UPDATE MAY 2022: The Uprize dildo is no longer in production – which is sad because I loved the idea of this electronic dildo! This sex toy review remains as a reference for those who are interested in this dildo. While you’re here, why not check out my BDSM advice, femdom advice, and BDSM scene outlines?
The first of its kind, the Uprize Remote Control Erecting Realistic Dildo Vibrator is an electric dildo that can go from soft to hard using the internal mechanisms. Complete with a remote control to control this dildo, well, remotely, the Uprize Remote Control Erecting Realistic Dildo Vibrator is available in a 6″ and 8″ variety. (The item pictured here is the 6-inch version). In addition to being able to get an erection, the dildo is also equipped with vibrations, made from body-safe silicone, and is waterproof. This dildo is fully rechargeable, and it also features a suction cup at the base.
The Uprize Remote Control Erecting Realistic Dildo Vibrator 6 Inch comes in a pretty standard, but nice, box. The box is nice and sturdy, and it’s well-designed on the outside. You’ll see full details about the toy and the features it provides as well as care instructions. Inside the box, everything is packaged nicely together. This original packaging can work just fine if you’d like to store it in the box long-term.
I’m kinda enamored with this thing. As far as I’m aware, this type of technology doesn’t really exist yet. Some companies have tried something similar (such as Tantus‘s “Pack and Play” dildos that are designed to be soft enough for ‘packing’ and hard enough for ‘penetrating’), but as far as I’m aware, nothing has actually gone from “soft” to “hard” in the world of sex toys before.
Which is a damn shame! Why? Because it’s just hot! I love the idea of being able to “get hard” for my partner when they’re touching me. I love the idea of being able to “get hard” – and find a tent in my dress when I’m wearing it under my clothing. I love the idea of a more realistic pegging and strap-on experience. I love the idea of wearing it out and about, being able to be “soft” most of the day, but having a remote control hidden in my pocket or purse that’ll allow me to get “turned on” at the push of a button. This offers something that no other strap-on dildo can for me – the visual and mental feeling of having a clear representation of my arousal.
Aside from the heat level, there’s also the use for transgender individuals. For those who want a cock, something like the Uprize Remote Control Erecting Realistic Dildo offers a more life-like experience – the ability to go from “soft” to “hard”. While the “soft” isn’t entirely floppy, the dildo definitely has a very visual appeal to it.
So, how does the Uprize Remote Control Erecting Realistic Dildo work? Using either the buttons on the side of the shaft or on the remote, you can choose to “control” the dildo. There are separate buttons for vibration and erection. Press the “erection” button on either control surface, and the dildo goes from limp to “hard” within a few seconds. Press the button again, and it gets soft again. Press the “vibration” button, and no matter the limp/erection status, the dildo will start to vibrate. The vibration intensity can be intensified or lessened depending on your preference. The base of the Uprize Erection Dildo has a suction cup crafted into it. The suction cup works okay on floor surfaces, but with the heft of the dildo, it tends to slide off walls pretty easily. And that’s about the basics you need to know about the Uprize Remote Control Erection Dildo. It’s pretty simple and straight-forward. It’s a dildo that can get hard – and it does it pretty easily.
This overview video I did for YouTube shows off the various features of the Uprize Remote Control Erecting Realistic Dildo pretty well:
It’s also worth noting that the dildo gives a noticeable “bzzz” when the self-erection dildo function is going on. Whether you use the remote or the base, you’ll hear this mechanical whining while the dildo is getting hard or soft. While not a deal-breaker, depending on your sensitivity to sounds, this might knock you out of your “this is my dick” headspace. I find the noise to be soft enough that it’s definitely an “okay, well, everybody knows it’s happening”, but it’s so short and soft that I’ll get over the noise quickly.
Now, the idea of “soft” to “hard” is a bit misleading. The dildo is actually already “hard” when it’s soft. The dildo isn’t soft or floppy or squeezable while “soft”. It’s just hardened version of the dildo – but folded up into a “soft” looking form. So while it’s not 100% believable, it definitely does have a bit of the “appearance” of being soft. It just doesn’t quite feel that way.
That being said, you’ll have to keep this in mind when wearing this dildo under clothing if you plan on “packing” with it. The soft form isn’t particularly “soft” – so if you aren’t careful about clothing choices, you will have a noticeable bulge that you may not like. With that in mind, this dildo also has a noticeably thick base to contend with. The base’s thickness isn’t the most comfortable between the thighs when walking. It doesn’t mold against the skin nicely, and with my thick thighs, it actually can get a bit sore. I’ve found that wearing the Uprize Remote Control Erecting Realistic Dildo Vibrator for short periods of time is the better plan. Usually if it’s an evening where I don’t plan to walk a lot and I know sex will be at the end of the tunnel, this erection dildo will work fine. If I know I’m going to walk quite a bit and don’t have plans for sex, I’ll choose a more-comfortable dildo for packing.
When it comes to strap-on use, the Uprize Remote Control Erecting Realistic Dildo vibrator can definitely be shoved into a strap-on harness – with the clear caution that the base is not something to mess around with. The base is over an inch in thickness, and it doesn’t quite “lay flat” easily in a strap-on harness. The dick is a lot more wiggly in a harness if I only use the suction-cup base in the harness; I’ve found the best success with putting the femdom harness over the balls/base so that only the shaft is showing. Again, though, you have to remember that you then have an extra inch protruding off your body. It makes it hard for stimulation of the strap-on wearer via rubbing of the dildo during strap-on sex. It also, as mentioned above, can be pretty irritating on the thighs if you’re walking/traveling a lot. I haven’t had much pubic bruising with it, though. I think the suction base helps soften some of the roughness.
So, as an added bonus, the Uprize Remote Control Erection Dildo also comes equipped with vibrations. These vibrations are nothing Earth-shattering, but they’re still pretty good. They’re most-easily felt in the shaft of the toy, but a little bit of it can be felt through the base of the dildo when it’s strapped onto the body.
It’s also worth mentioning that the user manual mentions not to “soften” the dildo while penetrating something – or you may destroy the toy. While I haven’t given that a try yet (and likely won’t), this gives me some qualms about hardening and softening it in extremely restrictive clothing. If you want to play with the “Honey, I’m hard for you” fun of it, try to stick to softer, stretchier clothing – or maybe clothing that has a lot of give to it. If I’m reading the warning correctly, thicker materials, like denim jeans, may provide too much resistance and harm the mechanics of your dick – and nobody wants that.
Really, my largest complaint about the dildo is the length of it. Six inches feels noticeably too small for me. However, my complaint is easily answered by the fact that the company, Uprize, offers 8-inch sizes – as well as dildos in other colors (with the same design). If their first release sells well, I’d also love to see them focus on providing thicker dildos as well. These dildos are slim – even for biological penises. I look forward to the day where I can see awesome, thick dildos getting hard and ready anytime I push a button. That sounds like a great future.
Surprisingly, despite all of the features and awesome shit this dildo does, it’s still waterproof. This makes it surprisingly simple for cleaning. You’ll want it to be “erect” to smooth out the crevices in the material, but once it is, just use warm water and anti-bacterial soap to clean it up. Since this dildo is made from silicone material, try to avoid using silicone-based lubricant on it. The silicone may harm the material of the toy if you do. Water-based lubricants will be safe for use on the material, though.
Overall, the Uprize Remote Control Erecting Realistic Dildo Vibrator is an amazing toy. Nothing else begins to equal it on the market, and it’s the first of its “kind”. Sure, it has some downsides you’ll need to plan around (such as the thick base), but at the same time, there’s nothing else out there that lets you get “hard on demand” – and it does a pretty good job of it! You’ll need to baby your dildo a bit, and it comes with some use considerations, but the vibrations are a nice touch, and the remote-controlled erections and vibrations work without a flaw. It isn’t the most-often used strap-on in my sex toy collection, but when I want it, it’s the only one that can provide what I want. Thanks to SheVibe for providing this erection dildo for my Uprize Remote Control Erecting Realistic Dildo review.
