Truth or Dare, A Game of Passion, is your average Truth or Dare game intended just for two players sold by Spankys XXX. The game includes 50 Truth cards, 50 Dare cards, and a die to roll that says “Truth”, “Dare”, and “Wild”. The dice is a regular-sized dice. The cards are made from high-quality laminated cardboard (and are sometimes stuck together the first time you play), and are two inches across and four inches tall which makes them slightly skinnier (but the same height) of your average playing card. The cards are extremely comfortable to hold in your hand. The color scheme of the entire set seems to be set between pink/white/red, so it looks romantic, but not too girly either.
The packaging is actually really attractive. It’s a nice, connected-top box. The outside is slightly padded so it feels nice and high-quality when you carry it or touch it. The box doesn’t actually seal shut, so if you turn this box upside down, you will lose all of the contents inside. Once the box is opened up, the bottom tray includes two holes for the Truth/Dare cards as well as a hole for the dice to rest into. In order to get the cards out more easily, the manufacturers put a small silk ribbon that sticks out from underneath the cards. The top-side (or bottom of the top, however you look at it) includes the instructions on how to play. All of the pieces go back into this box for easy storage.
This game is intended for two romantically involved players. Yes, you could get away with playing with more players, but almost all of the Dares and Truths include a “Do this to your partner”, talk about this With your Partner. If you have a group of people that includes multiple partner pairings, you can play that way. Or you can just ignore the “Partner” piece and pick a random player to perform the action on or to tell the truth about. That having been said, some of these Dares are pretty racy/time-consuming, so if you are playing in a group setting, you will have to filter out some of the cards to keep it from moving too slowly or moving in too intimate a direction.
The directions of the game are pretty simple. You roll the dice at the beginning of your turn, and do what side it lands on (Truth/Dare). If it lands on “Wild”, you get to pick either one AND you can choose to make your partner do it instead of yourself as well. That’s really about it. There’s really no way to “Win” this game, just like there isn’t any way to win the real truth or dare. All of the questions are meant to bring your sex life closer together, and most of the dares require some sort of sexual activity. The game basically ends when you two start ignoring the game – which when you think about it is an odd way to play a game, but that’s how it goes. The dice itself has an equal amount of each side, but since the words are written in cursive, it can be slightly difficult to read the words unless you pick up the dice. It’s not a large deal though.
The game took us about forty minutes to play with other people. After that, we had gotten tired of the game. It’s not a bad game – not in the slightest, but after so many truths/dares that don’t relate to a group of people, it can be a bit boring. Afterwards, when both the boyfriend and I played it, we went about the same amount of time with playing, but we stopped because we’d just had enough of the dares – not because we were bored. It’s a neat little game, but it does require a bit of time to sit down and play. (Not as much as other games though.) It’s neat to go back and forth asking the questions/dares. However, most of this game is sex-centered, so while it’s fun for sex, this isn’t the best game to feel more romantic with your partner.
For a Truth or Dare game, the cards are pretty wordy. Normally you’d expect a couple sentences or less, but these go on for about a full paragraph. It explains what it wants you to answer/do in detail. Most of the truth questions includes multiple parts to the question, and most of the dares have quite a bit of detail put into them. The truth questions are usually pretty easy to answer and have to do with sex. The dare questions usually do require a bit of effort to successfully pull off though – they normally require getting some extra household object or getting up and moving away from the game. The cards are pretty high-quality though with a neat design on the back, so they should last awhile and look attractive to play with. It’s obvious some effort was put into the game – these aren’t just Cosmo-esque suggestions.
So, I know you guys are totally waiting to read some of the examples. I always have to indulge you. Some examples of the Dare cards:
“Role-Play: We all remember the ups and downs of our school days. Unluckily for you, little student, it’s been a tough day at school – you’re about to receive a failing grade from your teacher. You have asked for a private meeting to discuss your grade. Now is your chance to do everything you can to convince your teacher that you deserve to pass.”, “Call a relative and fit the words “Whip”, “suckle” and “climax” into your conversation. You have a five-minute time limit to complete this dare. Be careful not to call that one relative who keeps you on the phone for an hour!”, “It’s time to put on your dancing shoes. Perform an impromptu lap dance for your partner. Pretend he or she is the client and you are their private dancer. Your partner will choose the music and length of time you will perform.” That’s it. Remember, that’s only three out of the fifty different dares the game includes. Lots of variety including role-plays, dares, sensual touching, and silly dares are included.
Now for the Truths: “Name a sex toy you have longed for but have not had the nerve to buy or yourself. If you haven’t considered anything yet, name something you think would be fun to try.” “What was the most intense sexual experience you ever enjoyed with a partner? What made is so memorable? Would you do it again?” “If you were open to the possibility of a threesome, who would be your third ideal participant? What would you do if given this opportunity?”, “When you were younger, what was the sexual fantasy you replayed most often in your mind? Who or what inspired this fantasy?” Again, those are just four of the total fifty Truths. Some good questions in here, though most are sexual in nature. A lot are ones you may not have thought to ask your partner.
For the most part, we really enjoyed playing this XXX Truth or Dare game. It was fun, sexual, and made for a nice evening of giggling and playing. The game comes in a nice box that it will easily store in, and I’m looking forward to pulling this out in the future too.
