Tantus Severin Super Soft Butt Plug Review

Tantus Severin Super Soft Butt Plug Review

One of the newest additions to their “Super Soft” line, the Severin Super Soft is a plushier, squishier version of the Tantus Severin butt plug. Available in small, medium, and large sizes, the Severin Super Soft butt plug is made from the same silicone material that has made Tantus famous. The Large, which is the plug featured in this review, has a length of 5.25″ with a diameter of 2.5″ at the widest point.

The Severin Super Soft comes in similar packaging to the rest of the Tantus line. There’s a cardboard box that holds the dildo safely within its plastic clamshell packaging. The box explains the basic features and care instructions of your butt plug, and it allows you an (aaaaalmost) 360-degree look at your new toy before you open it. Like most of the Tantus boxes I have, though, the box tears apart while attempting to open it, so you’ll want to store your new silicone butt plug somewhere else.

This particular butt plug is part of Tantus’ new “Super Soft” line. As you can guess, this type of silicone was designed to be a lot softer than Tantus’ usual silicone line-up. As Tantus usually uses an extremely, extremely firm silicone, yes, the Super Soft line is actually much softer and squishier. It’s worth noting, however, if you’re used to “soft” formulas from other silicone sex toy companies, the “Super Soft” from Tantus is not going to be as expected. The Tantus Super Soft is soft – for Tantus toys. It, however, is not “Super Soft” when compared to most of the silicone sex toy world at large.

That being said, the Severin Super Soft is definitely still on the firmer side of silicones. It has a lot more squish to it, but it still holds its shape really well, and it isn’t going to fold into thirds from the softness. The silicone isn’t a matte, slippery silicone. Instead, the Severin Super Soft is a pretty tacky, “sticks to your skin” type of silicone. It’s the type of silicone that tends to “absorb” lubricant and tends to require multiple applications of lubricant (compared to smooth silicones). This type of silicone also tends to pick up hair really easily. Just sitting upright on my desk after its last cleaning, it currently has gained three hairs, some white piece of paper, and multiple little white specks (crumbs?). This is one of those plugs that’ll need a wash pretty much every time you want to use it – regardless of storage method.

Now, as mentioned above, this particular plug is the “Large” version. You definitely need to take note of the measurements – and then check them again – before ordering the “Large” version. This is not a small. My partner and I *enjoy* anal stretching, and the Severin Super Soft is one of the largest toys we own – and we have quite a few Bad Dragon toys. This is definitely one of the few options that Tantus has that’s definitely designed for the “anal stretching enthusiasts” club. This plug is noticeably larger than most “average-sized” plugs, and again, make sure you have a very good idea of exactly how large this is before ordering it.

That being said, the size doesn’t feel quite “as big” during insertion because of the Super Soft silicone material design. The silicone has a lot more plushiness and softness than many of the Tantus toys. It’s still not nearly as soft as the softest silicone formulations of a lot of other sex toy companies, but it’s noticeably softer and squishier than a lot of the Tantus offerings. Because the material is squishy, inserting the 2.5″ diameter doesn’t always feel quite as intense as if it was rigid with no give. This is really for the best. Don’t worry; the plug still feels just as filling when you’ve managed to insert it.

On that note, I’m pretty fond of the design of this butt plug for such a large toy. While the plug is noticeably “long” (over 5″ in length as a plug!), it’s built with such a design that makes it a good stretching plug – which is a good thing when you consider its large size! The plug is noticeably split into three “areas” – and the small indentation at the end of each area is a pretty nice resting point for the butt when you’re doing a stretching insertion. Each spot is a nice comfortable spot where the butt doesn’t constantly try to push the plug out without pressure – which is nice for taking a break before continuing to push the plug in. It really does help a lot with getting the entirety of the plug inserted when it’s such a large size.

I’m also fond of the Tantus Severin for “stretching” purposes. The neck of this butt plug is particularly thick – which helps stretch out the butt a little bit more – even when the plug is inserted. It definitely increases the intense sensations and sensations of “fullness” compared to plugs that use small retention stems.

Now, this is where that plug length pops up. You’re going to want to be careful with where and how you’re wearing this plug. The length isn’t nearly as long as an “average” dildo, but it is much longer than a butt plug. That means that, if you have a small body, a shallow S-curve internally, or just are sitting on a hard surface, the tip of this plug can definitely “poke” you internally in a very uncomfortable, somewhat-painful manner. For example, when he’s wearing the plug, we have issues if he sits on his computer chair while the toy is inserted, but if he lays down on the soft couch, the discomfort disappears. Basically, if you plan on wearing this plug out-and-about to your local wooden-bench brewery, make sure you’ve done some test runs at home to make sure your body tolerates that. It *is* a pretty darn long butt plug.

Tantus toys are always easy to clean – and they’re designed to last a long, long time. Warm water and anti-bacterial soap will get this big butt plug cleaned. Since it’s non-electrical silicone, though, you can also sterilize it through boiling water or running it through the dishwasher. In fact, Tantus has instructions on their page about how to “bake” your toys too – if they ever develop an anal smell. It’s kinda awesome stuff. That being said, silicone doesn’t play particularly well with silicone-based lubricant, so you’ll need to use water-based lubricant with the Severin. Some types of silicone-based lube could permanently destroy your toy. Storage options are up to you, but you should be aware that the semi-tacky nature of this silicone’s feel will make it pretty darn susceptible for picking up lots of hair and lint. Regardless of any storage method, it’ll still probably need a bath before playing with it.

Overall, the Severin Super Soft in Large is going to be a good fit for someone who loves deep and wide butt plugs – and enjoys the ability to insert the toy slowly. I’m not particularly fond of the plug’s tacky silicone texture, but it does allow the plug to be squishier and more fun to play with. If you enjoy the feeling of fullness and love Tantus toys, the Severin Super Soft could be one of the best Tantus butt plugs for you. They don’t come much bigger than this from Tantus! Thanks to Tantus for providing this thick butt plug for my Severin Super Soft butt plug review.
