UPDATE FEBRUARY 2024: This butt plug training kit is no longer in production. However, the basic design has popped up virtually everywhere, and you can find these gem-style plugs at most sex toy stores. While you’re here, why not check out some additional educational info – like online submissive tasks, beginner pegging positions, saran wrap bondage, and enema 101 info.
Designed as an affordable and easy stepping stone into anal play, the Divainner Anal Trainer Butt Plug Kit is a set of three plugs with faux crystal gems in the bases. Available in multiple color options, these plugs are made from silicone and sold straight from the Divainner website. Designed to be waterproof, this three anal plug set comes with a one year warranty. The small butt plug is 2.83″ in length with a diameter of 1.18″. The medium butt plug in the set has a length of 3.22″ and a width of 1.42″. The largest anal plug in the set has a length of 3.74″ with a diameter of 1.65″.
The anal training kit comes packaged in a sturdy cardboard box. Lift off the top of this discreet box (with only the Divainner brand printed on it), and you’ll find the three butt plugs nestled comfortably within a foam liner printed directly for their size. It’s all-black packaging, relatively attractive and luxury-ish looking, and very cohesive. There are no further instructions or packaging included in the kit. Just three butt plugs, and you’re good to go.
All three butt plugs in this anal training kit have the same basic design: a rigid interior for the plug itself (probably plastic) covered by a thinner layer of silicone material. There’s no rigidity inside the “retention area” of the plug (the little stem), and it bends around nicely. The gem is placed at the base of the plug, and the silicone has a lip that “grips” around it and holds it inset to the plug. Each one of the plugs is exactly the same in basic design: they just vary in height and width as the plugs get larger. The specific measurements of the plugs are listed in the first paragraph.
I’m pretty much in love with the silicone that Divainner chose to use for this anal training butt plug set. It’s so damn smooth. It’s soft and silky – honestly, just like the silicone LELO and other luxury brands tend to use. Your hands will glide over it – even without lube, and it’ll feel like a luxury toy to play with. The toy *feels* pretty darn nice – in addition to looking pretty.
As a note, each plug will stand up perfectly straight (and semi-stable) when stood on its base. The gems are pretty flat and inset into the plugs. As you can guess, the “gems” at the base are just plastic craft gems. Probably not a huge “need to know”, but if you were worried about the gems on the bases scratching up your skin or tearing your underwear, well, there’s no reason to worry. They’re entirely smooth and don’t catch on anything. No sharp edges. (Which seems like a “well, duh! that’d be common sense!” thing for a butt plug, but I’ve reviewed butt plugs with sharp edges from the gems. They were entirely unusable.)
As plugs, they work particularly well. The retention area (the stem) is particularly long and helps the plug stay in better. As the plugs don’t weigh much, they don’t tend to “slide” their way out during walking and other standing movements. It’s worth noting that the plugs are relatively short in length – so despite the tapered length, the plugs do get to their larger diameters relatively quickly. This means you should be prepared to be able to take the smallest plug (at 1.18″ in diameter) when you first buy this kit. You can do a *bit* of “working up to the size” with the plug, but with its very small length and the fact that it gets to its thickest point so quickly, so you’ll want to be able to comfortably take it to make the first plug useful. All the plugs slide in very nicely and comfortably with lubricant, and they don’t soak up too much lubricant either. The lube you slather on it will stay around for a decent amount of time.
And how well do they work together as a set? Again, surprisingly well. I think I’d probably argue that the small and medium plug should be somewhat larger and leave the large where it is, though. The smallest one is barely over an inch in diameter. This is two fingers’s worth of size compared to my hands. Most people will quickly graduate from something this small – and will likely spend a decent chunk of time on the Medium size before being able to take the largest. The plugs aren’t *too* far apart in size, though, to be unrealistic for training. If you stick with it and use lots of patience (especially with the largest size), you should be able to make it to the largest size of the kit.
That being said, the largest size, as mentioned above, has a diameter of 1.65″. This is about on-par with the size of a lot of biological penises. If the penis you’re looking to have sex with is particularly thick, this plug might still be a bit too on the thin side to get you prepped entirely for that. However, the largest plug should be a reasonable size if you’re using this anal training kit for anal sex or pegging preparation. Just remember that human flesh is a lot more forgiving than the extremely rigid walls of these silicone butt plugs.
My only big “pet peeve” about the plugs is that the crystals on the bases are different colors. If I bought something for the beauty of the crystal, I’d want all three crystals to be the same. Instead, it appears Divainner went with a color coding system for the plugs. The small has a white gem, but when you want to use the medium, you get a light purple gem. The large has a dark purple gem.
Cleaning silicone toys is usually pretty darn easy; it is with this waterproof anal training kit too. Just use warm water and a mild soap. Make sure to pay particularly close attention to the seal around the gem and the base of the plug, but don’t be too rough around that area (as you may cause the seal to break. More below). It’s worth noting that the manufacturer says to never boil the plugs. As boiling non-electric silicone toys is a pretty standard place for sanitization, that’s a bit of an odd request. Boiling may begin to degrade the adhesive they used to attach the gems; I don’t know. They’re simple and very easy to clean.
As these toys are made from silicone, only use water-based lubricant – no silicone-based for these little guys. And when you’re done playing, the box is honestly a wonderful place to store them. They stay pretty well-contained, the box is decently sturdy, and it’s discreet.
As a final note, it isn’t *too hard* to break the seal around the gems at the base of the plugs. Just a little bit of pulling along the edges of the plug with my finger broke the seal on a corner of one of the plugs. This is not the end of the world. However, I imagine the seal is what helps keep bacteria out of the crevice of the gem – and helps seal the gem into the plug. For the price, you shouldn’t expect these plugs to last a lifetime, and that’s about what this seal breaking shows. It’ll likely be awhile until the seals break on yours with regular use, but sooner or later, they will end up breaking. The gem may fall out, or you might need to take care for cleaning the seams around the edges of the gem.
The point is: the Divainner Anal Butt Plug Anal Trainer Set is a fantastic set for training yourself for anal sensations. The plugs are comfortable, non-threatening, affordable, and pretty darn cute. However, they aren’t going to last you a lifetime. You should consider these plugs a good (and relatively safe and affordable) way to play with an anal training kit that should last you just long enough to figure out what you like, train your body for larger sizes, and consider picking up a higher-quality toy. But until that time comes, I genuinely would recommend this Butt Plug Training Kit to most newbies looking for a cheap anal toy. Thanks to DivaInner for sending out this anal plug training kit for my Divainner Anal Trainer Kit Set of 3 Butt Plugs review.
