Fetdom Breeding Stand Review: What IS It?

Designed specifically to expose a receiving partner for sexual pleasure, the Fetdom Breeding Stand uses bondage to force the user to lay on their back with their ankles high in the air. It does this through ankle bindings, wrist cuffs, and body straps that strap the torso down. If you get really creative with the Breeding Stand, you could likely find other positions to use with it, but everything about its design was crafted to make this “breeding” position as bondage-filled and comfortable as possible.

The Fetdom Breeding Stand will arrive at your home in a very, very thoroughly taped up box that requires assembly. This means the Fetdom Breeding Stand can be disassembled into (mostly) single metal bars (like it came, if you wish), and it can be fully assembled into its final form: a Breeding Stand.

The Fetdom Breeding Stand offers multiple points of adjustability to help you find the perfect fit for your bound partner – and I’ll touch on those bondage points later. The important, unchangeable measurements you need to know before reading this Fetdom Breeding Stand review include:

  • its total height at 56″
  • Its square floor footprint which takes up 31.5″ by 31.5″
  • the height of the laying pad off the ground which is 25″
  • the laying pad itself is 31.5″ in length with a width of 12″
  • the adjustable straps can be expanded up to 60″ in length
  • weight limit for the Fetdom Breeding Stand is 310 pounds
  • the Fetdom bench itself weighs 49.8 pounds – but it’s surprisingly simple to slide across the floor solo

Fetdom Breeding Stand: Contents

The Fetdom Breeding Stand comes with virtually everything you need to build the Fetdom Breeding Stand.

Fetdom Breeding Stand review. A person sitting in the middle of a room while the pieces for the Fetdom Breeding stand are all laid out on the floor in front of them. Many of the black bars look identical.

It includes:

  • Laying bench pad (laid flat in box; your shipping box will be about as large as the laying flat pad)
  • Four bars that make up the laying bench pad support system
  • Six bars that make up the feet/legs of the set
  • One stabilizing bar (can be placed in the front OR back of the Breeding Stand)
  • Three bars that make up the leg holsters
  • Two waist/chest bondage straps (sewn into the laying bench pad)
  • Two wrist cuffs
  • Two chains for wrist cuffs
  • Two double-sided clips for use with wrist cuffs
  • Two ankle bondage horseshoes with fastening equipment
  • Two eyebolts as alternative bondage points
  • All applicable screws/bolts/nuts to put it all together
  • The single allen wrench/hex key you’ll need to put it all together with a small, super thin wrench

No paper instructions are included. Instead, Fetdom will email you digital instructions and an installation video to help guide you along as you build the Fetdom Breeding Stand.

Fetdom Breeding Stand Review: The Adjustability

A good chunk of the Breeding Stand is fully adjustable. This allows you to really customize the breeding stand to the exact needs of the person laying on the Breeding Stand. So, let’s go over all of the various parts of the Fetdom Breeding Stand – and what is adjustable, what isn’t adjustable, the range of how adjustable it is, and how easy it is to adjust:

A) Laying Platform: The padded, laying platform where the person lays is NOT adjustable in any way. It can’t be raised, lowered, or slid along the Fetdom Breeding Stand’s length. This makes the laying platform the most vital piece of the puzzle. Ensure its 25” height is the perfect height for the penetrating partner to achieve penetration while standing or else you might find yourself at a non-starter.

B) Severity of the Leg Angle: See that arch piece that protrudes upwards from the laying platform? That’s where the legs/ankles get bound. The entirety of this square-like protrusion can be moved closer or further away from the laying person’s head. This will change how extreme of an angle the bound person’s legs are at. The specific angle will be unique to your body’s proportions, but in general, closer to the head will make the angle more severe – while moving the square closer to the penetrating partner will loosen the angle.

This is not a quick change, but it can be done within five minutes with some tools. You’ll need to remove all of the screws and then refasten all of the screws in the new position. Essentially, you can do it pre-scene, but this can not be easily adjusted mid-scene while someone has their legs attached to it.

C) Ankle Binding Height: Speaking of the legs, let’s talk about the height where the ankles get bound. This can be adjusted the entirety of the vertical height of that protruding bar (see the built-in silver socket holes?). This allows you to change up where the ankles will be bound depending on your partner’s height and how severely angled the legs are.

Like adjusting the severity of the leg angle, this is not a mid-play fix. It will require removing the supporting horizontal bar – which is the top-most part of the “arch” (some screws) and moving the ankle bondage points (more screws). This one is slightly more complicated, and I’d expect it to take around 5 minutes – maybe a bit more to change up. For everyone’s comfort, it should only be done when the Fetdom Breeding Stand has no people on it.

Enjoy my terribly-drawn, but hopefully helpful!, diagram about the adjustability of the various parts for my Fetdom breeding stand review.

D) Tie-Down Waist Straps: The chest and waist strap on the laying platform feature a seatbelt style clasp that’s adjustable down to the centimeter for a perfect fit. The straps can adjust out to 60 inches long – but if you need/want more space, you may be able to use a seatbelt extender in order to extend its length even further.

These straps can be removed if you’d like. It requires removing the entirety of the pad from the metal supporting pieces, so this definitely needs to be done well outside of play. If the waist straps are there when you start play, they’ll be done until you’re done. (They can easily just hang down on the sides if you don’t want to use them.)

If they’re not being used, they hang underneath the bench. The straps are long enough to get caught underneath the metal feet of the Fetdom Breeding Stand if you physically scoot/move the stand.

E) Ankle Bindings: See those horseshoe-looking contraptions on the uppermost points of the breeding stand? Those are the ankle bindings. They’re actually really fascinating. As you can see in some of the pictures, you unscrew the screw on one side of the ankle binding. This “opens up” the horseshoe from the top – which allows you to put someone’s ankle in it. You then take that horseshoe design and slide it onto the bolt again and rescrew the bolt that fastens it in place. Now, the horseshoe is attached to the Breeding Stand again – only your partner’s ankle is threaded through the horseshoe. (See pictures later in this review)

All of this can be done with just your fingers – though it isn’t necessarily a fast process. It takes about four minutes to get both ankles up – but it depends on how much core strength the bound person has to help alleviate some of the pressure of their legs trying to pull down while you’re trying to fasten them up.

These ankle bindings can be moved anywhere along the upper half of the vertical-most bar of the Breeding Stand. Because of the physical limitations of the body, you’ll probably want to keep them on the uppermost bolts.

The Ankle Bindings, E, move alongside the Ankle Binding Height, C.

As a note, the Fetdom Breeding Stand comes with eyebolts that attach to the vertical leg bar as well. This allows you to use the eyebolts for YOUR choice of ankle restraint if you find that the included horseshoe ankle grips aren’t a good fit for you or your partner.

F) Wrist Bindings: The wrist restraint bondage points can be placed in eight separate spots on the Fetdom Breeding Stand. Most importantly, the wrist bondage points go in whatever spot you didn’t put the stabilizing bar at the bottom of the Breeding Stand while building it. So if you placed the stabilizing bar near the breeding end, you can work with the four bondage points near the head. If you put the stabilizing bar near the head end, you can work with the four bondage points near the breeding end.

Along with that, the Fetdom Breeding Stand comes with two long chains. These long chains attach to your choice of cuffs (double-sided clips). These chains are surprisingly long, and while they’re not quite long enough to reach a comfortable, hands-on-the-tummy position while laying on the bench, they aren’t far off. This gives you a lot of wiggle room to figure out how tight/loose you’d like the wrists to be bound.

And if you want more room? Add on more clips or chains. This one has a simple solution.

If you want to swap the bondage point for the cuffs, it’s as simple as unfastening and refastening a bolt. This can be done while the person is restrained and wearing a cuff, and it can be done within a couple of minutes. More realistically, you’d probably just reclip the double-sided clip to a tighter/looser position along the chain if you’re looking to adjust the tightness of the wrist bondage mid-scene.

Fetdom Breeding Stand Review: Assembly

So, let’s talk assembly. More realistically, let’s talk about how easy it is and how long you can expect.

It took us about an hour and a half from start to finish. We’re talking “physically moving and opening the shipping box” from “someone is bound in the Breeding Stand”.

Fetdom Breeding Stand review. All of the items for the Fetdom Breeding Stand still within their original packaging. Only the laying pad has been removed to show how the set is packaged up.

Most of that build time was not spent being frustrated (thankfully!). Fetdom provides a digital PDF with instructions on how to build the Fetdom Breeding Stand furniture as well as a short video that shows all of the information as well. The instructions clearly look like they were written by a small business with home-taken pictures, but they get the job done.

That being said, the stand’s assembly does feel like it was done by a small business. That isn’t a bad thing, but you don’t get some of the big-business benefits. None of the pieces are individually labeled, and a good chunk of our hour and a half was spent comparing black metal bars to one another (turns out, when they’re all unassembled, everything looks similar!) to figure out which bar is needed for the current construction need. It had hardcore Ikea vibes.

Fetdom Breeding Stand review. Top down shot of the black bars connected to the bottom side of the laying pad. Three of the screws are successfully in their spot, but the four hole is empty - and clearly misaligned from the laying pad that lays underneath the black bars. This will be impossible to fasten together with the hole placed how it is.

During assembly, one of the pre-drilled holes did not line up correctly with the piece it was supposed to fasten to. We tried flipping pieces and loosening bolts as best as possible to see if we could get things to line up, but it was impossible. The hole was about a full inch off of where it should be.

This was brought to the attention of Fetdom’s team who advised us to drill our own hole and be careful while using it as it isn’t as safe as a fully-assembled Breeding Stand.

This is not a great solution, and this would require you to have the tools on-hand to safely modify stainless steel – which is not something a lot of people necessarily have.

Fetdom Breeding Stand review. In-process image of the building of the Fetdom Breeding Stand. The base of the Breeding Stand (with just the legs built) can be seen next to the support frame for the laying pad that is about to be placed on top of the base.

After we noticed the missing bolt, we continued putting it together. Well, “we” is really overselling it. My partner put the Breeding Stand together as a primarily one-person job before helping me by “modeling” for my Fetdom Breeding Stand review. There were a couple of parts where having an added set of hands was really helpful for stability as he placed a bolt, but it would have been doable solo.

You don’t need a giant list of tools either. Just a screwdriver and your fingers, and you’ll pretty much be set to go. Depending on your finger dexterity, you might prefer an additional wrench, too, to tighten things up a bit more.

Fetdom Breeding Stand Review: Portability

We have not tried to take the Fetdom Breeding Stand apart again. We will, most definitely, as we move it to a different spot in the house. My partner, who put it together, said it’s relatively simple to take apart, and he points out that it easily comes apart into a couple of “large” pieces if you want to avoid deconstructing it all the way down to its single bars:

  • The vertical-most arch where the feet are bound
  • The laying pad with its supporting square
  • The left-hand feet and their floor-bar support
  • The right-hand feet and their floor-bar support
  • The single, supporting middle bar that runs between the two legs

Here’s a visual representation of what those five pieces are:

If you take it apart like that, the pieces can be stacked on top of each other in a small pile that’s no bigger than a foot tall. You then can take them out in a trip or two (to your vehicle) to move it where you want it to be. He guesses it’d take about ten minutes to reassemble it again if it’s just those large, pre-built pieces.

So that makes the Fetdom Breeding Stand an a-okay piece to use for kinky play party use. You can tear it down at home and rebuild it at a play party or friend’s house for an evening of fun.

You can also tear down the Fetdom Breeding Stand back into its original, single-bar pieces, but that will take a lot, lot longer to rebuild. It’s worth noting that the Fetdom Breeding Stand does not come with a storage bag or case, and it’s not really designed for regular, easy up and easy down. It just happens to come apart into large frames that work well for reassembling.

With that in mind, the Fetdom Breeding Stand isn’t necessarily going to be a good fit if you need to constantly take your sex furniture up and down each time you want to have sex. It’ll work if you want to move it for special occasions, but this is a piece of kink furniture you should assume will stay left up all of the time. If it helps with discretion, you can remove the top, vertical-most square that supports the ankles, and it can look a bit like an odd, industrial table. We’ve had luck pretending it’s a workout bench.

If you want something with more discretion, I’d recommend swapping over to a different Fetdom product like Stockade Chair for Sitting.

Fetdom Breeding Stand Review: The Weight Limit

It’s honestly surprising to me that a stand made of full stainless steel, high-grade iron has such a low weight limit, but I’m not going to pretend that I’m an engineer. I’m just a sex nerd writing a Fetdom Breeding Stand review.

As such, the Fetdom Breeding Stand has a weight limit of 310 pounds (or 140kg). This is lower than some of my computer desk chairs.

Again, I’m not going to pretend to know why or what is causing the issue, but you should be aware of it to ensure you don’t accidentally harm yourself if you’re over that weight.

Larger bodies will not likely be particularly comfortable on the Fetdom Breeding Stand anyway with the cushion. The laying pad cushion only has a width of 12″. This is tinyyyyy! The standard Liberator Wedge has a width of 24″ – and the “Plus” version of the sex furniture piece has a width of 30″ – just to give you an idea of standard sizes you can find in sex furniture.

My partners who both weigh less than 160 pounds noted that their shoulder blades were near the edges of the cushion, so if you have a larger frame with more weight, this may not be particularly comfortable – regardless of the weight limit on the Fetdom Breeding Stand.

Using the Fetdom Breeding Stand

If you’re looking for a more-affordable-than-alternatives piece of kink furniture that’s designed for bondage during sex, that’s pretty much the Fetdom Breeding Stand in a nutshell.

I highly, highly recommend doing some measurements of the Fetdom Breeding Stand and your own bodies before you order it – especially if you or your partner are tall/heavy OR you’re in a femdom relationship with a male submissive. The Fetdom Breeding Stand was most-definitely built with shorter people’s measurements in mind, and you can see a lot of that in some of that within the pictures of my 6-foot partner who barely weighs 160 pounds.

Same position but with the legs bound in the holsters. Also note the top of the head hanging off the platform.

This means that taller people will need higher flexibility levels in order to use the Fetdom Breeding Stand. Because a taller person has longer legs, getting the legs into their proper spots for the bondage will require more bending than someone with shorter legs. I highly recommend giving the flexibility thing a test before you purchase the Fetdom Breeding Stand. See if the future-bound person can lay on their back with their legs tucked into the air like shown in the pictures.

I’d also recommend measuring where the penetrating partner’s penis is located – from the floor to where the penis is. (Especially for anyone with a biological, unremovable penis) The laying pad, where the laying, bound person is located, is at a set height. Since you’re unable to raise or lower where the receiving partner is laying, this means that the penetrating partner needs to be able to make contact at that specific height.

As you can see from the pictures, pushing back the thighs and ankles can also lead to the receiver’s pelvis tilting – which can elevate the placement of the vaginal canal. Again, some measurements here will be vital because every person’s body frame is going to add extra, just-for-them height to the base height of the bench’s laying pad.

If all of those pieces line up, though, you have an amazing, sex-fueled piece of sex furniture to play with.

And that’s exactly what happened for us. Since the Breeding Stand seems to have been designed for shorter people, it’s actually the perfect height for me (this femdom) to peg my partners. A lot of sex furniture assumes the penetrator is an American male (and therefore, taller) than I am, so most of our previous attempts at sex furniture have been really “off” for me.

Not this one. The Fetdom Breeding Stand has been absolutely perfect at keeping my partner at the right height for pleasure.

As noted, because the stand is designed for smaller bodies, it is a bit more of a squeeze for my partners – who ARE six foot and taller – to get into. It requires a bit of flexibility (and for one of my partners, we have to take it slowly to ensure that he acclimates to the stretch), but once they’re in, it really does position them at the absolute perfect height for pegging. I can’t stress that enough – it really is the perfect height for me.

Fetdom Breeding Stand review. Close-up of the ankle bindings. This angle shows that some parts of the ankle binding are a bit chewed up and don't look as good as new. It also allows you to see the padding that has been added to the ankle binding horseshoe loop for comfort of the user.

The ankle bindings are really unique and really fun. When I first saw the pictures on Fetdom, I assumed they were going to be uncomfortable, but that isn’t the case at all. Both of my partners have remarked about how comfy they are – at least for the breeding session itself (which never lasts over a half an hour). I was worried it might press against bones and tendons of thinner ankles for an uncomfortable sensation, but nope. They both love it. If you don’t like them, you can easily remove them from the Breeding Stand entirely and use your own cuffs.

The waist straps are a neat touch. They’re almost entirely for the bound’s mental benefit. If you have someone’s ankles caught up in these ankle bindings, it’s going to be pretty impossible (unless someone has very small feet) to wiggle out of the bench. Add in the wrist cuffs, and they’re pretty stuck. But wrapping the waist straps around my partner’s torso adds another feeling of inescapable sensations for them, and I’m totally into that.

If you’re not into the waist straps (or find they’re too small for your bound partner’s body), the underside of the Breeding Stand is devoid of excess parts or supports, so you can easily do some saran wrap bondage around the person’s torso to secure them to the laying pad.

Fetdom Breeding Stand review. Seatbelt type restraints wrap around the waist and chest of a person laying in the Breeding stand to hold them in place.

The wrist bondage location is interesting. At first, I really thought it was going to be too out-of-the-way, but once we put my partners in it, I learned I apparently underestimate their wingspan by a large margin. Their wrists easily reach the bondage point for the cuffs, and adding in the included chain, we had a ton of extra room to work with. Just a ton.

I would highly, highly, highly recommend replacing the included cuffs – at least if they still look like the ones that came with my set. These cuffs were extra rough and sharp-edged, and they ended up cutting up skin even just for the few minutes we used them for the display pictures. Luckily, the chain comes with a double-sided clip, so we just substituted our own, comfortable cuffs, and we were good to go.

In general, I’d recommend using wrist cuffs with a soft edge for the Fetdom Breeding Stand. Since there will be tension on the cuffs the entire time the person is wearing it (at least, if you want to make them “feel” the bondage), a soft surface pressing against their skin is going to be how you avoid that cut-up wrist. We have a large variety of cuffs that have worked for this, but my favorites to pull out are soft and neoprene.

Fetdom Breeding Stand review. My hand is holding up the double-sided clip that attached the wrist cuff (of your choice) to the chain that attaches to the wrist bondage point. This image showcases the fact that you can change up the cuffs and tighten and lengthen the bondage by using the length of the chain.

One of my biggest recommendations would be to line up the penetration angle before you start getting your partner fastened and set-up in the Fetdom Breeding Stand. As you can see from some of the display pictures, my partner wasn’t quite on the edge of the Breeding Stand. From our experience, pulling the partner far enough towards the edge that some of the squishy ass flesh hangs a bit past the bottom of the pad is ideal. This means easier access for the penetrating partner – which is important when there’s a giant, metal bar at chest level (for the penetrating partner) that can get in the way of getting deeper into penetration.

Because there are so many bondage points that can be adjusted, getting your partner into this spot BEFORE you start fastening all of the bondage is a serious time saver. When I’ve glanced over the issue before, it usually requires redoing the ankle bindings and wrist cuffs – and might require redoing the waist straps in order to scoot them far enough to the edge. Just make sure you get your partner in the perfect position before doing all of the fastenings to reduce the need to fasten everything.

Once you’re there, though…

Sex on the Fetdom Breeding Stand is a win-win for us both.

My partner gets the feeling of full bondage – and being “used” – while being entirely on display for sex. The extreme angle, the spread legs, and the bondage that makes them unable to change their predicament really has a cumulative, submissive factor to it.

I get a partner who is perfectly lined up for pegging and sex – and I get to see their face and watch their expressions as they float off into subspace from all of the extra restraining simulation while we fuck.

I will say that we, unfortunately, find ourselves tip-toeing around the Fetdom Breeding Stand since it’s missing a pretty vital bolt (due to misaligned bolts we talked about during assembly) for security and safety. We hope to take it to someone who has access to powertools and a garage at some point, but with COVID, a lot of the kink community is pretty inaccessible for in-person interactions at the moment – which definitely isn’t ideal!

Other Uses for the Fetdom Breeding Stand

The Fetdom Breeding Stand is pretty niche in its use. It was designed to achieve one position, and it achieves that position well. There’s a minimal amount of “alternative uses” you can get out of it, honestly.

If you enjoy some standing bondage positions, the ankle area of the Breeding Stand could potentially be used to restrain hands with a bit of creativity while the bound person is standing.

Alternatively, you could remove the vertical-most square (that holds the legs up for breeding) to use the bench as a small spanking stool. This would allow someone to be bent over and put their weight on top of the laying pad of the Fetdom Breeding Stand for easy access to the butt for a spanking.

If you want some Fetdom sex furniture with a wider potential for lots of creative uses, I’d recommend the Fetdom Spanking Bench or their Multifunctional BDSM furniture piece.

However, it’s worth remembering that the standard position for the Fetdom Breeding Stand can be used beyond intercourse. It can be used as a time-out punishment area (the feelings of “exposure” can be pretty hot). It can be used to keep your partner in a decorative position during a kink party. It can easily be used to provide full access while using sex toys on your partner. And honestly, using a sex toy on your partner means you can pull up a chair and have full access while being WAY more comfortable than it ever is on a bed. (It feels a bit like a fisting sex swing like that)

Final Thoughts: Fetdom Breeding Stand Review

While working with Fetdom, I received two separate items from them for review. (This, and the Spreader Bar) Neither item arrived quite as expected. The Spreader Bar came with an incorrect number of cuffs and no carabiners while the Breeding Stand has a hole drilled in the completely wrong spot.

However, both items are selling for well beneath the standard price point for something like this. AND Fetdom has had pretty good customer service for both items. While I was told to drill my own hole to fix the Breeding Stand issue (not great), they did ship out the missing cuffs and carabiners as soon as the Spreader Bar issues were mentioned.

It feels a bit like Fetdom is still in its infancy as a company – which it is – and still ironing out some of the kinks in their systems. At the same time, the company is offering kink/sex furniture at a much lower price than a lot of the sex and kink furniture out there.

Sure, you can probably get a few of these items (like a cage or spreader bar) mass produced by a few companies – but the majority of Fetdom’s furniture options are uniquely designed – and look different – than anywhere else. Some of their items have solely existed in the “custom order” world of kinkster’s basements, and seeing some of these items available for the average kinkster is really fantastic.

So, with that in mind, I’m comfortable recommending the Fetdom Breeding Stand with a few notes:

  • As long as Fetdom’s customer service continues to be responsive. You may consider sending a few preliminary questions to ensure that’s the case.
  • If you’re handy and able to modify metal (okay, not exactly common for most people), I’m even more comfortable recommending their equipment. Nothing seemed to be dangerously made, but it’s possible a mistake in the factory may cause you to need to readjust bolts or holes in the equipment. Fetdom does not appear to send replacement pieces.
  • Measure you and your partner’s heights before getting the Breeding Stand. It definitely runs a bit on the smaller side of things, and it was possibly made for a smaller body frame compared to the average American. This may be especially important if you’re hoping to restrain a male-bodied individual on the frame as my partner’s 6-foot heights were definitely cutting it close for comfort.
  • Your recipient isn’t larger in body frame or weight. The laying panel is relatively slim in size (measure it out for yourselves before ordering to see if that’d be comfortable), and the furniture’s 300 pound weight limit can limit larger-bodied individuals as well.

If all those things line up, the Fetdom Breeding Stand can be fantastic sex furniture at a discount price. All of the different, kink-focused additions really come together to enhance those feelings – while simultaneously making the “breeding bits” easy to access.

For us, we mostly have a piece of sex furniture we’re afraid to use to its fullest potential because it’s missing one of its main, four support screws. We hope to have a friend modify the metal at some point, but it was definitely surprising to find that a replacement piece was not offered to fix the clearly misaligned bolt.
