We Vibe II

The pretty little We-Vibe 2 sitting on its satin bag.

As the We-Vibe 2 is a very old model and the We-Vibe company is constantly innovating, the We-Vibe is no longer in production. I believe the company is on its 7th iteration of the product now: the We-Vibe Sync and We-Vibe Chorus. This product review remains here for reference purposes. – May 2023.

I’m on a mission to try out all the different types of sex toys that exist out there. While I’ve had some decent experience with dildos and vibrators, I actually haven’t tried many of the couple’s toys. I really have tried many of the couple’s toys that can be used during partnered sex since my submissive and I aren’t big into intercourse. Despite all this, I’ve had my eye on the We Vibe 2 for a long time since it’s so unique. When TabuToys offered to send me this couple’s toy for review, I just had to say yes.

The WeVibe 2 is a small, silicone toy that comes in purple. The We-Vibe II was meant to be inserted vaginally with the remaining end resting against the clitoris for dual stimulation. Both inner sides of the WeVibe have ridges on them, but the ridges on the g-spot side are much more pronounced. The buttons and the charging port are on the clitoral side of the sex toy on the side facing away from your body. Each side of this unique sex toy inserts about three inches with a widest width of about an inch on each side. There’s a 1/3 inch wide piece that connects the two different sides together. When inserted, I found that the toy ends up becoming much more “L” shaped than the “U” shape it is in now – at least, that’s how it comfortably worked for me.

I found that the packaging this came in wasn’t very conducive to storage. This is the first box that I automatically knew I would be tossing. There aren’t any half-naked women on the packaging, and it looks very sleek and professional, but in order to open the box, you had to open all of the tabs on the backside then deal with the plastic the We-Vibe II was in. I found it easier to just use the purple satin storage bag that the sex toy came in to keep it in storage when its not in use. It also comes with a charger in a small white box that’s recyclable.

Packaging for the WE Vibe II

The first time you receive your We-Vibe II, you’ll notice that it’s rechargeable. There’s a small indentation in the material where you will actually have to physically shove in and break the seal the first time. It’s not difficult to do, but you might feel a little horrible about breaking it. Don’t worry – the instructions show you the exact spot, and it’s not physically taxing to do. After that point, you’ll see a little hole in the silicone where the charger just slides in. Making sure the charger is completely slid in and charging, the instructions recommend that you recharge your vibrator for 24 hours before you use it for the first time. I found that two hours would fully recharge the We-Vibe after that. However, you won’t actually know since there’s no sort of indication light in the slightest. You just have to unplug it and hope for the best. The instruction guide recommends plugging and charging your rechargeable sex toy anytime the motors seem to be slowing down. I’m running off my second charge, and even after quite a few uses, the toy seems to be going along just fine. I’d say you could easily use this for about two hours before it needs to be recharged.

To show you the button and the charger hole. The button is one the top, and the charger hole is the one on on the bottom.

For being a rechargeable toy, the vibration settings aren’t bad at all. There are seven unique vibration patterns, and they are controlled by a button on the outer side of the clitoral stimulation portion. I covered this little guy with lubricant before I used it, so my hands were way too slick to change the vibration setting mid-use. My submissive, with dry hands, could manage to do it though. The button is a little bit hard to push, but I imagine that’s because they didn’t want the settings to get changed mid-use.

The seven different settings include: a subtle rollercoaster that goes from a higher vibration to a lower one, another rollercoaster that does it much more slowly, a medium-fast pulsation setting, going from low to high then repeating it, very short, staccato pulsations, a regular vibration setting, higher strength vibration settings, and two long pulses and three short pulses. To change the vibrations, you just click through the patterns from the top of the We-Vibe 2, and to turn off the vibrations, you can scroll through all of the settings or you can hold down the button for two seconds, and it will shut off. I find that holding down the button for two seconds with lubricated hands can be a little difficult, but it’s manageable.

These vibrations aren’t the strongest in the world. They’re about what other vibrators consider medium-strength vibrations, but they aren’t surface ones either. I find them to be much more deep, like beneath-the-surface vibrations. It isn’t that loud, and it’d be pretty darn difficult to hear through a closed door – especially if you have the sex toy inserted. The stronger motor is located in the clitoral piece, but it seems like the insertable portion does have a motor – even if it is weaker. Now, while the vibrations aren’t earth-shattering, I find that to be a partially good thing. If the vibration levels were too strong, it would make it a little more uncomfortable for the penis owner.

This sex toy was made for use during intercourse, how did it work for us? Great, actually. It was easy to lube up and easy to slide in. I turned on the vibrations before we started playing, so that made it much easier. Once in, it was easy to feel the vibrations externally, but it was a little difficult to feel the vibrations internally.

However, during sex, I did find that the WE Vibe II provided a lot of new sensations that we don’t usually have during intercourse.

It stayed in just fine without any problem, and the submissive didn’t experience any sort of pain. I did experience some pleasure from the internal part during intercourse, but it wasn’t g-spot pleasure.

We took it out after about fifteen minutes of sex because he said the vibrations were starting to make him numb.

If I had a choice, I’d wish I could turn off the internal vibrations and only keep the external ones since that’s where I found that I enjoyed the most pleasure. I actually found that this felt pretty darn amazing and changed the feelings I regularly experience during sex. This will definitely be a regular part of our sex life now.

Typical shape of the We-Vibe 2 during use

As I said before, it didn’t come out at all during intercourse. As long as both the toy and your penetrating partner are lubricated, it should stay in just fine. That having been said, I haven’t tried this if the penetrating partner was wearing a condom OR if the penetrating partner is using a dildo. We tried it in a multitude of positions but found that it worked best (at least, for me) in missionary with my hips elevated with a Liberator shape.

The submissive enjoyed using this too. Up until the part where he’d get numb, he said the vibrations would go from his head to his shaft as he thrusted. He said none of the toy caught on any part of him, and it actually glided pretty smoothly. Our first couple tries were more along the lines of giggling since it just feels weird the first couple minutes, but after that, we both did agree that, up until the point where it made him numb, it was really enjoyable. We have only used the WE Vibe II on steady vibration modes though, so I have a feeling when we re-try it on a rollercoaster mode or something better, it’ll last longer without becoming numbing.

We haven’t really found it a very good fit for wearing underneath a strap-on harness during pegging.

Now for its unintended use: masturbation and solo use. It wasn’t made for this type of pleasure, but I can see how it’d work for those that don’t need any pressure to orgasm. Personally, I prefer having pressure, so using hands-free toys actually takes away the point for me, but if you don’t require pressure and prefer moderate vibrations, this will work well. If you angle it in the right way, and it stays there, I’m sure you could get it to reach your g-spot.

This also would be a neat toy to use if you’re one that enjoys masturbating by humping objects like pillows or chairs. (There must be a more technical way to say that, but you know what I mean.) You could also use it while giving a handjob or blowjob to a partner. While seated, it does a pretty good job of staying inside the body.

The sensation of the vibrator going in and out along with the clitoral pressure feels quite amazing.

Public play is another consideration. While I found it doesn’t stay in very well if you stand up, it’s possible you could use this for public play. However, the inability to turn it off without reaching into your panties would be a problem.

All of this having been said, it’s pretty darn easy to clean the We Vibe II. The instructions recommend cleaning this sex toy before and after use with soap and water. The instructions also recommend not bending this rechargeable sex toy into awkward positions – just let it go how it naturally will. Because this is a silicone toy, I’d also recommend against using silicone-based lubricant on it since it’ll hurt the toy. Use water-based lubricant. We had no problem with it drying up. Because of the hole for charger, this couples sex toy is not waterproof.

I’m completely sold. It enhanced our sex life, and I’m pretty happy we have it. It’s rechargeable, so I don’t have to worry about the batteries, and it provides vibrations during intercourse without having to deal with having hands in the way. It enhances his pleasure as well, but I wish we could find a way to keep it from making him numb; maybe trying new vibration patterns will help. I’d completely recommend this to anyone, and I know this will stay near our bed for constant use. This sex toy store carries this dual-stimulation toy, so go buy your own WE Vibe II.
