Crave DUET Vibrator Review
Crave DUET Vibrator with case

The Crave DUET vibrator is a small, USB-rechargeable vibrator. Made from body-safe metal and silicone, the Crave DUET was designed as a luxury vibrator. Along with being waterproof and available in multiple colors, some varieties of the Crave DUET includes a USB storage device right inside the vibrator itself. At slightly over four and a half inches long with a diameter of slightly over an inch, the vibrator is pretty slim, and it easily fits onto the hand.

The new tip on the Crave DUET Vibrator

For those of you that regularly read Kinky World, you might be wondering why I’m reviewing the Crave DUET again as I’ve reviewed it in the past. (Read my Crave DUET vibrator review ). Crave contacted me and let me know that they have changed up the silicone tip to the vibrator after suggestions from users. This is definitely something I love! I love seeing when sex toy companies listen to feedback from users and change their products accordingly. Due to the previous tip being a bit too “clampy” and too “tight” for some (myself included), this new tip is now being offered to all original owners of the Crave DUET to change how you use your vibrator. This new tip has a wider inner gap and softer edges. You can request the Crave DUET tip on their website.

Along with this, Crave changed some aspects of the DUET as well. Along with the tip, there has been an increase in the power of the vibrator as well.

Showing the two halves of the Crave DUET Vibrator

Just like with the previous generation, the Crave DUET charges via USB. The USB port is actually contained INSIDE the vibrator, and the two pieces pull apart to show off the USB inside. This easily plugged into my computer with no problems or issues. The vibrator takes about one and a half hours to fully charge, and on a full charge, it can last up to 2 hours. Along with this, to avoid that annoyance of a vibrator dying mid-use, the Crave DUET pulses at the beginning of every start-up to let you know how much battery life is left in it. So you know if you need to charge it after-use or whatever you want to do.

Controlling this vibrator is pretty similar to how the first generation was controlled. It has three buttons on the base of the vibrator. There’s a + button, a – button, and the pattern/on/off button. The middle pattern button turns the vibrator on and off while the + and – easily change the patterns. Along with that, the Crave DUET includes a new “Turbo” mode. After turning the vibrator up to the strongest setting, you can hold the + button down for three seconds, and the vibrator will get a noticably stronger vibration. This will continue until you press another button on the vibrator. So you could just consider it the strongest vibration setting and use it constantly, or you could just use it as that final push to get to orgasm. It’s definitely noticably stronger than the vibration level before it, though.

The vibrations did get a noticable power adjustment. It definitely is more powerful than the original Crave DUET vibrator. The vibrations still aren’t too intense, but they are definitely more powerful than your standard bullet vibrators. I’d say that they’re pretty “middle of the line”. Not too strong, but they aren’t too weak either. They are very surface-type vibrations, though, so that’s something to keep in mind. Along with that, despite the addition of a stronger motor, the Crave DUET Generation 2 is still very quiet, and it’s even hard to heard the vibrator working while I’m holding it in my hand, so that’s definitely a positive.

How much you’ll enjoy the vibrations really depends on your body as well as what type of vibrations you like. The vibrations on the Crave DUET are more on the surface-buzzy side. They aren’t too rumbly. And the vibrations transfer through the tip relatively well. I DO love the newly-designed tip for the vibrations though. In the previous version, the tip would always be too “clampy”, and because it was so tight, it didn’t really give the tips anyway to ‘vibrate’, so the sensation was always minimal. With the new design, the tips aren’t nearly as clampy, so the two arms of the vibrator have more room to move around, and as such, they provide more noticable vibrations. Compared to the original tip, this is a huge improvement, and it makes the vibrator much more enjoyable to use.

I still can’t orgasm from the vibrations though. I think it’s because I enjoy more rumbly and deep vibrations. Because of that, the surface-buzzing vibrations of the Crave DUET end up feeling too little for me. They work as a tease, and they still feel pretty nice, but they’re not something that would lead to an easy orgasm for me. Depending on your responsiveness to vibrations, though, it could work for you. Really, though, the tip plus the stronger vibrations do make a difference. The tip is much, MUCH better than the previous tip, and I can actually use it in the”clamping” like design that the vibrator was originally designed for. On the previous version, I couldn’t because the vibrator’s arms clamped too much.

Crave DUET Vibrator
My Crave DUET Vibrator is customized. I <3 it.

The Crave DUET is only waterproof when the two halves are pushed firmly together, so keep that in mind. The Crave DUET is supposed to be waterproof up to 100 feet as well, so you can use it in the shower or bath if you want to without any concern. (Or possibly in your pool even! Or…an ocean… 100 feet is a pretty large depth) To clean it, make sure it’s fully assembled and then use a mild soap and water. Because this vibrator is made from silicone, it’s only compatible with water-based lubricants, so keep that in mind. For storage, I definitely recommend keeping it in the leather storage pouch that this vibrator comes with. However, the silicone is extremely slick and smooth, and it doesn’t pick up hair or lint, so you don’t have to be too careful about keeping it covered up.

Overall, the Crave DUET vibrator Generation 2 has made some good changes. The stronger motor definitely makes a difference, and I definitely love the new tip much, much more than the old tip. Crave made some good change with this second generation, and while the vibrations are still a bit too surface-buzzy for me, if you don’t need rumbly-type vibrations or are moderately sensitive to vibrations, the Crave DUET could be strong enough for you. Thanks to Crave for sending me this USB vibrator for my Crave DUET vibrator review.
