The latest in portable, suction vibrator toys, the Womanizer Liberty offers all of the fun you know and love about Womanizer suction sex toys in a small, portable package. Sold by SheVibe, this palm-sized toy is about 4 inches in length with a thickness of slightly over two inches. So yes, definitely palm-sized. This waterproof suction vibrator is fully rechargeable via USB, and it’s entirely waterproof for simple cleanings. It offers six intensity levels of steady suction, and it has a removable lid that makes the toy more discreet when not in use.
Like most Womanizer toys, the Womanizer Liberty comes in some gorgeous packaging. It’s a bright pink, very-friendly-looking box with the Liberty cleared displayed through a see-through “window”. Pulling the ribbon opens up the box – which reveals the toy, the toy’s lid, the USB charging cable, an additional tip in a larger size for larger clitorises (clitorii?), a drawstring black bag, and a thick little instruction manual.
If you’ve hung around me on sex toy forums – or just in person – you know that I pretty much can’t stop recommending Womanizer toys. I’m still madly in love with my original Womanizer W100 (back when they named their toys in that stupid manner), and I absolutely love my Womanizer Plus too. Womanizer (obviously) hasn’t stopped with the releases, though, and when I saw the Womanizer Liberty hit the market, I wanted one. My Womanizer W100 is relatively travel-friendly (especially with the original cases that the company used to include with them), but the Womanizer Plus definitely isn’t the easiest to travel with, and the idea of having a Womanizer – but in a slim, small package that discreetly tucks into a bag? That sounds amazing.
And that’s exactly what the Womanizer Liberty is. It’s the same Womanizer sucking vibrator technology that you know and love – but packaged into a much-smaller package – with a vibrator that has a “lid” to make the toy look much more discreet at first glance. The lid attaches itself magnetically. The “magnet” that holds the lid in place isn’t particularly strong, and if you’re doing a lot of jostling around in a bag where your Womanizer Liberty is, the lid can get knocked off decently easily.
Instead of the plug-in charging design that a lot of the Womanizer toys use, the Womanizer Liberty uses a magnetic charging area. Just slide the magnet onto the magnetic charging area, and the vibrator will charge itself. You can charge it while the lid is on – just for more discretion while in a hotel room or things like that. The magnets are decently strong, and I’ve never had any issue with them disconnecting. In fact, if you really want to, you can “lift” the entirety of the vibrator up by just the magnetic charging cable. It’s a pretty strong connection. The website claims about two hours of use off a single charge. I’ve never run into it dying mid-use, and I like to use toys for looooong periods of time.
What’s important about the Womanizer Liberty is the suction strength – and the noise. The suction strength is stronger-than-average. When partnered with the suction capabilities of the Womanizer Liberty, it’s still more-than-enough for easy orgasms for me. As I’ve read (and talked to) multiple people who say that they can orgasm on the lightest settings of the Womanizer without much of an issue, I’d say that the Womanizer Liberty still provides above-and-beyond intensity that many clitoris-owning people are going to need.
That being said, it’s worth noting that the Womanizer Liberty does not go into as high of intensity levels as the full-size Womanizer toys. It’s still strong, but I’d say it’s only about 75% of the intensity of the Womanizer Plus full-size toy. That’s still, like I said, quite a bit of power, but if you’re used to using every ounce that the Womanizer full-size toys give you, you might find the Womanizer Liberty underwhelming. It’s still quite a bit of power, but with the smaller size and cheaper price tag, it doesn’t have every ounce of it.
Next up, we have the noise. The Womanizer Liberty isn’t the quietest of the Womanizer line. Like all suction vibrator toys, it gets much quieter once you have the proper “seal” against the body. It’s still not 100% quiet. It’s loud enough that, even with a seal, you can hear it in the same room. You wouldn’t be able to hear it outside of a closed door – like the bathroom of the hotel or the hotel room itself. But it’s not a toy you can use discreetly in a public restroom and expect the people in the stall next to yours not to be able to hear (unless it’s a very loud bathroom with constant activity).
The Womanizer Liberty does run into a bit of issue with its small size. It’s not the end of the world, but the small size does mean you’ll need to spend a bit of time trying to figure out how to hold it. The metallic coloring on the outside of the Womanizer Liberty sucking vibrator is a beautiful color, but it’s also surprisingly slick. Like, amazingly so. Near the area of the body where there’s lots of slickness, this can become problematic. I recommend getting a firm grasp on the toy before you slide it into the area – and maybe have something nearby to wipe your hands if they get slick. Once you add slickness to attempting to hold the vibrator, it’s surprisingly difficult. Some textured bumps along the handle-side of the toy would have quickly fixed that up, and I’m surprised that it doesn’t have any.
Another alternative is “cupping” the toy up against the body with zero regards for using a handle, but that makes it a lot harder to provide the exact pressure and pinpoint location that you might want with a suction vibrator toy (versus a plain vibrating toy).
All things considered, the Womanizer Liberty works exactly for what it needs to do. The lid makes it an okay “toss in the purse for when you need it” type of item, and while it’s not the easiest or strongest vibrator in the world, it’s still leagues above the power and orgasm capabilities of most bullet vibrators – or other pocket vibrating toys. I wish it was easier to get a good grip on it, and I occasionally (very rarely!) feel like I want more power out of it, but it’s still enough power for me to orgasm from it every time I pull it out. At the price range (half of many of the other Womanizer models) and its functionality (great for travel and taking with you), it works for what it needs to do.
Cleaning the Womanizer Liberty is a lot easier than some of the Womanizer toys. And why is that? Well, it’s waterproof. The addition of the magnetic charging means that the Womanizer is fully water-safe. The Womanizer Liberty comes with the removable heads – like all Womanizer toys – but you don’t have to be careful about cleaning around the head attachment point. You can pull off the full tip of the toy, or you can choose to clean the toy with the tip on (though make sure to clean really thoroughly around the tip’s seams!). Either way, it makes clean-up much less stressful. Even if you’re dealing with hotel bar soap, you don’t have to worry so much about clean-up. With so many smooth surfaces, the Womanizer Liberty is simple to soap up and clean – especially with the added waterproof capabilities.
The Womanizer Liberty is kinda “travel-friendly” by design, but Womanizer also includes a small drawstring pouch – which will reduce the likelihood of the lid slipping off. If you want to use lubricant, I’d highly recommend against it (as it’ll make the likelihood of gripping the toy easily even harder), but water-based is the only type of lube you should use with this portable Womanizer.
(As a sidenote, I’m really disappointed in the instruction manual for the Womanizer. It’s a large little black-and-white-booklet in an insane amount of languages, but the actual information is pretty slim. It doesn’t include any information about charging times or cleaning information. It does include use instructions, but I expect better from you, Womanizer.)
Overall, I assumed I’d give up some of the “full-size” Womanizer features in order to have the toy in a smaller package, and that’s very true. While the Womanizer Liberty doesn’t have as much power as its full-size counterparts, it still offers a decent amount of strength – especially on the 5th and 6th power levels. Figuring out how to hold the vibrator will take a bit of trial and error, but once you do, you have a small, portable suction vibrator with a good amount of power that’s easy recharged – and easily cleaned.
