Looking for the toy that reigned supreme as the top of Womanizer’s product line for years? Welcome to my Womanizer Premium 1 review. Available in multiple colors (to suit your preference), the Womanizer Premium offers the most features out of any Womanizer toy – including the widest range of pleasure intensities.

While the Womanizer Premium’s main focus is providing 12 intensity levels, it also happens to offer other features that make it fantastic too: Autopilot, Smart Silence, Magnetic Rechargeability, Interchangeable Heads, and Waterproof capabilities.

The Womanizer Premium features four separate buttons on the air suction vibrator to control the toy. It has a power button, on/off feature, and a dedicated button for Autopilot 2.0.

(Every Womanizer Premium comes with two separate tips/heads too! If you need something smaller/large, just swap them out on the top of the toy!)

Haven’t heard of sucking vibrators? Pleasure Air (which is Womanizer’s proprietary term on the sensation) never directly touches the clitoris. Instead, the tip of this toy surrounds the clitoris (your clit goes inside it!). When the toy is turned on, the toy gently sucks – which provides a small air suction chamber inside the tip. This now allows everything inside the tip to get gently sucked over and over without ever placing physical pressure on top of the clitoris. It’s a really different type of stimulation!

I have the Black/Gold version – which is pictured in this Womanizer Premium 1 review.

Womanizer Premium 1 Review: Let’s Talk about Smart Silence

One of the biggest features of the Womanizer Premium is Smart Silence. This feature causes the Womanizer Premium to go into standby when it isn’t pressed against skin. As stand-by is silent – while the toy makes noise when it’s being used – it effectively ensures the Womanizer Premium only makes noise when you’re actively using it for pleasure.

It works fantastically. I’m not going to pretend I know what the sensors run off of (I don’t), but it pops on anytime my finger or body is within an inch or two of the toy. Even if a finger is near the tip, the Premium will pop on. When the vibrator is pulled away from skin, it turns off within a second; there’s virtually no delay. So, if you’re someone who regularly needs to “emergency off” your sex toys, there’s really nothing better out there than Smart Silence.

Oh, and after five minutes of non-activity, the Womanizer Premium shuts itself off to conserve battery life, so there’s no worry about it “stand-by”‘ing itself to death.

(Worth Noting: Smart Silence is activated by default. This means you might be trying to turn on the toy – and get frustrated that it won’t turn on. It’s very possible that it’s on – but you haven’t pressed it onto your body to get it to actually activate; try pressing a finger to the tip of the Womanizer while turning it on in order to have it respond the way you’re expecting!)

If you’ve never used an air suction vibrator, you may not know: air suction vibes tend to be loudest when they’re not wrapped around a clitoris (or other area of the body). However, when that same sound is pressed firmly against the skin, it softens drastically. That holds true with the Womanizer Premium as well.

On the lower settings, you might not see much of a need for Smart Silence. The quieter settings are so soft that you could likely hide them while someone else was in the same room as long as there was some sort of background noise (like TV or music). And that’s WITHOUT the sucking vibrator being touched on skin. With the Womanizer Premium pressed against the skin, they’re extremely quiet.

If you’re someone who makes it up to intensity 12 (the strongest), however, you’ll be thankful you have Smart Silence. When intensity 12 is running and the Premium isn’t wrapped around anything, it’s noticeably loud; loud enough that you’ll feel like you have to talk over it. When it’s pressed against the skin, it’s still not quiet, but it’s a loud thrumming versus a power tool noise. Even with Smart Silence, I’d say that you want to avoid intensity 10-12 if discretion is required; they’re powerful, but that power comes with some decent noise too.

(Also, applause! I can’t make it beyond intensity 5 or so without an orgasm, so making it to 12 is just an unheard of land for me!)

Unlike the Arcwave Ion which had a bit of wonky functionality with its Smart Silence, the Smart Silence on the Womanizer Premium works flawlessly. In months of usage, I’ve never had it pop on or off when it wasn’t supposed to. Zero complaints.

Womanizer Premium 1 Review: Autopilot 2.0

Now, let’s talk about the Womanizer Premium Autopilot 2.0 feature. Essentially, this feature is designed to bring playing with “patterns” to an air suction vibrator. Instead of pre-set patterns, though, the “Autopilot 2.0” feature randomly swaps intensities for a constantly-changing experience. Essentially, as Womanizer states, it’s designed to “let yourself go completely and be spoiled by your Womanizer”.

Think of it as the manufacturer’s solution to simulating someone else using the sucking vibrator on you.

Within the Autopilot 2.0 mode, you can select from three separate “Autopilot” options. The gentlest modes will only use sensations from intensity levels 1-4. The medium mode will use any intensities between 1 through 8. And the most intense mode will use any intensity level on the Womanizer Premium – 1 through 12. At any time, you can swap between these three separate modes to ensure the “random” picks it makes don’t hurt or feel uncomfortable.

In use, the Autopilot mode is…odd. It’s extremely pleasurable: don’t get me wrong. I actually prefer it – a lot – over the standard intensity levels on the Womanizer Premium. But that’s because the sensation feels entirely different than the standard pulsation levels. It doesn’t feel like the Womanizer Premium’s standard intensity levels placed into a pattern. It feels like an entirely different type of sensation that relies on heavy, deep, pulsations mixed in with the suction. It’s hard to describe online (and even in person. I’ve spent the last twenty minutes attempting to figure out how to explain it while holding the toy against myself.)

It’s gotten to the point where I’ve started reading others’ reviews and seeing if I can figure out how they explain it. (And finding it fascinating that other people actually hate the Autopilot 2.0 function too. Sex toys are amazingly personal that way.)

The Autopilot 2.0’s different, deep, pulsating sensations feel amazing to me. I absolutely love them. That being said, they don’t really feel like they’re mixing up the different intensities into a single, lay-back-and-relax pattern. No matter whether I select the Softest, Medium, or Most Intense level of Autopilot 2.0, it feels essentially the same. I rarely notice that Medium or Most Intense ever utilize levels 8-12 – so I’m mostly left feeling the same, softest levels over and over again.

And that’s part of the issue with Autopilot 2.0 – and part of why I don’t use it more often: there’s no way for me to add intensity when I want it. If I leave Autopilot 2.0 mode on myself for a bit, I’m going to orgasm. It’s not really a “if” but a “when”.

However, I rarely just leave an air suction toy on myself and just let it go to town. I, generally, have something going on concurrently – whether I’m trying to orgasm to a spot in porn or trying to get off at the exact same time I give a femdom handjob for simultaneous orgasm. When those moments happen, a simple increase in power on most sex toys makes me instantly orgasm – more times than not. When I’m in Autopilot 2.0 mode, there is no “instant increase in power”.

To get to where I can manually add more power, I need to hit the pattern button then hit the + button 5 to 6 times to get to a stronger suction level to get me a good boost of power.

So, it just isn’t a workable way for me – in the way that I usually use my sex toys.

So, while Womanizer Premium’s Auto Pilot 2.0 works, and I do enjoy it, it just doesn’t work with how I like to use my sex toys. That’s fair. I still love the slightly different sensation it gives compared to the standard intensity modes. It feels fantastic.

Womanizer Premium vs Womanizer Plus

Thinking about upgrading to the Womanizer Premium 1 from the Womanizer Plus? Maybe you like some of the new features – or maybe you just want to upgrade your Womanizer and get a new one. If so, let me walk you through some of the differences:

  • The Womanizer Plus has a serious length advantage over the Womanizer Premium; it feels about 3 inches longer. This was due to the “long” design crafted to work for thicker bodies.
  • The Womanizer Plus has a tip that’s drasticaly more protruding than the Premium. They’re not even comparable. It’s over an inch in difference. If you have plushier labia or a more “buried” clitoris, the Plus might be the winner for you.
  • The Womanizer Plus is mostly plastic – with silicone buttons and tip. The Womanizer Premium is entirely silicone with a few plastic bits.
  • The Womanizer Premium offers gentler and stronger suction levels than the Womanizer Plus. It just has a wider range of sensations.
  • Both the Womanizer Plus and Womanizer Premium stopped including the hardcore, protective storage case. Both include a storage pouch for storage.
  • The Womanizer Premium is waterproof. The Womanizer Plus claims to be waterproof, but I’m not sure I would believe it with the “cover” that goes over the charging port.
  • The Womanizer Premium is magnetically rechargable. The Womanizer Plus needs to plug in to charge.

Sidenote: I’m STILL mad Womanizer discontinued this toy. It is one of the few plus-size-specific toys out there – and it actually DOES work better for a thicker body. They had some serious issues with its marketing of the Womanizer Plus, but the toy itself was solid. I regularly (at least once a month) hope they bring it back and pray that mine doesn’t die.

Womanizer Premium vs Womanizer W100

Okay, so let’s get REAL old-school. I actually have one of the very first Womanizers ever made. There were a lot of choice words about it back then (mostly, that it wasn’t very pretty), but the majority of the words out there talked about how revolutionary – and seriously, seriously orgasmic – it was. Little did we know that the Womanizer W100 would release an entirely new world of sex toys into the industry.

(My Womanizer W100 review was written in 2017, and it’s STILL one of my favorite, most-used toys. How’s that for serious quality???)

If you’re contemplating an upgrade from the W100 to the Womanizer Premium, things to know:

  • They’re about the same physical size.
  • The Womanizer W100 is much, much easier to hold on to. The Womanizer Premium switched to a silky smooth, very-nice-to-touch silicone. It feels amazing, but gets much more slippery.
  • If you ever enjoy going back down in intensity, the Womanizer Premium offers that with simple + and – buttons. You can only increase in intensity with the W100 single button. At the same time, the W100’s button is much easier to find and press because of it’s large size.
  • The Womanizer Premium offers a much wider variety of pleasure intensities. It gets softer – and stronger – than the W100 does. If you’re extra-sensitive, your pleasure varies often, or if you like the ability to really experiment, the Womanizer Premium is the better of the two for you.
  • The Womanizer W100 is water-phobic. The Womanizer Premium is waterproof.
  • The Womanizer W100’s tip protrudes a lot, lot further than the Womanizer Premium’s tip. The Premium’s tip is much more recessed into the toy itself. With the bases of the tips lined up, it’s a difference of over 0.5″, so it’s not a small difference.
  • The Womanizer Premium charges via a magnetic cord. My old Womanizer W100 actually charges via the same cord that my old cell phone did; it’s a plug-in charge.
  • The Womanizer Premium (and all new Womanizers) phased out the really nice packaging the old Womanizers used to come in. It just comes in a drawstring bag. The new Womanizer Premium fits into the Womanizer W100‘s molded case like it was made for it though.

Womanizer Premium 1 Review: Compared to Other Womanizers

My thought? I’m not entirely sure the Womanizer Premium dethrones my W100 or Womanizer Plus. It’s weird. My W100 is old as shit, so you’d assume the nice, top-of-the-line model would easily dethrone it, but it really doesn’t. Most notably, I really miss the tip’s depth from the W100. The Womanizer Premium has a much-more-recessed tip, so it feels like I really have to push much more of the tip into myself to get to the right spot.

Since the Premium is also made of silky-smooth, super-soft silicone, that becomes a bit of a double-trouble. Since more vaginal fluid gets on the toy (because it has to be further in), it can get harder to hold when partnered with the slippery silicone.

That being said, I enjoy the Womanizer Premium’s wider range of air suction. I’m used to the levels on my W100 and Plus, so I generally flip the 2-5 intensity levels on the Womanizer Premium – but it’s kinda amazing that there are SEVEN more powerful levels than what I normally use.

Don’t get me wrong either: all Womanizer products are pretty much gold. We’re talking about comparing some of the “cream of the crop” for air suction pleasure. It doesn’t make the toy bad that it doesn’t overtake my W100 or Plus – but it’s like a 90/100 while the Plus might be 98/100. We’re still all up in the top-tier of sex toy judgments.

It’s mostly that a lot of the “upgrades” of the Womanizer Premium aren’t necessarily upgrades for me. I’m never worried about discretion and noise doesn’t bother me, so Smart Silence isn’t a high priority. I’ve been washing the Plus and W100 in the sink for years now with no problems, and I never play in water, so adding waterproof capabilities aren’t necessary. The extra intensity range is fantastic, but I never really needed my Womanizer to get stronger or softer.

What they did, however, was offer a design with a more recessed tip that’s a bit harder to grip. Those two things detract from the experience (for me) while also not adding anything new that felt like it added to my experience. If those other features are more important to you, the trade-off can be totally worth it. But unlike when that same parent company upgraded the We-Vibe Tango to the We-Vibe Tango X, I’m not seeing many benefits that make the toy a “must have” for me since I already have Womanizer sex toys I love.

It’s definitely a personal preference, but if you’re in the same boat, I want you to have the info you need to make a decision.

Womanizer Premium 1 Review: Final Thoughts

If you don’t have any other old-school Womanizers, the Womanizer Premium is probably one of the best air suction vibrators on the entire market. Compared to a Satisfyer Pro 2 or most of the off-brand options, it’s just better. It has more features, better power, higher durability, a longer battery life, and just feels much, much more polished and refined than most sucking toy options out there.

It also has, y’know, actual suction. In my time of testing different air suction vibes on the market, there’s a large segment that don’t actually “suck” at all. They just have the tip – and the vibrate the tip – in order to make you think there’s suction. The Womanizer Premium doesn’t fuck around with suction; it sucks (in the best way), and it does it better than any other toy on the market.

My biggest complaint about the Womanizer Premium, though? It’s just that recessed tip. If you have a less plushy vulva, you might not notice its recessed design, but compared to some of my other Womanizers, this slightly-protruding air suction tip doesn’t feel nearly as easy to wrap around the clitoris for me – similar to the issues I had with the Lora DiCarlo Baci. Unfortunately, this seems to be Womanizer’s style now, and if you’re thicker bodied or have a plushier labia, the Womanizer Pro40 or Womanizer Pro might be a better choice for you.

It’s also possible that Womanizer Premium’s Smart Silence feature might also be a game-changer for you if discretion is important – or if any extraneous noise really drags you out of the moment. As discretion is rarely important to me, it’s a non-starter for me, but as one of the few toys out there that stops making noise as soon as it stops touching your body, this can be a huge win if your masturbation and pleasure sessions aren’t always in an empty house. (Other WOW Tech – which is Womanizer’s parent company – products use Smart Silence features as well like the Arcwave Ion.)

And if you’ve never tried sucking vibrators? I’d recommend starting with the Womanizer Premium 1 or LELO Sona 2 if you’re not on a tight budget. It will give you one of the best starts for air suction pleasure – especially if you’re used to spending this type of cash on high-quality sex toys and vibrators anyway.

If the lifespan of my Womanizer W100 and Womanizer Plus is any indication, you can expect to have this vibrator as your favorite, most-loved vibrator for (literal) years to come. My W100 is about 6 years old and my Womanizer Plus is about 5 years old, so I’d expect the Womanizer Premium to have a very similar lifespan.

Summary

If you’ve never used an air suction toy before – or have been using cheaper air suction toys, everything about the Womanizer Premium 1 vibrator is going to feel like an upgrade. From its Autopilot 2.0 feature to its Smart Silence, it’s packed full of the features that people want from their sex toy – and then added even more.

I love how much power the Womanizer Premium 1 offers. It has a much wider range (both softer and more intense) of air suction than most air suction sex toys out there – which gives you more options for finding the perfect pleasure spot for you.

I’m just not sure the Womanizer Premium 1 is worth an upgrade if you own previous Womanizer models. I’m a bit disappointed with its more-recessed tip, and the handle feels a bit harder to hold than some of its predecessors.

That being said, it’s still an excellent air suction vibe – especially if you’re new to the Womanizer family.
