Welcome to my Satisfyer Curvy 1 review! One of the handful of air suction vibrators on the market equipped with app connectivity, the Satisfyer Curvy 1 partners air suction sensations with vibrations and app-connectivity for a clitoral vibrator that has a whole lot of ways to play.
This air suction vibrator has 11 air suction intensities and 11 vibration intensities. It includes multiple patterned modes, and if you want to expand the full range of pattern possibilities, the free, included app allows you to pretty much make anything you want.
The Curvy 1 is 5.3″ in total length with a physical tip presence of 1.35″. The hollow hole tip diameter is about 17mm in diameter. At the widest point of the handle, the toy has a diameter of 1.8″. The majority of the toy is made from a thick, rigid, matte plastic (it does feel really nice) with silicone on the tip and for the button’s control panel.
Unlike some designs, both the air suction sensations and the vibrations are focused around the hollow tip of the toy. Despite the insertable-looking handle, the vibrations are focused at the hollow tip as well. You could insert the handle, but with the charging port, plastic plate, and buttons located on it, it definitely doesn’t look like it was designed for it.
The Satisfyer Curvy 1 is magnetically rechargeable with the included USB cord. It requires 3 hours of charge time to hit a full charge – which will give you 60 minutes of playtime.
Named the “Satisfyer Curvy 1”, this vibrator is part of a three-toy series: the Curvy 1, Curvy 2, and Curvy 3. The biggest difference between the three models is the size of the tip opening itself. (Mind you, we’re talking about the hollow opening – not the physical presence of the tip’s width.) The Curvy 1 has the largest tip opening while the Curvy 3 has the smallest tip opening.
This is only a Satisfyer Curvy 1 review. I have not tried the Curvy 2 or 3.
Satisfyer Curvy 1 Review: The Vibrations
The Curvy 1 is not the vibrator to get if you want powerful vibrations. As the focus of this toy is on the air suction and app connectivity, I’d guess they went light on the vibration motor.
That isn’t necessarily a bad thing; you pick your battles when trying to keep a toy budget-friendly, and in this battle, the vibrations got the last pick.
The vibrations exist, though. They’re just on the buzzier, surface-level side of things. They’re very focused on the hollow, air suction tip of the sex toy; I’d guess their motor is in the thickest part of the handle right underneath the hollow tip.
You get three steady vibration intensities, and the rest are patterns.
Despite being focused in the tip, you do get quite a bit of the vibrations throughout the handle. I’ve come away from multiple masturbation sessions with this one with hand numbness and sluggishness that feels funky. It gets worse if you hold the vibrator near the hollow tip; holding it further down the toy helps reduce the vibration spread. If you’re sensitive to vibrations throughout your hands, though, definitely be aware.
Satisfyer Curvy 1 Review: The Air Suction
If you stick to the first four intensity levels of air suction, the toy provides a relatively “genuine” air suction experience. Unfortunately, there has been a large trend of budget manufacturers releasing “air suction” toys that don’t really suck.
That isn’t the case with the Curvy 1. The first couple of intensity levels feel very “air suction”, and it’s a distinctly different feel from the vibrations that same tip is equipped with.
Unfortunately, as the intensity goes up, the air suction functionality seems to bleed off. Around intensity 5/6, the “suction” is so high-pitched that it seems to turn more into a different type of vibration than an air suction sensation. It’s honestly so weird. I don’t know how to explain it besides that. There’s no deep, pulsing, sucking sensation like I’ve come to love with air suction toys; it’s like the motor is trying to keep up at such a high frequency that it ends up become more surface-level and feeling closer to a vibrator.
These lower air suction levels are powerful enough to give you a good idea of what air suction feels like, but I wouldn’t say that they’re strong enough for the easy, effortless orgasms I’ve come to associate with air suction toys. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing; my vulva is spoiled with my tried-and-true favorites that cost 2 to 4 times more than the Satisfyer Curvy 1.
Instead, the Curvy 1 offers a peek into the world of air suction sensations while simultaneously offering a back-up stimulation (vibration!) and a different way to play (app functionality). Just be aware that there’s more variability and intensity in air suction out there in the world if you end up falling in love with the Curvy 1’s sensations.
I don’t think the bulky, tip-heavy design of the Curvy 1 is doing it any favors, though. I’m just really not fond of tip-thick air suction designs like this. There’s only so much room between my vulva and around my clitoris. The tip of the Satisfyer Curvy 1+ requires about 1.35″ of circular space. That’s huge! For comparison, the tip of one of my favorite air suction vibes (the Womanizer W100) only requires about 0.7″ of circular space at the tip.
I just find that it’s really hard to get the tip of the Curvy 1 vibrator pressed flat against my clitoris to get a good “seal” around it. It’s just wide – and there’s a lot of fleshy bits that can get in the way when I need to find 1.35″ of free space around my clitoris. In order for the air suction sensations to feel their best, you really need to get a snug “seal” around the clitoris so it can “suck” on it.
It’s very possible this won’t be a problem for you, but it’s definitely worth mentioning if you’ve previously found that other thick-tipped toys (like the Rose Vibrator) haven’t been an ideal fit.
Satisfyer Curvy 1 Review: The Noise
Oddly enough, the Satisfyer Curvy 1 isn’t particularly quiet. It’s probably one of the louder air suction toys I own – especially when the toy isn’t pressed very firmly up against a body. As previously noted, I find it really hard to get it pressed flat during use, so it’s a loud one.
I’d compare it to the hum of some kitchen appliances. Nowhere near blender level, but definitely on-par with a milk frother. It’s not louder than some of the loudest sex toys I’ve reviewed like the Lovense Max.
The gentler air suction levels are quieter. You could get away with using them if there was a closed door and background noise.
The higher air suction levels, though? Unless you’re able to ensure you keep a good seal, you definitely want multiple rooms, a closed door, and background music in order to keep someone from investigating the noise.
Sensations Partnered Together
I’m really not fond of using vibrations alongside air suction – especially not on the Curvy 1. The vibrations “overpower” the air suction sensations, and I find myself feeling the vibrations – and no air suction.
This is likely exacerbated on the Curvy 1+ because of the weaker air suction sensations. It’s just simply easier to overpower them in the first place.
Since the Curvy 1+ is supposed to be an air suction toy with bonus equipped vibrations, if I’m going to use the air suction sensations, I try to leave the vibrations off as best as possible. When using it that way, though, it’s impossible for me to orgasm; the air suction is simply not strong enough. Even with the vibrations on high, it has been a tough, tough uphill climb. This is leagues away from my usual “try not to cum on the lowest settings” experience of my usual air suction toys like the Lora DiCarlo Baci or Womanizer Plus.
The vibrations and the air suction functionalities are independently controlled, and they can be used without one another – or used together. Pick your poison.
Let’s Talk about the App
What the Satisfyer Curvy 1 lacks in power, it makes up in reliable app connection. The free, wireless cell phone app really is the shining star of the Curvy 1; it easily outshines the power the toy is able to provide.
Depending on what you’re going for, that’s not a dealbreaker. Especially as the Curvy 1 is $50-$150 cheaper than most app-connected toys, the Satisfyer Curvy 1 + offers an introduction to the world of online control without breaking the bank.
And honestly, that introduction is a good one! The reliability on the Satisfyer app is fantastic. I’ve found it better than the reliability with We-Vibe toys and on-par with Lovense toys. Unless your cell phone gets too far away from the toy, it tends to keep its connection relatively well. It almost-always responds to commands on the first try, and pairing the vibrator with the app has been pretty pain-free.
If you aren’t into making accounts, you don’t necessarily have to to use some of the features of the Satisfyer Connect app. You can hop right into Program Play, Live Control, Ambient Sound, and Music Vibes. In order, these essentially let you: create your own patterns and adjust pre-made patterns, control the vibrations – live – with a visual interface that removes the need to touch the toy, make the vibrations synchronize to the noise your cell phone mic picks up, and make the vibrations sync to music/audio files you have stored on your cell phone.
I especially love that the “Live Control” feature allows you to control multiple Satisfyer toys from the same screen. If you end up getting a Double Joy or another Satisfyer app-controlled toy, you can easily use them all at the same time, adjusting all of their intensities at the touch of a button with the Live Control screen. As far as I’m aware, no other company makes a one-stop-shop screen like this for multi-toy use. As the Satisfyer toys’ price point makes it easier to collect multiple toys, this is a definite win.
If you want to play with Remote Control with other people, you’ll need to make an account – as does the person you’re playing with. The Remote Control functionality does allow the Satisfyer Curvy 1+ to be controlled by anyone across the world with an internet connection (and the app and an account), though. The app is free for anyone to download.
Satisfyer Curvy 1 Review: 15 Year Guarantee
Lately, Satisfyer has started offering a 15-year guarantee on their items. It’s absolutely unheard of in the sex toy sphere, and I have a few friends who have been able to exchange their items with Satisfyer after they died. The “standard” warranty usually runs in the 1-2 year range, so 15 is excessive – but helpful if you’re worried about your sex toy fading into black down the line.
With that all in mind, take special care to keep your proof of purchase if you pick up a Satisfyer toy. This might mean taking a picture of your physical receipt and saving it – or saving the online email receipt.
Final Thoughts: Satisfyer Curvy 1 Review
Satisfyer Curvy 1 Review
Summary
I’m not as fond of the Satisfyer Curvy 1 as I am their standard Satisfyer Pro 2 model. While neither of the Satisfyer toys can provide the same suction power as the name-brand option (like the Womanizer), the Curvy 1 provides even less “suction” intensity compared to the Pro 2 version.
However, if you’re still stepping your toes into the world of air suction and still want to be able to fall back on vibrations, the Curvy 1 offers a whole host of vibration intensities and patterns to play with alongside your air suction sensations. That’s definitely not standard in air suction toys, and it gives you a “fall back” option for times when air suction isn’t working for you.
As long as you aren’t after extreme power, you can still have a lot of fun with the Satisfyer Curvy 1’s cell phone app. There are very few air suction toys on the market with app control, and while the Curvy 1 lacks power, its app connectivity is on-point. It’s reliable with an easy-to-use interface that makes it fun. All things considered, I’d say the app connectivity is the main selling point of the Curvy 1 – not necessarily the sensations themselves.
If you want the most power possible, I’d recommend skipping the Curvy 1 and getting their Pro 2 or other non-app air suction toys. At exactly the same price, something had to give in the Curvy 1 in order to add all of the electronics necessary for app control, and I’d guess that it was more powerful motors.
However, if you’re really into the idea of exploring app control and long-distance fun, as long as you aren’t expecting power, the Curvy 1 can open that door into online play without the $100+ price tag – and that’s where it really shines.
