Curious about hands-free orgasms from a penis vibrator? Well, you’ve come to the right place with my Hot Octopuss Jett review! Two powerful bullet vibrators equipped with Treble and Bass technology slide into a snug silicone cock ring (built just for them!) to allow for hands-free vibrations anywhere on the shaft.
What is the Hot Octopuss Jett?
The Jett is one of the few name-brand toys that’s still battery-operated. The penis vibrator requires 4 AA batteries; it does not include any. Offloading the battery supply to a handheld remote may have been to keep the costs and weight of the product down for hands-free use. It ends up working well in the end (but we’ll get into more of that later!).
Virtually all of the Jett is made from plastic. The remote is a matte, smooth plastic while the bullet vibrators are a super-shiny, glossy plastic. The bullet vibrator cords feel like standard electronics’ cord with a rubberized cover. The cock ring bullet vibrator harness is made from silicone.
This bullet vibrator cock ring harness offers a slight stretch, but it definitely wants to return to its snuggest, at-rest state as soon as possible. The interior circle has an at-rest measurement of about 3cm exactly. I had it stretched out to an interior circle diameter of 6cm, but I think it would be a pretty uncomfortable fit. But, if needed, it will stretch enough to wrap around the entirety of my hands’ knuckles.
Each bullet vibrator is 2.25″ in length and almost exactly 1″ in diameter. (these are BIG bullets!)
With both of the bullet vibrators in the silicone harness, the entire “get-up” weighs 4oz (1/4th of a pound). This does not include the weight of the remote which is probably irrelevant for hands-free needs.
While the Hot Octopuss Jett has a remote control, it is not a wire-free remote control. The Jett’s remote must be attached, via wires, to the toy in order to use it.
It’s a Two-In-One Sex Toy: Literally
Fully “assembled”, the Hot Octopuss Jett is designed to be strapped onto the penis with two powerful vibrators. But that’s the fun of the Jett: it doesn’t have to be used that way!
Both of the bullet vibrators slide out of the penis-specific, cock ring harness with a little bit of pressure. (They won’t slide out mid-use, but your fingers can definitely make them pop out without too much trouble.)
This means you now have two free-standing bullet vibrators to use anywhere! Use them on other parts of the body, split them between you and a partner, or simply focus both of their use on a partner. The Jett easily transitions between a solo, masturbatory toy to a toy that you both can simultaneously share – or a couple’s toy entirely focused on one person.
If you also find that a single bullet vibrator does the job on the shaft for you, you also can leave one bullet vibrator in the Jett’s harness – and hand-hold the second bullet vibrator somewhere else on the body like up against the perineum. This can help you hit other erogenous zones – especially if you don’t really “need” both bullet vibes on the penis to get the job done.
Not only do you get a penis-focused sex toy, but you have two stand-alone bullet vibrators that can go anywhere (okay, but don’t insert them!). It’s a two-in-one toy.
Hot Octopuss Jett Review: Hands-Free Orgasms? Yes, Actually.
I’ll admit: we weren’t expecting too much out of the Jett. Hopeful? Yes. There aren’t many vibrators on the market that offer this stay-put, penis-focused design. Considering how many people are constantly asking me about hands-free orgasm options for men, it’s weird that the options are so limited.
But out of the gate, the Jett’s design was really looking promising for hands-free play. Two bullet vibrators should be light enough to avoid weighing down the shaft. A really snug cock ring should help keep those two vibes in place. Relocating the battery and extra motorized parts off of the toy itself (and into a remote) should help keep the weight down and functional for staying in place.
And…it does. Honestly and surprisingly, all of the parts of the Jett work together to do exactly what they claim to do. As long as you’re lube-light (more about that below), for us, with a standard penis circumference, the Jett stays in place at the tip. We can let go of it, let the toy do its buzzy business, and it all stays in the same spot without movement.
(The Jett’s cock ring actually gets a bit snug and uncomfortable if we try to use the bullet vibrators at the base. The circumference definitely seems designed for tip use.)
The weight is a little uncomfortably heavy if he’s standing, erection jutting out, with the Jett weighing it down, but for seated and laying play, the Jett’s design is extremely comfortable, and he isn’t even tempted to try to use his hands to alleviate pressure like other toys.
Once it’s in place, though, this snug tightness makes it the perfect fit for hands-free orgasms. It really does hold itself in place, and it lets the intensity of the bullet vibrators do all of the work. As long as he isn’t fresh off another orgasm, we find that the Jett works just fine for hands-free orgasms without much of a struggle.
It did take us a bit to figure out the “ideal” placement of the bullet vibrators to get to that hands-free point though. As noted below about the Treble and Bass technology, each one of the bullet vibrators feels a bit different. We found that we really needed to ensure the “Bass” bullet vibrator was positioned right along the frenulum to draw out those hands-free orgasms, but now that we’ve discovered it, it seems to work like a charm!
Honestly, for the price, we’re pretty impressed with it. The vibrations are surprisingly strong, it stays in place as the manufacturer claims, and it offers two surprisingly thick bullet vibrators that can be enjoyed anywhere external on the body.
(Flaccid use? Yes! The Jett also allows for flaccid use, but it will not likely be hands-free if you’re flaccid. The sleeve is just not snug enough – at least for us. We prefer to hold a bullet vibrator up to the flaccid penis and allow it to get hard if we’re hoping to strap the Jett onto the toy for hands-free use. We’re much, much, much more-fond of flaccid use with the Hot Octopuss Pulse Solo Lux. It works in the same manner whether flaccid or erect – versus the different fit on the Jett depending on hardness.)
Hot Octopuss Jett and some Femdom Control
The Jett pairs itself well with femdom play or orgasm control too. He lays back, I get the remote, and I get to control exactly how it all feels. All the while, I can just put the remote down, the toy still does its thing, and I can do other things to his body or ensure I get some pleasure for myself!
For femdom play, I wish it had better auto-off functionality. If I’m going to be doing some edging and orgasm control, being able to cease all stimulation at the press of a button is important. With the two vibrators and no master switch for the entire toy, both motors each need to be turned off, manually, with the “minus” buttons on the remote.
While we love using it for BDSM scenes and femdom play, this wouldn’t be my first choice if I know I’m going to edge him right to the precipice of orgasm. At some point, I know my inability to turn off both motors in time would end up being the cause of a ruined orgasm.
So while it works for the vast majority of scenes (especially if you want to add some physical stimulation while doing other play!), it needs one extra button on the remote to be the “dream” option for intense orgasm control scenes.
Hot Octopuss Jett Review: Let’s Talk Power and Noise
The “bullet” vibrators in the Jett are not your standard bullet vibrator shape. They remind me more of the old-school egg-shaped vibrators more-so than the standard, super-slim bullet vibrators you see taking over the category today.
This means their thick-ass booties won’t fit into most standard bullet vibrator holes – like if you had one in a strap-on harness, a pegging base cover, a grinder, or a sex furniture piece.
These bullets have some heft to them! We’re very partial to the power in the Bass bullet (more on that below), but the Treble vibrator has quite a bit of power for its surface-level vibrations too.
That power does come with a little bit more noise. Especially with the Bass vibrator, the “buzz” of a vibrator is pretty unmistakable. It can definitely be heard in the same room, and with both of them buzzing, it probably could be heard outside of a closed door in a quiet house. Consider masking with television or music and closing the door for the most discretion possible. All-in-all, though, we’ve definitely played with louder penis strokers.
Hot Octopuss Jett Review: Treble and Bass Technology
The Jett is equipped with “Treble and Bass” technology. This is Hot Octopuss’s fancy, marketing-friendly way of saying “We used two different motors”.
And yes, you can definitely feel a difference. A few of their other toys (like the Kurve, I believe) also use this tech, but it’s never quite as starkly obvious as when you can hold the two separate vibrators in your hands like with the Jett.
One bullet vibrator feels like the type of vibrations I generally avoid: they’re very surface-level, buzzy, and can really be felt on the outermost layer of skin. If I had to use a simile, I’d say that it’s like very lightly touching the pads of your fingertips onto your skin and moving them, back and forth, with the lightest touch.
On the other hand, the other bullet vibrator (the “Bass” vibe) has the deeper, rumbly vibrations that I’m always seeking out. They feel “heavier”, and they feel like they go deeper into the skin with less irritation on the surface. In our metaphor, it’s as if those same fingers now have a bit of pressure behind them to actually push into the skin.
Hot Octopuss provides both different motor types with the Jett to allow you to “build your own pleasure”. Use just one motor for your “standard” vibrator experience, or customize the intensity of both motors, simultaneously, to build the unique frequency that your penis best enjoys.
Because of this design, you actually get a lot of wiggle room to “play” with your Jett – which isn’t something penis sex toys usually get. A penis sex toy usually just is – and you usually just shove it on the dick and get to enjoying. That isn’t, necessarily, the case with the Jett. You get a whole range of different sensations to toy with.
If you want a quick cheat sheet, turning them both up to the maximum is probably going to be the fodder you need for a quick orgasm. That’s what we go to if the end goal is purely “fast as possible orgasm”.
But if you’re looking to really find the right frequency for what you enjoy, you can really toy with your options. We, personally, find that we’re always heavy on the Bass – and light on the Treble – but that’s the cool thing about the Treble and Bass technology; you get to find your sweet spot.
I also love that this technology exists from a “future shopping” standpoint. You have an easy way to explore what frequencies your penis enjoys. Now that you know what type of vibrations are a good fit for your body, you can easily shop with that in mind for any future toys.
That all being said, if given the chance, I think we both would say we prefer two Bass vibrators instead of a Treble and Bass set-up. The Bass just feels better for him, so that’s the one we always lean heavily into. We haven’t tested it on other penises in the wild, though, so if the Treble’s design is a good fit for others, I’m glad they’re mixed into the same toy.
Beware of Lube
In this household, lube is drizzled onto pretty much any sexual activity. Using a dildo? Yep. Intercourse? Yep. Penis stroking? Yep. Really, we go through a stupid amount of lube (most of it Wicked Lube’s Jelle) for all of our sex sessions.
That’s to say: we have to be really, really careful of lube with the Hot Octopuss Jett. Lube will not hurt your toy (as long as it’s the water-based kind!), but the hands-free design of the Jett really depends on getting a snug, firm grip on the shaft. Honestly, those bullet vibrators are packed with some pretty big motors, and where big motors live, you know you’ve got something weighty.
So that Hot Octopuss Jett cock ring has to really pull a lot of weight here. It needs to be snug enough on the shaft that heavy bullet vibrators don’t pull it straight off.
And that’s exactly where the lube problem comes in.
If you’re planning on playing with the Jett solo, with no other toys around, the lube issue may not come up. We, however, regularly transition from lube-y, stroking handjobs to an additional sex toy. In that situation, we’ve always found the Jett to slide around on the shaft. All of the extra lube simply makes everything slippery – which was the point of it in the first place!
The Jett tends to work best with no lube. When we have a dry shaft, we’ve found that it stays in place just fine. With our femdom playstyle, however, this often means planning ahead with a Jett-focused play session or starting with the Jett before we move on to other things.
If you don’t often mix lube and masturbation, you won’t encounter the same concern.
Yes, the Jett Uses Batteries
As a final note, the Hot Octopuss Jett is probably one of the few sex toys out there (from recognizable brands) that uses batteries. It needs 4 AA batteries, to be exact. (None included)
The battery compartment is extremely easy to access. It’s harder to take the cover off my TV remote. The Jett’s battery compartment slides off with a light, firm tug of the thumb to reveal the battery compartment.
READ: Help! My Vibrator Won’t Turn On!
During the entirety of my testing for this Hot Octopuss Jett review, I have yet to wear out a single pair of batteries. It does not seem to drain the batteries when they’re left in the remote, either, for those of you who like to use the same toy frequently. (As always, if placing the toy in storage, remove batteries to reduce the likelihood of battery leakage ruining your toy.)
If for whatever reason, you don’t want to have both bullet vibrators plugged in, the Jett will still function (with that one vibrator) if you only plug in one vibrator. Since the cord is intertwined aside from the last two-to-three inches on each end, you’ll still have the extra bullet vibrator hanging out even if you don’t plug it in.
Hot Octopuss Jett Review: Final Thoughts
Hot Octopuss Jett Review
Summary
If hands-free orgasms are on your to-do list and you know that your penis can cum from vibrations alone, the Jett is a must-have. The Bass vibrations are the real winner here with enough power to facilitate those hands-free orgasms with virtually no effort on your part.
That being said, the Jett is still a stationary vibrator. It doesn’t stroke, and with the design, it doesn’t even really move at all. For people who need movement on their shaft, the Jett may feel great – but not lead to hands-free orgasms.
Since the Jett needs a firm, snug fit on the penis to work its magic, the design of the toy may also require some forethought if you’re someone who mixes lube and sex toys. It’s definitely not a reason to avoid its power, but it’s something to think about for seamless integration into your own play style.
When you’re done exploring the intense orgasms it can provide in the included cock ring harness, the Jett also doubles as two, thick bullet vibrators that can be used for other erogenous zones or shared with a partner.
