Each color displays for about a second, fades in and out, and moves to the next solid color. There are 7 colors in total, and the cycle will infinitely repeat (until the battery dies). The marketing photos showcasing rainbow colorations are a lie; there is no rainbow setting at all.
The color is mostly on the tip of the fiber optic cord. Like most fiber optics you’ve seen, the color is mostly at the very tip of the end of the tail. The photos showcasing colors throughout the entirety of the plug’s tail are also false advertising. You get a bit of color bleeding throughout the cord itself, but as you can see in some of the photos, it’s just a little bleed.
The plug is shipped in a small, rectangular box. While I’m usually all for compact, recyclable packaging, this box is noticeably smaller than the plug’s tail, and it means that my plug’s tail is still in a U shape. I have not been able to get the tails to protrude away from the plug in a straight line. Because they’ve been bent in this box so long, they’re always hanging sideways towards the ground – like a tail off a horse.
The fiber optic “cords” are flexible and floppy. If you’ve ever touched fiber optic cords before, these feel exactly like the ones you’ve touched in the past. The fiber optics operate outside of the vibrations. While the fiber optics will be off unless the vibrations are turned on (more on that below), the fiber optic colors themselves are completely separate from the vibrations. They do their own thing.
The vibrations feel like they’re centered in the middle of the insertable, widest portion of the plug.
I wouldn’t expect much from your vibrations on this one. The vibrations are very high-pitched and buzzy. Throughout this Inyarose Luminous Fiber Optic Anal Plug review, we’ve pretty much stuck to the lowest steady setting or the patterns; we find that the medium and high settings numb his entrance relatively quickly. The patterns help break up the stimulation, and the lowest setting feels the closest to a deeper, thrummier vibration.
Some of the saving grace here may be that a lot of people aren’t likely to be using a butt plug’s vibrations to try to reach orgasm. This butt plug comes with a remote control. This wireless remote control is battery operated (requires CR2032 batteries with one included) and is a simple two-button design. (One button for power, one button for function scrolling).
We find the remote works okay. It stops working as soon as heavier clothing is put on (it’s hard to fault it too much for that; you likely aren’t wearing a gigantic fiber optic tail under a pair of denim pants), but the signal is still spotty even while playing naked. We’ve found that we need to point the remote directly at the plug while naked to get a reliable signal.
This isn’t the end of the world. When playing as a couple, I can regularly face him and point the remote at him to change the settings.
It’s a little weirder for solo play. In a Doggy Style position, while trying to take butt photos with a tripod, the remote requires him to reach around and attempt to point it at his own butthole while still remaining in position.
