Liebe Seele Blackish Green Cow Leather Bondage Set Review

I don’t know about you, but it’s high time that we see more gorgeous, green bondage sets around. I’m not sure what it is about emerald green for me, but it’s definitely high up there on my list of “sexiest colors” (if that gets to be a list?). To partner it with gold accents like Liebe Seele did though….mmf! This is one very, very sexy set of bondage gear!

Lucky for both you and I, it’s also a high-quality set of bondage gear, so it’s not an either/or situation here. You can have your cake and eat it too. The Liebe Seele Blackish Green Cow Leather Bondage Set is high-quality, flippin’ gorgeous, and seriously-sexy to look at – not to mention how many bondage opportunities the full set opens. (I’ve already paired this set with some men’s lingerie for my partner for a seriously sultry look.)

(Sidenote: I never understood that proverb. Why would you get cake and then…not eat it? That’s like “You can turn on your shower and bathe too!” Like, of course I can. That’s the point.)

What’s Included with these Green Bondage Restraints?

If you get the full set from Liebe Seele, you get the collar, the two wrist restraints, a leash, and two double-sided clips. All of the hardware (including on the clips!) is a gorgeous, matching gold. The collar includes a single O-ring while each one of the wrist restraints include a D-ring for bondage purposes.

I highly, highly recommend the full set. Not only am I a serious sucker for matching sets, but it also provides the double-sided clips – and everything just works so nicely together.

Ways to Use the Liebe Seele Bondage Set

Since the Liebe Seele Blackish Green Cow Leather Bondage Set includes two double-sided clips AND a leash, it unlocks a lot more ways to use the bondage set than your standard, basic bondage sets. (And I’m totally here for it.) Really, those double-sided clips are the best ever, and I rarely head to play parties without a set of those types of clips. They work for SO much. Like:

• Cuff the two wrist cuffs to the O-ring on the neck collar – and then attach a leash. Now your partner must go where you say, and they are unable to even use their hands. (Just be very careful walking them. They have no way to catch themselves!)
• Attach the leash to the neck. Now cuff the wrists behind/in-front of the body. Instant bondage set – and a feeling of serious subserviance as they have to follow.
• Use the double-sided clips to attach the cuffs to an external bondage point. You can install your own bondage point into literally anything – including the wall – with just an eye bolt. The clip will clip the cuff to the eyebolt – instant bondage!
• Don’t want to make permanent modifications to your home? I get you. I rent too. Instead, get a small length of chain. Wrap it around anything circular that’s fastened to the ground or doesn’t have an open-top (so the chain can’t “slip out”). Now place two circles of the chain together, clip the double-sided clip onto it, and it will “fasten” the two sides together. Now you can clip a cuff onto the other side. You can do this with bedposts – or use longer chains to do it with the feet of chairs/couches/giant tables, or anything else that’s really sturdy in your home.

One of the cooler things that I personally enjoy about the double-sided clips is that they aren’t locks. In an emergency, they can be unclipped within seconds, and if something happens to me, my partners can unclip their own within seconds too. No key to worry about. I’ve never had a partner ever attempt to unclip them on their own unless it was clear the scene was over or something was genuinely wrong, so they don’t change the “bondage” dynamic – but they do add a nice layer of security.

Durability of the Liebe Seele Blackish Green Cow Leather Bondage Set

The wrist restraints, collar, and double-sided clips of the Liebe Seele Blackish Green Cow Leather Bondage Set feel sturdy as fuck. I’m not-at-all concerned about any of them breaking or having issues. The D-ring is double-riveted into the length of the wrist cuffs.

Most importantly, though, the double-layer of material found all over every item in the Liebe Seele Blackish Green Cow Leather Bondage Set really ups the stability on every item. Every single strap of leather on the Liebe Seele bondage cuffs has AT LEAST two layers of leather. This even includes the fastening leather inside the buckle area. While the leather is noticeably thicker on the loop around the wrist, the rest of the cuff uses the same leather (though thinner) in the same dual-layer design.

This pretty much ensures that everything about the wrist cuffs and collar will be really, really sturdy. You might be strong, but the likelihood you’re going to tear through four layers of leather is pretty slim. The rivets are also fastened through three layers – with the four-layer “covering” the rivet so that your skin never comes in contact with the fastening point. As I’ll note under Comfort, though, the cuffs never feel too stiff or difficult to use. It’s surprising how flexible and soft the leather is despite having so many layers. It really is the best of both worlds.

I will note that the leash is probably the weakest link of the entire Liebe Seele Blackish Green Cow Leather Bondage Set. I’m hesitant to knock it any points for that though. In order to make the leash sturdier, they would have needed to use a heavier, thicker chain with a heavier, thicker collar clip – which wouldn’t have meshed nearly as well – visually – with the rest of the set. Considering that you shouldn’t be putting someone’s body weight in tension on the leash, I’m going to say that Liebe Seele made the right choice here.

However, it is worth noting that the BDSM leash in this set can’t hold up to the same, intense play that the rest of the set can. It isn’t fragile by any means, but I wouldn’t try to lift your partner off the floor by the leash; it’s likely to snap. It will work great for light tension for leading your partner around, though. Just be reasonable with it (which you should do anyway; it’s for a collar)

Is the Liebe Seele Blackish Green Cow Leather Bondage Set Comfortable?

Each one of these green bondage gear pieces slide nicely onto the body – and really do feel comfortable against the skin. “Luxurious” against the skin might even be something I’d consider saying. The against-skin material is very soft and slick, and it really helps that the design of the cuffs means that no rivets or fastening agents will be touching your skin. It’s just a smooth, flat surface against the skin; the innermost layer of leather protects the skin from ever touching any part of the metal.

The wrist cuffs can start to feel a bit bulky near the fastener – depending on how thick your wrist is. My partner didn’t find any sort of bulkiness to them, but he has much smaller wrists, so the spots where the excess material “overlaps’ was a lot more spread out around the cuffs. My thicker wrists, which make me wear the cuffs on the second loosest setting, mean that the “overlap” area for my wrists is only less than an inch in length. This means that the cuff feels a bit “unbalanced” on me – and I end up with a protruding point on my wrist that’s about 2″ in height because of the two layers of cuff plus the buckle itself.

That’s not a play-limiter: if anything, you might find it a bonus. It feels “weird” and makes my wrist feel a bit off-kilter. When it comes to BDSM and kink play, though, throwing someone off their usual sensations can actually be part of the fun. It will instantly remind your submissive partner that they’re wearing the cuffs – and something is different. They may even have to be extra-cautious while performing activities because things will be different. It’s just worth noting because you might want to hold off on having them balance a tray of drinks after fastening on the Liebe Seele restraint – just for a bit until they get their bearings.

Compared to other Liebe Seele bondage cuffs, I’d say that these green bondage gear restraints are much softer and more “broken in” when you receive them. While they can feel a bit stiff when attempting to fasten them, the leather feels pretty pre-softened already, and you can push around the leather where you need it. There’s very little “breaking in” required to make these cuffs do what you want. They’re perfectly round and easy-to-fasten, and they curl up into their circular shape nicely.

I love the shit out of every part of this set. Every single inch of it. This has instantly joined my Top 5 bondage gear items – just because of the serious build quality AND the beautiful leather color and matching metal choice. Not only do you get some great-quality BDSM cuffs and a collar, but you get matching hardware that lets you put it all together into an instant BDSM scene!

My biggest complaint is (honestly) the fact that I can’t buy matching ankle restraints. Since it’s a limited edition set, it appears Liebe Seele doesn’t sell a full set of gear for this color like they do for some of their other colors (like their Wine Red series).

That’s about it. That’s really all the complaint I can make about the Blackish Green Cow Leather Bondage Set: that I can’t get more of it. 

(Final Note: I’ve been wearing the wrist restraints while writing this review for more information – and to ensure everything’s as accurate as possible – and even as a Domme, I must say, these restraints look HOT on my wrists. Like, damn. I apparently need some bracelets in this color. In addition, the leather smell is really, really strong – in a good way. It smells fantastic, and I’ve really just been enjoying the sensual smell of the leather throughout the writing of this entire review – despite these cuffs being a month old at this point.)
