If you’ve been around the BDSM community for a few years, you’ve definitely heard of Kink.com. Today, I want to introduce you to one of their branded gear sets in this Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuff Set review.
Emblazoned with the Kink.com logo, this set of matte black leather cuffs stands out with color-contrasting shiny, golden hardware. With lockable options and a single D-ring built into each cuff, the set provides bondage gear that stands out in a sea of black bondage gear.
This locking cuff set provides everything you need to craft a “handcuffs” set as soon as you receive it. The Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuff Set includes:
- x2 Kink.com branded leather cuffs
- x2 Gold Eclipse locks
- x2 Gold Eclipse keys
- x1 Gold Eclipse removable fastener that can clip the cuffs’ two D-rings together
If you ever lose the locks and keys or the fastener, Kink.com sells them individually as well.
These cuffs come directly from the official retail store of Kink.com, one of the longest and largest-running kink-focused adult video companies in the game. They’ve done a ton for the community (aside from just turning them on) with sponsorships and educational and how-to videos as well.
The Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuff set was designed by Kink.com’s founder, Peter Acworth, trying to give everyday people the ability to experience a bit of that Kink.com magic easily and at a fraction of the price of DIY’ing your own custom gear.
Each one of these adjustable wrist cuffs fits a wrist circumference from 5.5″ (tightest setting) to 8.75″ (loosest setting).
Both cuffs are lockable with a design that “fastens shut” using one of the two included locks.

A Unique Fastening System
The Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuffs do not use the standard pants/belt buckle of most wrist cuffs. Instead, they use wide, open slots paired with locks.
Simply wrap the gold and black bondage cuff at the tightness you want it, thread the large D-ring through the large open slot, and place a lock (included) through the large D-ring. This lock is larger than the open slot, and it prevents the D-ring from sliding back through the open slot, essentially locking the cuffs onto your lover’s wrist.
This does, as you’d assume, mean that you have to lock the cuffs onto a partner’s wrist to ensure they don’t fall off. You can, technically, use anything that prohibits the D-ring from sliding back through the open slot (including clips or safety pins) if the idea of using locks isn’t sexy to you.
However, these Kink.com bondage cuffs include their own color-matched locks and keys, so they’re really designed to be locked shut.

Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuff Set Review: Showcasing the Kink.com Name
You purchased a bondage cuff set from Kink.com specifically because you love Kink.com. The Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuffs Set makes sure that love doesn’t go to waste. Each one of these bondage cuffs features the Kink.com demon-tailed logo in gold, showcasing your love for the household kink company you know and love.
Each one of these gold demon-tailed logos is a piece of gold-plated metal, shiny and standing out from the flat, matte black surface of the cuff itself. It’s placed next to the single bondage point for the cuffs – which is important as the metal of both the logo and the bondage point plate are not flexible areas of the cuff. The rest of the matte black cuff will curl comfortably into a circle, but this area with the Kink.com logo and bondage point will stay mostly flat due to the metal riveted on its surface.
All of the metal hardware, including this Kink.com logo, are color-matched and shiny AF. The Kink.com logo perfectly matches the golden shade of the locks, keys, bondage point plates, and connecting clip.

Using this Kink.com Bondage Gear
These cuffs are built for efficient, powerful bondage – not necessarily for comfort. That isn’t to say they’re uncomfortable, but they simply don’t have some of the comfort-focused features built in. There’s no padding. The edges are firm and unbending. They feel a bit off-weighted during use (as the side with the gold D-ring holding spot is by-far the heaviest part of the cuff).
The Kink.com Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuff is, instead, built for reliability and durability. The leather material is thick. The cuffs are, quite literally, fastened onto the wrist with a lock, ensuring they don’t come undone. The D-ring is an actual plate of metal, riveted directly onto the leather itself, providing extra stability. You can pull against these cuffs with your full body weight without feeling like they’re going to snap. We have, specifically, tested that time and time again with some fun predicament bondage scenarios just to see how far we could push the cuffs.
The answer is: these cuffs are ridiculously durable. They hold up against body weight with ease. The only reason my submissive stops tugging or will tap out is because of the feel of the firm edges of the cuffs digging into his skin – not because he’s worried about breaking some of our gear. With most of our other BDSM gear, a worry about accidentally destroying some of the pretty things he loves stops him. In this case, he doesn’t worry about pushing the position until the bite of the edge of the cuff becomes too much.
My only comfort complaint: it could really use an interior layer of leather to cover the rivets. Right now, during wear, the rivets rub against the wearer’s wrist. This isn’t the end of the world, but as these cuffs are made for sturdy play, it can get irritating with sweat and tension. During multiple Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuff Set review trial runs, he ended up sweaty from some delicious predicament bondage, and the rivets’ area was starting to get itchy.

This riveting issue also comes into play if you’re wearing the cuffs for long periods of time. The heavy leather isn’t particularly breathable. It tends to build up sweat and oil underneath its surface, making those internal rivets irritating and noticeable. This isn’t a set of cuffs we pick out if we’re casually wearing for video games or other long-term service scenes (like cocktail service). It’s a bit of a shame as I love the look of them for that; they go beautifully with so much of our lingerie.
Those color-matching locks and keys are gorgeous. We’ve never had any issues unlocking or relocking the locks – though as the locks and keys age, I’d be extra-mindful to ensure they work as expected before locking someone into the cuffs.

Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuff Set Review: Ready to go Straight Out of the Box
Each one of the Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuffs includes its own bondage point plate. On this metal plate sits a very sturdy, thick, unmovable D-ring. You can use this D-ring to fasten kink gear, tethers, or anything else onto the cuffs.
The D-ring’s plate is riveted onto the surface of the cuff. It is not going anywhere unless you rip it through the leather, and good luck with that.
If you want to use your new kink gear set right away, this set also includes a small gold fastener. This fastener is surprisingly short (about an inch long), but it stands out in a sea of fasteners. It isn’t a double-sided clip like most. Instead, it’s a horseshoe-shaped clip with a small, unscrewable post. Just unscrew the post, slip both D-rings inside of the horseshoe, then screw the post back on to use it.
This means you can fasten the two cuffs together within seconds of receiving the set. You instantly have a simple bondage setup available for play ASAP while still maintaining the option to use each of the cuffs individually. Just be forewarned: that included fastening clip is extremely short, and your lover’s wrists will, essentially, be bound right next to one another. It’s a tight-enough fit that he finds it difficult to use his cell phone while wearing the cuffs because his wrists are so close together.

The horseshoe fastener is unique and gorgeous, but it isn’t time-efficient or easy to use – especially if your near vision isn’t what it used to be. Aligning the post back into the horseshoe’s fastener slot isn’t quite as bad as threading a needle, but it’s not, necessarily, far off. The hole you need to align the post with is half the size of a pencil eraser. It’s larger than a needle hole, but it’s still a delicate balance that requires your cuff wearer’s cooperation. In all of our Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuff Set review tests, I’ve never been able to get this horseshoe fastener closed unless my partner stands completely still while I fasten it. If you have a squirrely partner or BDSM scene, there’s no way you’ll get this closed.
If you’re going for the visual appeal of the set, I’d definitely use the horseshoe fastener. It’s unique, it’s perfectly color-matched, and it gives a more delicate, sexual look to fastening the two cuffs together.
If you’re going for functionality and quick bondage, though, I’d likely opt for another fastener like a double-sided clip. It’ll go on 20x faster, offers a bit more wiggle room for your wearer to keep their wrists in a neutral, comfortable position, and will work with a lot more bondage options.

Other Matching Kink.com Gear
If black and gold is your vibe (uh, hello, that’s me), Kink.com also sells a few other gear items that will color-match really well with this set.
There’s the Fusion Rod in Vapor Gold or the Rianne S Booty Plug set. The dildo even comes with its own Vac-U-Lock post, allowing you to use it with your favorite sex machines or Vac-U-Lock gear.
Final Thoughts: Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuff Set Review
Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuff Set Review
Summary
Kink.com bondage gear doesn’t fuck around, and neither do these Gold Eclipse Wrist Cuffs. They’re built to hold up to your toughest scenes with super-sturdy leather, riveted-in bondage points, and locking fastening.
That being said, they aren’t the most comfortable cuffs to wear during your toughest scenes. Especially if your wearer is pulling against your bondage points, the extremely firm material of the cuffs can cut into the wrists, getting a bit irritating.
These are definitely the cuffs you pull out when you:
A) Wanna show off that you’re really into Kink.com because these are hot AF.
B) Are looking for something to wear for a very-rough BDSM scene where your gear needs to hold up and then you plan to take them off (not wearing them all night).
For that, they’re essentially perfect.
