With a two-pronged design and a size that fits into the palm of your hand, the Le Wand Double Vibe is one of the smallest toys that Le Wand makes. Partnered with its Travel Lock functionality, rechargeable design, travel pouch, and waterproof capabilities, the Double Vibe is the travel-friendly “cousin” of the full-sized wands that Le Wand is known for. This Le Wand Double Vibe review will walk you through this smaller, travel-friendly option.

Part of the “Chrome Mini Vibes” line, the “handle” of the Double Vibe is made from a shiny, luxury-looking chrome while the part that makes contact with your skin is clad in a silky smooth silicone. There are three buttons clad in silicone and located on the Chrome end to control the functionality of the vibrator.

It is 3.34″ in length with a diameter of 2.16″ at the widest point. The two prongs are a little under a centimeter apart, and the space between the prongs is about 3 centimeters in depth. The two rabbit ear prongs are lightly flexible, and you can move them about 0.5cm internally or externally, but they will not hold that position. You must keep the pressure applied to keep them spread or closed.

While the two rabbit ear prongs are silky smooth, the Double Vibe includes a little “hat” attachment that fits over these two prongs to instantly add ribbed texturing to the prongs. It’s simply a cover for just the silicone bits of the Double Vibe that can be easily put on and removed based on what sensations you’re seeking that day.

Everything included with the Double Vibe vibrator is laying out on a countertop. There's the vibrator, a textured cap, instruction manual, the charging cable, and the drawstring bag. For my Le Wand Double Vibe review.

Chrome Vibes? What Are Those?

The company Le Wand has been famous for their (you guessed it!) wand massagers for awhile now.

They came out as an alternative to the medicinal-looking Magic Wand wands, and they continue to release new, fun, playful styles of wand massagers that really stand out in the sea of sex toys. (Their All that Glimmers lines have caught my eye for years now.)

However, Le Wand has recently taken all of their experience in crafting powerful vibrations and turned its attention towards creating smaller vibes in the form of Chrome Vibes.

These Chrome Mini Vibes are an attractive, luxurious mix of chrome and silicone. The parts that touch your body are coated in a lovely, silky smooth, body-safe steel while the gripping area surrounding the buttons is made from a shiny, colored chrome.

The Double Vibe is held in my flattened palm. It's longer than my fingers, but not by much. It isn't as long as my entire hand, and it isn't wider than my palm either.

Not only does it give the vibrator a beautiful, high-end look, but it also just feels durably weighty in your hands. (thanks chrome!)

Since the entire toy is made from a firm, rigid material, it allows the power of the vibrations to shine through the entire toy. The silicone is a single, thin layer of silicone that covers the chrome interior, so there isn’t any excessive, squishy silicone softening the vibrations.

Right now, Le Wand makes an entire line of full-sized, insertable Chrome Vibes, and they make a smaller, more portable line in the Chrome Mini Vibes.

The Double Wand lays on top of a business card. It's almost exactly the same size as the business card, and the business card's edges can be seen around the sides of the toy. For my Le Wand Double Vibe review.

Le Wand Double Vibe Review: How Small is It?

The Double Vibe’s claim to fame is its size. While Le Wand has an entire line of full-sized Chrome vibes in the standard 5″ to 7″ size, the Double Vibe is part of their Mini line, designed to be smaller in size for easier travel and storage.

And smaller it is! The Double Vibe is hanging out in the same size camp as some of the remote control units for vibrators (which is unbelievable). It easily fits into my palm with my hands curled entirely around it.

Unlike a vibrator remote control, though, you can still see the Double Vibe when my fingers entirely curled in around it. The cute color does tend to peak out a bit more – though if you had pale skin and the Rose Gold color, it probably wouldn’t be as obvious as the beautiful Dark Cherry against my pale skin.

The Double Wand vibrator laying on a white background. Its charging cable is plugged into the vibe with the charging cable door open. The other end of the cable is a USB cord. For my Le Wand Double Vibe review.

With my hand open and flat, it’s smaller than the length or width of my palm. It snuggles in there nicely.

All of this is to say that it’s small enough to hide pretty much anywhere. Even with the paltry state of women’s clothing pockets nowadays, the Double Vibe would fit into pretty much any of my pockets. It’s about the size of a standard business card, actually.

The fact that it can go virtually anywhere makes the Double Vibe a perfect fit for people who like to have their vibes ready on-the-go. It could slide into a purse’s side pocket or a jean pocket to be ready for use – whether that’s at a play party or with someone you meet at the bar. Whatever your lifestyle.

(The Chrome design, while beautiful, may get in the way of some of that. I know some of my shiny chrome items are particularly sensitive to scratching with keys or other objects. Your vibrator will likely behave the same way. I have yet to scratch it with something, but I intentionally wouldn’t keep it in a pocket with keys or sharp objects. For me, that means carrying the Double Vibe needs to be more of an intentional choice than a plastic bullet vibe that doesn’t show off scratches as readily.)

That small size also makes for easy maneuvering in small spaces (who would have guessed?). The obvious design of the Double Vibe was meant for clitoral pleasure, and as such, this makes the Double Vibe a good fit for intercourse positions where a full-sized toy was a nope. With a size even shorter than some bullet vibrators, as long as you can reach your hand between your bodies, you can use the Double Vibe during those close encounters sex positions.

(It also makes it a good fit if you’re using a vibrator with your pants/underwear on for whatever reason! Its smaller size doesn’t need as much stretch in your pants. Hey, if you wanna get off while staying fully clothed, I support you.)

If you prefer to use the Double Vibe while squeezing the two rabbit ears together, however, you’ll need a bit more room. The Double Vibe was built with gently flexible rabbit ears that can be pushed inwards toward one another. If you want to use it that way, you’ll need the space to add a second hand to push the two rabbit ears together.

My finger squished in-between the two bunny ear prongs of the Double Vibe. It's a snug fit with my flesh squished out a bit on my pointer finger from the pressure.

Le Wand Double Vibe Review: The Weight

Despite the smaller size, this little vibe is hefty.

It, again, is actually pretty impressive. I can’t think of very many vibes that have this much weight to them, and oddly enough, it makes the toy feel extremely durable and sturdy.

I’m used to picking up small vibrators and feeling a featherlight weight with no resistance.

That isn’t the case with the Double Vibe. Everyone who has picked it up has gone “woah!” because it is: it’s much, much heavier than you’d initially expected something this size to be. It’s about a third of a pound – which doesn’t sound like a lot (and it isn’t), but when it’s attached to something so small, it’s a very jarring experience.

That all being said, the heft doesn’t impact use. It still feels pretty comfortable in my hands, and it’s not so heavy that I worry about it sliding out. It doesn’t require any additional, conscious thought to keep it in my fingers, and its weight rests comfortably on a single finger without any fatigue.

(It helps that the Double Vibe is well-weighted. Almost all of that weight is carried in the metallic area of the vibe for a butt-heavy toy. This makes it much easier to carry and hold as the weight naturally snuggles itself into your hand.)

My fingers press the tips of the Double Vibe together. The two tips touch in the middle when pressure is applied to push them together.

My fingers press the tips of the Double Vibe apart. The two bunny ears don't go very far from one another, but they clearly have a bit more space than when the bunny ears are at rest. Two fingers would not fit side-by-side inside of it, though.

Le Wand Double Vibe Review: Let’s Talk Power

The vibrations feel most rumbly when you have your pleasure spot tucked between the two “bunny ears”. The motors seem to thrum in harmony with a sensation that feels a bit like surround-sensation, 360-degree pleasure. It’s a bit like being vibrated on all sides at once. The vibrations feel much more powerful in between the bunny ears than they do with the vibrator simply pressed against the skin.

It’s deliciously pleasurable, and it can honestly be overwhelming, even on the lowest setting. This is not a vibrator that I’d stuff my clitoris into until I’m already very turned on and “warmed up”. If you like stronger sensations, the very tips of the bunny ears can be a better, softer spot to warm up. If that’s still too intense, the vibrations can also be felt along the sides of each of the bunny ears.

(I have yet to actually use the Double Vibe for warm-up like this – even for this Le Wand Double Vibe review. I enjoy vibrations, but I find that they can numb me if I overdo it, so I’ll usually warm up with my hands instead of a toy – then swap to the vibrations for the “main event”.)

The vibrations feel most rumbly between the bunny ears and on the lowest settings. As you increase the vibration intensity, they seem to get a bit less rumbly, trending a bit more towards buzzy.

This is particularly true if you have a larger “object” you want to slide between the bunny ears. The more the bunny ears stretch out from one another, the buzzier the vibrations feel. While my clitoris can fit between the bunny ears without pushing them very far apart, if you’re someone who has a very large clitoris (for whatever reason), you might find that the vibrations feel buzzier than someone who doesn’t need the bunny ears to slide apart.

If you’re someone who loves patterns, you’ll be happy to find out that the Le Wand Double Vibe allows you to increase and decrease the vibration intensity on any given pattern. This can be especially helpful if you’re someone who likes the edge or “tease” yourself with patterns that won’t get you to orgasm – but still feel fantastic.

My fingers gripping the handle of the vibrator with a thumb laying on top of one of the control buttons.

Intensity-wise, it isn’t my strongest vibrator, but it isn’t slacking either. It has enough power for orgasm – though I find that I start getting frustrated with the buzziness if I turn the vibrator up too high. This is definitely a toy that I keep at the lowest intensities, choosing to move my body or move the vibrator against my body for added stimulation instead of upping the intensity.

The first 3 vibration intensity levels tend to feel the most rumbly for me. I tend to avoid the top 3 vibration intensity levels because of the buzziness.

Even so, for a toy this size, the vibrations are surprisingly rumbly – especially on the lowest setting. Most bullet vibrators really can’t compare.

Noise-wise, the Double Vibe is relatively soft. The vibrator gives off a low, gentle “hum” of a buzz. It can be heard within the same room, but with any sort of ambient noise, it’ll likely be difficult to hear outside of a closed door. It’s even quieter when the vibrator is pressed up firmly against skin.

With the “hum” of the vibrator, the Double Vibe’s noise doesn’t really stand out within the standard household noises, and it could easily be mistaken for the hum of an air conditioning unit or a fan.

Especially for someone who wants to use this in a shared house or within a hotel room with thin walls, the Double Vibe’s noise level can be a serious benefit.

A hand is open in a flat palm. The Double Vibe vibrator is sitting in the palm of his hand, held under the spray of a shower. Lots of water drips off his hand and the toy as it splashes off the waterproof vibrator. For my Le Wand Double Vibe review.

Le Wand Double Vibe Review: Gripping the Toy

I’ve owned other toys with metallic or plastic bases. They can look absolutely gorgeous, but when it comes to a bit of lubricant, they can become an absolute nightmare to handle. For some toys, I’m willing to bring a washcloth to masturbate and tolerate the sliding (like my favorite g-spot dildo or the Pure Wand), but for other toys, it can be a dealbreaker that gets the toy left in the drawer more often than not.

The Double Vibe toes the line on this one.

On one hand, the base of the vibrator is entirely smooth. Other than the battery cover base and the silicone buttons, the entire “handle” is made from a slippery, shiny chrome. Again, it’s gorgeous, but it’s still a slippery surface.

When lube gets on this, yep. It’s exactly as you’d expect. It can be hard to handle.

The Double Vibe’s saving grace is the fact that it’s so easy to cup in your hands. If you were going to try to two-finger hold the Double Vibe, it’d slip out of your hands quicker than the time it took me to type this out.

Showcasing how I hold the vibrator with a three-finger approach to make it less slippery.

But for everyone I’ve met, the natural way your fingers want to grip the Double Vibe offers so much more security and grip. The thumb goes on top, the pointer finger wraps around the base (following the U-shape of the base), and the vibrator’s weight rests on top of the middle finger. This leaves the thumb able to easily access buttons, puts the vibrator’s weight on a finger, and stabilizes the entire set-up.

Even when I flip the vibrator around to use it on someone else, your fingers just want to use a modified version of that three-finger set-up to use it.

I’ve repeated it with four people now, and that’s how everybody goes to handle it. It just seems like the way the brain wants to hold it.

That’s a good thing, too, as all of that extra contact with the fingers tends to eliminate a lot of the gripping issues I find with lube. If you manage to (somehow, honestly, it’d be impressive) get lube all over every single surface of the handle, there’d be a bit of a struggle to hold it, but as long as the lube just leaked over a single area of the toy, the sturdy grip on the rest of the fingers helps keep this Le Wand sex toy in place.

Kinda like little “back-up fingers” that will ensure somewhere still has the grip to keep the Double Vibe fun going.

The small size and the “Chrome” handle area do transfer quite a bit of vibrations though. I come away with lasting vibration sensations in my fingers from holding the vibrator every time I use the Le Wand Double Vibe. If you’re someone who is very sensitive to that or finds it painful, you probably will want to go with a full-sized Le Wand wand massager instead of this smaller, pocket-sized vibe. The Double Vibe has the portability going on, but that portability also means it transfers more vibrations into the fingers.

The Double Vibe with the textured cap shown placed on top of the vibe's tip. The ribbing is extremely noticeable. For my Le Wand Double Vibe review.

Removable Texture?

In an interesting choice, the Le Wand Double Vibe comes with a removable, textured sleeve that slides on top of the two rabbit ears of the Double Vibe.

This sleeve honestly feels like a little hat for the Double Vibe in the cutest of ways. The sleeve is made of a super flexible, super thin silicone material, and it slips on top of the vibrator as easily as your winter hat slides on top of your head.

There is nothing that locks the textured sleeve onto the Double Vibe. Most people won’t be inserting the vibe or causing tugging on the rabbit ears, though, so this really doesn’t matter. If anything, it’s a benefit. It makes it extremely easy to remove the texture when you’re done.

The texture is a ridged ribbing that can easily be felt on your fingers and your more-sensitive parts. It is not a texture that gently fades into the background; it feels almost exactly like the ridged texture that construction tubes and screws occasionally use to provide resistance when slipping parts together.

During use, it follows that same trend: it really doesn’t fade into the background. I’m not sure I love texture enough to fall in love with this removable hat.

As noted, it really can be felt on your fingers. The ridging on it has zero plushness; the firm, protruding surface you see is exactly how it feels.

That is just as true on your clitoris and sensitive bits as it is on the fingers.

That is, it adds uncomfortable friction when I’m trying to use it clitorally. It makes it much harder to slide the clitoris between the bunny ears; there’s a lot less space (because the “hat” took up some space!) and there’s firm, rigid texturing pressing up against my clit in an uncomfortable manner when I try to get it in there.

Once I manage to fit my clitoris between the bunny ears (which is bordering on uncomfortable already, with the hat on), we run into the vibration problem we mentioned earlier. Since the “ears” are thicker now, I automatically have to shove the bunny ears apart in order for my clitoris to fit. Because of that, the vibrations now feel buzzier and less rumbly.

So now my clitoris is feeling uncomfortably pinched while the vibrations feel less good. It just isn’t a good fit for me – and I’m someone who loves clitoral pressure.

That being said, it does change the sensation of the Double Vibe’s vibrations when used on other parts of the body. Dragging the full length of the bunny ears against the vulva, for example, feels pretty interesting with the textured “hat” on top of the toy. It adds more friction to the sensation in a way that I don’t think I’ve ever felt in a sex toy before.

When dragged lightly, that friction simply really, really lets you know exactly where the Double Vibe is on your body. It’s pretty difficult to ignore it.

Once you add pressure, though, it has an entirely different sensation. It feels almost like a deep-massage, tissue-penetrating massage wand that goes deep into the muscle. You could easily get into a deep tissue massage with the textured “hat” on top of the Double Vibe. With how my sore forearms feel now (they feel great after doing this massage trial for my Le Wand Double Vibe review!), I think you or your partner might beg you for it after you try it a few times.

The removable textured hat is a cool idea. Is it for ultra-sensitive flesh? For most, I don’t think so. It’s especially uncomfortable if you want to use the vibrator as it’s designed with sensitive flesh slid between the bunny ears. On the other hand, it does make an interesting sensation if you tend to use your vibrators as massage tools on your body for foreplay or warm-ups.

Summary

To really enjoy the Double Vibe, I recommend being someone who wants to slide their sensitive bits between the bunny ears.

Everything about the vibe – from the double motors to unlocking the rumbly vibrations – is focused on that sweet spot in-between the bunny ears. That “sweet spot” offers yummy pressure and rumbly vibrations to anything within the ears.

Once you do that, you get a gorgeous vibrator that feels natural to control. From the perfectly-placed buttons that make for easy thumb control to the smooth surface of the handle and tip that make for easy cleaning, the Double Vibe looks as good as it feels.
And it does all of that at the length of my pointer finger! The Double Vibe could easily fit into some of my roomier clothing pockets, and it rivals the size of a business card.

With the bunny ear design (limited anatomy space), vibration transfer through the handle, and heft, I don’t think the Le Wand Double Vibe is for everyone, but if it’s for you, you’re probably going to love it.
