Pony Bridle Head Harness Review

The Pony Bridle Head Harness from MEO.de is a pony-style harness that wraps around the head with some of the low-key pony accessories you might want – like a bit gag, decorative metal pieces, and a spot for reins. This pony play face harness is missing a lot of the decorative detailing that a lot of pony play harnesses usually have (like ears, blinders, face straps, manes, and more), so it really lends itself well to those who are looking for something a bit more low-key – or just really love the oral-focused look of a pony play outfit without all of the pomp and circumstance of the rest.

The long, thin silicone bit gag is made from silicone and is entirely odor-free and taste-free for a really pleasant experience. The bit gag is attached to the rest of the harness with adjustable leather straps and large, decorative O-rings.

Unlike most pony play head harnesses, the MEO.de Human Pony Bridle Head Harness only has a few straps, and it can be attached to the head within seconds – versus the maze that other, more-complicated human pony head harnesses can have.

How Adjustable is the Pony Bridle Head Harness?

To ensure the Pony Bridle Head Harness fits most head sizes, you can adjust the two main attachment straps. Both of these straps go behind the head. One goes towards the top while the other goes towards the bottom. (The photo above is a good visual understanding of the strap system.)

Each strap utilizes a standard pants’ belt buckle with multiple holes to slide the buckle into.

None of the buckles are locking. They’re standard buckles.

It’s a bit hard to get the exact measurements because of the way the system is set up, but the upper around-the-head buckle seems to go from about 25″ to about 21″ with a couple of inches of extra material on either side to use if you need to use a leather hole punch to get more space.

The lower behind-the-head buckle seems to go from 10″ to 17.5″ in length. For at-home measurements, this will really vary based on where you wear the gag on your head, but starting around the ear hole itself and wrapping it over the top of the head seems to be a very similar fit test.  

I will note: the under-the-chin strap is unadjustable in size. What you see is what you get. So if you have a particularly pronounced chin – or a particularly small one – this strap may end up a bit tight or a bit loose. If it’s tight enough to make it impossible to use, it could be cut off or lengthened a bit, manually, if you have a bit of experience with leatherworking.

How Do You Put It On?

We found it easiest to slide the Pony Bridle Head Harness onto the head by starting with the mouth gag and under-the-neck strap as the starting point. Undo all of the buckles, slide the cleaned gag into your partner’s mouth while you simultaneously get the chin strap in place, and then have your partner hold the gag in their mouth while you fasten the strap behind the head and on top of the head.

Compared to most pony play head harnesses that we’ve played with, the MEO.de Pony Bridle Head Harness is extremely easy to put on. We’ve had some pony play head harnesses that seem more like leather puzzles to put on – and have taken just as long. This one goes on effortlessly which is especially helpful if you’re a pony who wants to regularly do at-home “training” but don’t necessarily need to or want to be in full pony regalia.

Pony Bridle Head Harness Review: How’s It Made?

The gag found on this Pony Bridle Head Harness is made from silicone, and it’s impossible to remove from the harness. The O-rings themselves go through a hole in the silicone on each side of the gag, so you aren’t easily removing the gag. When you want to clean it, you’ll need to clean it while keeping the harness out of the way.

(Luckily, with the giant O-rings that the mouth gag is attached to, washing the gag without getting everything wet is actually pretty surprisingly easy. I thought it’d be harder, but cleaning has been pretty easy with this one. It still can make it difficult to sterilize, though, with no way to remove it from the harness that it’s attached to. It usually requires a bowl and some precarious balancing.)

Okay, but Is It Comfortable?

We’ve used the Pony Bridle Head Harness in human pony play scenes – and used it just as a really, really comfortable gag for other sexual scenes. (Honestly, it is super comfortable, and he says it feels more “submissive” because of all the added straps and weight compared to our single-strap bit gags.)

The O-rings can be particularly chilly depending on the ambient temperature, so take that into considerating when gearing up your pony and pressing the O-rings onto their head.

Once the harness is on the head, it’s a really comfortable fit. The chin strap and top-of-the-head straps really help support a lot of the weight of the harness, and no specific spot is taking the majority of the weight. Since the gag is so long, it doesn’t end at the corners of the mouth. The lack of any fastener placed directly at the edges of the mouth means nothing sharp is cutting into the sensitive lip corners. (We’ve been cut by those before)

Since the gag is so long, the only thing touching the sensitive lip corners is just silicone, and silicone is some lovely stuff.

The silicone bit gag is also slightly plushy, so if you’re someone who likes to gag with teeth, you can bite down without any concerns. The bit gag has little flexibility, but it won’t stay in any non-straight shape without pressure actively applied.

The only thing that the Pony Bridle Head Harness isn’t comfortable for is any position where the wearer is tilting their head downwards. Depending on the angle, the metal jawbone decorative pieces can poke into the skin. They won’t pierce it, but most people don’t like metal poking into their skin for long periods of time. If eye restrictions or downward gazes are going to be a staple for your play, you’ll probably want a different mouth gag.

Pony Bridle Head Harness Review: The Heft

The one big thing you’ll notice about the Pony Bridle Head Harness is simply the weight. This is a silicone bit gag attached to two, thick pieces of metal. THEN additional O-rings were added for decoration and reigns.

Short to say: this is a heavy mouth gag.

As noted above, it’s still very comfortable to wear, but you will want to be cognizant of the heft of this head harness. Everyone has their own comfort level for things pulling downwards on their head especially when standing for long periods of time without any extra support.

Almost all of this heft will be felt against the open lower jaw and on the top of the skull. The under-the-jaw strap and back-of-head strap help keep the Pony Bridle Head Harness in place, but they do virtually nothing for alleviating the weight of the harness.

Honestly, the “heft” is a bit of a benefit for us when we’re doing pony play. Do you think those gigantic bridle, equestrian outfits are lightweight and forgettable for the horses? Probably not. It has a similar feeling of “realism” when the heft is added for our pony play sessions. Despite being one of the “simplest” pony play head harnesses we have, it’s by far one of the heaviest, and my partner usually says that it adds a lot of fun to the experience for him. It feels a lot more headspace-enhancing.
