefully it returns back to the body. For less “ouch”, the top can use a lighter hand when pulling the elastic band. A shorter travel distance makes for less rebound for less “snap” on the skin.

Important to note: Because of how this harness sits, if you get the harness tight, it will leave the wearer’s skin looking a bit like a can of biscuits. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing; I think squishy bits pushing through the elastic strands look hot. But if someone is wearing this on an area they’re self-conscious about, this squishy appearance through the elastic bands may make them uncomfortable.

CBT Potential!

Due to medical issues, my submissive and I don’t play much with CBT, but the Punishing Harness could easily be used for it. We set it up that way and everything. It was such a good threat. ;)

Have a penis-owning submissive lie down. For easiest use, an erection, pointed up towards their belly button, will be most efficient. Place the Punishing Harness around the hips/waist, letting the elastic bands criss-cross across the erection. Fasten it behind their back.

Now, you can easily “snap” any one of these elastic bands directly onto the erection. As long as you can keep any resulting ejaculate away from the leather harness itself, you also have an easy-clean CBT toy as well. Elastic bands are pretty easy to wipe up after play.

This really works best if the penis-owner is lying down. If they stand or sit, the penis tends to simply jut out between two of the bands instead of staying at rest underneath all six of them. This might be one of those sex positions where spread-eagle bondage can be really helpful. ;)

Just remember to start this slow. There’s a lot of force behind a snapping elastic band, and you don’t want to actually break the penis.

A Femdom Party Addition?

We haven’t used this at a femdom party, but it’s on my to-do list.

I really love the idea of having a submissive in this Punishing Harness as part of the “dinner service” team. They’ve consented to be “punished” for any mistakes via this harness.

If they make a mistake (or, y’know, don’t make a mistake), any femdom can snap one of the elastic bands on the harness.

The same premise could be used for any type of service experience – whether that’s cocktails at home with just the two of you or someone in an administrative position at a pegging party.

It feels less cumbersome than having to find an impact toy or using a hand to slap bare skin. Instead, the “punishment” option is constantly worn on the submissive’s body, reminding them to do a good job. If they’re a “stellar” employee, you could make up some fun party games. Choosing numbers 1 through 6 could correspond to elastic bands on the harness, meaning the submissive is constantly being snapped in different spots all night.

It sounds like a blast, and it’s currently top of my list for group kinky games.

Durability: Liebe Seele Punishing Harness Review

We spent a lot of time trying to break this as part of our Liebe Seele Punishing Harness review testing. The red marks on his skin are a definite testament to that.

It’s very sturdily made. The structured, reinforced leather panels that hold the elastic bands provide a sturdy grip on the bands. Despite all the times I tried to pull the elastic to its max, the panels held the stringy toys tight. I don’t foresee the leather ripping or tearing; it’s a thicker leather, closer to the thickness of a pants belt than the thinner leathers of some decorative leather gear.

I think time may be your biggest downside here. Over time, elastic and rubber will break down. In five or ten years, some of the elastic bands may be more prone to breakage because their material has simply gotten more brittle with time.

That, or you’re going to get TOO gung-ho with the elastic bands and end up pulling one past its elastic limits. One of the two.

Until that happens, we’ve thrown this one through the ringer, and we don’t seem to be able to pull out the elastic strings, snap them, or tear any part of the leather. It’s very durable.
