Sex! A Romantic Board Game
The packaging and board game box

UPDATE AUGUST 2024: This erotic board game is no longer in production! If you’re looking for an erotic board game, I’d definitely recommend Discover Your Lover instead. This sex toy review remains as a reference for those who are interested in this dildo. While you’re here, why not check out my BDSM advice, femdom advice, and BDSM scene outlines?

The Sex! Romantic Board game is a large board game based off of the Sex! card game. The game includes a large game board, 35 “She Asks” cards, 35 “He Asks” cards, 60 Sex! cards, two foreplay dice, one regular die, 2 game markers, and the game rules. The game is intended for two players of the heterosexual variety.

The box itself seems to be well-made, and it looks like the board game box will easily hold up if you want to place other larger objects on top of it. It can be a bit of a pain to open up, though, as the box tends to use air pressure to “seal” itself which makes removing the top of the box more difficult.

This adult board game was intended for two players. It even includes two little player tokens – a pink one and a black one. The game could be played with more people, but you would have to modify the rules a bit, and you’d need more tokens. The game could also be played with same-sex couples, but as the basis of the game is the He Asks/She Asks cards, you will have to modify the actions as well as the rewards for what the two of you can do. This game is definitely very heterocentric.

The rules are pretty simple. You roll the dice to move around the board. As you move around the board, you’ll have to answer or ask Sex Trivia questions. If you guess it correctly, you will earn Sex! cards. When a card of each color is collected (with 6 cards total), the two act out the fantasy and sex positions portrayed on the cards as their “reward”.

The board has different actions that you have to do. I will definitely say that the actions are not the most exciting actions that a board game has ever offered. Luckily, the most-appearing option is the Sex! cards and trivia questions, and those are the most fun part of the game. Other options that you may land on and have to act out are the foreplay dice, kissing your lover, enjoying a liquid treat with your lover, enjoying an edible treat with your lover, eating an edible treat off of your lover, removing clothing or lingerie, and doing something romantic. When the trivia cards are so fun, I was really disappointed to see that the other foreplay options included on the board were pretty bland.

The Sex! cards you have to collect as your final reward are color-coded. There are six different colors. The first color is foreplay, so as your reward, you seem to be expected to go through five different sex positions. The average, I believe, per time, is usually two positions, though, so I think this might be overshooting what the average couple would do. You can feel free to just ignore the positions you don’t want to get at though.

As for the positions themselves, they are okay. Some of the positions are going to probably be too difficult for the average couple, but if you find one that is too difficult, you’ll just be able to switch it out for an easier sex position. Again, as the Sex! Board Game does give you five different sex positions to try out in order to “win”, you can easily pick and choose which ones work best for you.

The two included specialty dice are not the most exciting dice out there. They are just like your average foreplay dice where one die gives you a body part while the other die tells you an action. Some of the nouns include: Chest, Inner Thighs, Lips, and Face. Some of the verbs include: Stroke, Lick, Suck, Blow On, Tickle. As you can tell, this can make for some odd scenarios, but like all foreplay dice made like that, that’s just how it works.

The Sex Trivia cards are really where this board game shines! Each one of the 35 cards includes 6 different trivia questions, so between the two piles of 35, you get 70 total cards and 420 total trivia questions! The questions are split into “He Asks” and “She Asks”. Each one seems to ask a question about the current person’s anatomy. For example, if there is a question about a penis, it’s probably under the “He Asks” pile as the game assumes that the female would know about the penis and if he’s asking, she would be answering. Does that make sense?

The trivia questions are actually pretty fun. I’m not sure if I believe all of their trivia answers, and some of them seem horribly stereotypical, but they still are fun. Most of the questions are multiple-choice questions, but there are some open-ended questions where your partner is allowed to give you hints and the answering partner gets three guesses. Just as a fun example, here are some of the trivia questions:

He Asks:
What vegetable did ancient Egyptians consider a powerful aphrodisiac? A) the onion B) tomatoes C) red peppers ANSWER: A

What percentage of adults use sex toys on a regular basis? a) about 10% b) 20%-30% c) 50% ANSWER: A

What is the most common sexual fantasy for men? (Open-ended) ANSWER: Being dominated

She Asks:
What does the ancient Chinese term “Clouds and Rain” refer to? a) sexual intercourse b) oral sex c) a bad break-up ANSWER: A

At approximately what age does a woman reach her sexual peak? a) 21 b) 28 c) 35 ANSWER: C

What does a mysophiliac sexually enjoy? a) rough sex b) high heels c) dirty clothing ANSWER: C

Overall, the Sex! board game is an okay game. It’s not the most creative board game out there, and it probably won’t give you exactly what you want. However, the Sex trivia questions are fun, and at the very least, the Sex! reward cards give you some new sex positions and foreplay ideas that you can use by themselves. I just wish that Kheper Games had thought up more unique and fun foreplay options for the board instead of the current ones they have.
