The Crave DUET vibrator is a small, USB-rechargeable, silicone vibrator. Including 4 vibration patterns as well as made from body-safe metal and silicone, the Crave DUET is designed to be a luxury vibrator for the bedroom. Waterproof and available in both crimson and black, the Crave DUET is designed to be a new vibrating experience. While not the ones sold on EdenFantasys, some Crave DUET versions include a USB storage drive right in the vibrator itself. The vibrator is slightly over four and a half inches long with a diameter of slightly over an inch.
The packaging is probably the first thing that will amaze you. As explained on the packaging, the Crave DUET doesn’t believe in excess waste, and as such, all of the instructions for your vibrator are right on the inside of the packaging. Further instructions can be reached online at an included URL in the packaging. Personally, I rarely keep around the instructions anyway (for sex toys, anyway; I ALWAYS want printed copies of computer instruction books yet computers stopped included them!), so I’m glad to see the reduction in waste. The Crave DUET also comes with a small, leather, zip-up pouch which easily allows you to store your toy. This pouch opens and closes easily, and I’m pretty fond of it.
One thing I DID notice is that the instructions really don’t mention that the toy pulls apart. I’d seen previous marketing about the design, so I knew it did, but none of the instructions or the packaging made mention of that was how you charged it. For someone who receives this as a gift or something similar, I’m pretty sure you’d be confused. I wish that was included on the packaging.
The DUET has a pretty simple design. It basically has a simple, plastic, metal base with two silicone “hands” towards the top. Each one of the silicone hands does have some flexibility to it – they two little hands can pull apart from one another semi-easily (as they were built to do so), but don’t try to pull them too far apart. I can fit a finger in between the two, but it’s a tight fit, so it really doesn’t go too much larger than that. The DUET pulls apart at the silicone portion and the metal portion, and inside the metal portion, there’s a USB drive that allows you to charge the vibrator. The DUET is waterproof if the two portions are tightly secure against one another.
Charging the DUET is a pretty simple process. The pretty silver-like portion and the silicone-portion actually pull apart in the middle. Hidden inside this middle is a USB, and this can plug straight into your computer (much like a jump drive!) to charge. You can press a button on the DUET and it will let you know how much the vibrator is charged. According to the instructions, the Crave DUET vibrator takes about two hours to reach full charge which will give you 45 minutes of continuous highest-setting use. I did notice that the USB for the DUET is a bit large USB-wise. With two USB ports sitting side-by-side, it did require unplugging the adjacent item in the USB port because otherwise the DUET wouldn’t fit in the USB port. This is something to consider if you’re a bit short on USB ports, but I can’t imagine that it will bother most people too much.
The one sold on EdenFantasys is the DUET that does not include any USB storage. Some of the versions can include USB storage. However, the price for those, because of the material that they’re made from, insanely skyrockets. Like, expect to pay over double the price of this already-high-priced luxury vibrator if you want 16 gigs of space. So unless you really want the other material choices (they do look kinda pretty!), there’s really no reason to upgrade past this initial model unless having a USB drive inside your sex toy really intrigues you.
The DUET has a very unique style. Unlike other “surround” clitoral vibrators, these Crave DUET seems to have a design that is more meant to “clamp” onto the clitoris versus just sit around it. This is a good or bad thing. If you’re used to clitoral clamps and really enjoy that intense clamping, this could be great. However, if you were just thinking the little arms would rest “around” your clitoris, the design really doesn’t support that nearly as well as it should since the two DUET arms will “clamp” back down when separated. If you have an especially large clitoris, this may lead to some serious intensity that you may or may not have prepared for.
I personally wasn’t all that fond of the clamping sensation. I quickly abandoned the idea of using the two prongs as they were designed as the clamping was too intense for me. However, as stated below, not “clamping” the vibrations tended to produce some vibrational surges during use. I just would have preferred if the vibrator wasn’t designed for the clamping at all and just had two prongs that DIDN’T semi-connect in the middle.
The vibrations for the Crave DUET vibrator are as quiet as advertised. It can be hard for me to hear the vibrations while I’m holding the toy. However, that does lead to relatively weak vibrations that are on the soft side. The vibrations are strongest when you’re clamping the toy onto something, but even then, with the pressure applied, the vibrations are buzzy and may not be enough for orgasm for most people. They are definitely okay for a tease, and if you’re very sensitive to vibrations, they could be enough for orgasm, but I’m not sure the intensity of the vibrations would lead to orgasm for most.
Something I did notice about the Crave DUET is the fact that the vibrations can be a bit wonky. It really depends on how you use your vibrator. If you take the time to place your clitoris between the two prongs, it tends to be relatively steady and reliable. If you use the DUET like a “regular” vibrator and just hold the two prongs against your body, the vibrator sometimes surges. I personally don’t mind the surging too much, but as the DUET actually does include pattern modes, it’s a bit odd that the steady vibration mode will actually turn into patterns as well depending on how you use it.
The Crave DUET vibrator is only waterproof when the two pieces are pushed firmly against each other. Keep this in mind when cleaning. To clean it, make sure it is fully assembled, and then use a mild soap and water. Make sure to dry it off before charging or pulling the pieces apart. The Crave DUET is only compatible with water-based lubricants, and for best battery life, you should recharge the DUET straight after each use. It doesn’t pick up hair or lint, so you can really store it however you want. Keeping it in its black pouch, though, works really well.
Overall, the Crave DUET is a vibrator that will appeal to a smaller subset of people, but I don’t think it’s a vibrator for everyone. The price mixed with the fact that the vibrations are soft and the clamping sensation can be intense make this a vibrator that isn’t just your average sex toy. Unless you know those things would interest you, though, I’m going to have to say to skip it. If you want a small, quiet clitoral vibrator, I’d have to recommend the We-Vibe Tango instead.
