Vibratex Magic Wand Micro Review

Have you seen the brand new little baby that Vibratex has welcomed to the family? That’s right: you’re about to read a Vibratex Magic Wand Micro review!

The new Magic Wand Micro is a little cutie at a 4.5″ length and 3 ounces in weight. It features:

  • 3 vibration speeds
  • 4 vibration patterns
  • 1.3″ head diameter
  • silicone head with a plastic body
  • iconic design that matches the rest of the Magic Wand line-up
  • an optional, color matched wrist strap to anchor the toy
  • rechargeability with a 3 hour use time
  • FDA-registration as a Class 1 Medical Device

It is, honestly, absolutely adorable. While “mini wand massager” vibrators have been a trend for awhile now, the Magic Wand Micro takes that idea and turns it into a functional vibrator that can actually get you to orgasm.

And it does that while featuring the same iconic design as one of the most popular vibrators in the United States.

Cut to the Chase: How are the Vibrations?

So, the Magic Wand Micro is less than 5″ long. It does not have the power of the full sized Magic Wands. It physically can’t. The space for a motor is drastically smaller. It just physically doesn’t have the size to support the gigantic motor that makes those famous, rumbly Magic Wand vibrations.

So, the vibrations are much much weaker than the full-sized Magic Wands. If the full-sized, plug-in options (Original, Plus) are 100% intensity, the Micro is probably 20% or 25%.

It isn’t bad. I can orgasm from the Micro on the middle vibration intensity without struggling. It honestly puts some handheld vibrations to shame. If I’m on a sensitive day, that same middle vibration intensity can get me to orgasm even if I’m not really turned on or thinking sexy thoughts just through sheer intensity of it.

But it isn’t the Magic Wand power that you might be expecting with some of the Vibratex marketing lingo that says “unbelievably powerful”.

Like, it’s not bad, but it hasn’t reached “unbelievable”. Vibratex didn’t magically invent ways to expand physical constraints to import a gigantic vibrating motor from space.

It is, still, a sex toy that’s less than 5″ in length. Its value is in its portability (and let’s be real: it’s cuteness). It fits into tiny spaces that you never thought a wand massager could fit in.

The lowest vibration level still carries some of that rumbly intensity that Magic Wand vibrations are known for, but it does get buzzier at the higher levels. I will say that it does a much better job of staying rumbly and deeper than virtually all bullet vibrators out there.

For its size, the Magic Wand Micro has pretty rumbly vibrations at a decent power. But it still isn’t a revolutionary, innovative, “never before seen!” level of intense.

Magic Wand Mini vs Vibratex Magic Wand Micro Review

Okay, let’s say that you know you’re willing to trade less power for a shorter, lighter, easier-to-use toy. If that’s the case, how is the Magic Wand Micro compared to the Mini?

Well, as expected, the Mini is more powerful than the Micro. It’s simply larger. It has more space for stronger motors.

All of the Magic Wand vibrators next to one another. From top to bottom: Magic Wand Original, Magic Wand Plus, Magic Wand Rechargeable, Magic Wand Mini, Magic Wand Micro. With the Micro in the front, it showcases just how tiny the wand is at barely longer than one of the heads of the full-sized massagers.

If we’re using the same scale as before with 100% being the “most power a Magic Wand can put out”, here’s where I’d rate the power levels:

Magic Wand Original: 100%
Magic Wand Plus: 100%
Magic Wand Rechargeable: 85/90%
Magic Wand Mini: 50%
Magic Wand Micro: 20%

If you want the most power in a more portable form, get the Mini. It has noticeably deeper and more powerful vibrations than the Micro, but it still weighs and handles a whole lot better than the full-sized Magic Wand options.

If you’re using this on a partner – sometimes sight unseen on their bits, get the Mini (if choosing between the Mini and the Micro). The Mini has a larger head. This can make it easier to “aim” onto the desired body parts – especially if you’re in a position like spooning where you can’t actually “see” where you’re aiming the toy. Of course, if this is a priority, any of the full-sized options are going to be better because they have the largest heads available.

What’s the Point of the Magic Wand Micro?

It kinda sounds like I’d recommend other Magic Wands for most things – and that’s honestly the case. The Micro is a good toy. I’m not arguing that. But if your end goal is pleasure, for the exact same amount of money, you’re probably better off picking up one of the full-size Magic Wand versions. They simply have stronger, deeper vibrations and a wider head to better hit those spots.

There are a few cases where I’d recommend the Micro though:

  • If Magic Wands are too strong. If you find the power of most Magic Wands to be painful, the gentler sensations of the Micro is probably going to be welcome.
  • You want to use the toy with others in the house. The Micro is THE quietest Magic Wand. With the door closed, it can’t be heard outside of your bedroom. You don’t need music or television on.
  • You have very limited space. If you travel often and want a vibrator you never feel bad tossing into your bag in case you don’t use it (it fits into a pair of socks without taking up extra space), that’s the Magic Wand Micro. At 3 ounces, it weighs less than some make-up palettes, but it’ll be there if you need it. (If this was a selling point for Vibratex when crafting the Micro, I wish they would have equipped the Micro with Travel Lock.)
  • Discretion is a high, high priority. Because it’s the smallest with the lightest motor, the Magic Wand Micro is the quietest – and its size makes it the easiest to hide. If those are primary buying factors for you, the Micro might be your fit – though I’d recommend looking at the We-Vibe Tango X, too, if that’s your reason for buying.
  • You’re worried about dropping your toys. Very few sex toys come with an easy-handle wrist strap. The Micro does. It wraps snugly around the wrist, and it makes it pretty hard to drop the Micro. If you need this (super rough sex, gripping strength concerns), it’s pretty much the only “wand massager” with this design.
  • You’re a collector and think it’s cute. Honestly, the Magic Wand Micro is freakin’ adorable. If you want to own it because it’s a tiny, cute size of your favorite large-sized wand, have at it. It’s really not a bad toy.

I’m currently contemplating how to turn it into a necklace for some upcoming BDSM play parties. If I was going to take a wand massager specifically for play, I’d probably take the Fun Factory VIM.

BUT I know that the Magic Wand Micro as a necklace is going to be a huge hit, and I’m turned on by the idea of simply unclasping my necklace and having a fully-functional wand massager to tease a partner with on the fly.

For that, no other Magic Wand would have worked. And those fringe, unique cases are where I think the Magic Wand Micro excels.

While built for iconic cuteness and portability, the vibrations aren’t bad, and it can still pull its own weight as a sex toy. It just tends to be overshadowed by the big brothers that came before it – especially at the very same price point.

Vibratex Magic Wand Micro Review: Other Things to Note

I wrote this sex toy review a bit more informally than usual, so here are some other important points you might want to know about the Micro:

  • It comes with an optional hanging strap. The hanging strap requires threading the small cord through an anchor point (separate from the charging port) at the base. It can be removed in seconds.

  • It’s plug-in rechargeable. The port is constantly open at the base of the Micro. This means you’ll want to be careful near lots of fluids or messes. At 4.5″ in length, it doesn’t take much for a fluid to go from the tip to the base if you aren’t careful – especially if it’s on your hands.
  • The button control structure is different on the Micro compared to the rest of the line. One button is purely on/off. The other button cycles through all of the steady vibrations and patterned vibrations. This is jarring if you’re using it back-to-back to a different Magic Wand version (which is probably a very “me” problem.)
  • It has a 3 hour battery life. I charged it once when it arrived, and I have yet to kill the battery after 7 play sessions and lots of comparison runs for this Vibratex Magic Wand Micro review.
  • The head of the Micro is noticeably smaller than any of the other Magic Wands. As such, if you usually use a wand massager as a “so large it HAS to hit the right spot!” sex toy method, the Micro’s head might be too small to accomplish that.
All of the Magic Wand vibrators next to one another. From left to right: Magic Wand Original, Magic Wand Plus, Magic Wand Rechargeable, Magic Wand Mini, Magic Wand Micro. This head-forward view showcases the differently sized heads of the wands.
  • It really does feel lightweight AF. It still has the “head feels like the heaviest end” off-balance weight of every Magic Wand, but it’s lighter than picking up my half-drank water bottle to take a sip. It feels about on-par with my cell phone (in its case) weight.
  • Vibrations are surprisingly quiet. They’re a little bit louder than the We-Vibe Tango X, but they’re drastically, drastically quieter than even the Mini. While I wouldn’t use it in a quiet public bathroom, you could get away with using it in a public bathroom where they have the music piped into the bathroom. This is finally a Magic Wand you could use in your bedroom while others are in the house.
