Satisfyer Double Joy Review

Satisfyer Double Joy Review

Welcome to the Satisfyer Double Joy – one of the latest Satisfyer products that was released along with the new Satisfyer sex toy control app. This product was designed as a couple’s vibrator for wearing during intercourse. The Satisfyer Double Joy is one of the lowest-priced intercourse vibrators on the market, so let’s explore how well the Double Joy vibrator works in this Satisfyer Double Joy review.

Satisfyer Double Joy Review: Fit

The Satisfyer Double Joy has this small “clit” bulb on the clit side of the toy. When I say “small”, I mean small. It’s barely perceptible, and there’s no way this little nub would ever be able to nestle between the labia in order to hit the clit. I’m hoping this was just a visual guidepoint to help you figure out which end to insert and which end not to insert.

The Satisfyer Double Joy, unlike some previous Satisfyer couple’s vibrators, is much more flexible with its shape. The clitoral side, with its control panel, is pretty much rigid-straight; you can’t bend it. But everything on the insertable end is extremely flexible, and will bend about 45 degrees if that’s what you want (and what’s comfortable).

That being said, that flexibility is just that – flexilbility. The Double Joy vibrator doesn’t “stay in place” once bent, and it will bend back into its C-shaped design if you remove the pressure. This means that the Double Joy vibrator doesn’t necessarily provide firm, g-spot pressure. It can rest against the g-spot – and vibrate – but part of the super-affordable price means that it doesn’t have the articulating, stay-in-place structure that has started to appear in many couple’s vibrators for a “custom fit”.

That being said, the Satisfyer Double Joy works perfectly well as a couple’s vibrator. The insertable end, due to its softness and flexibility, never gets “poke-y” to either partner. (I recommend a lot of lube to keep things slippery between the penis and vibe during sex!), and if you have a shallow g-spot and a clitoris near your vaginal entrance, you’re going to find that the Satisfyer Double Joy can hit both. It may not provide earth-shattering vibrations when it gets there (mentioned in the next section), but it can touch both.

Satisfyer Double Joy Review: Vibrations

The vibrations of the Satisfyer Double Joy are definitely on the lighter and buzzier side. Don’t expect this toy to get anywhere near the power of most vibrators, but as it’s designed for use during intercourse, you can likely assume that you have some additional pleasure going on at the same time you’re using the Double Joy vibrator.

There is a motor for the vibrations inside the tip of the g-spot end as well as the tip of the clitoral end. This doesn’t really change the intensity of the vibrations. They’re very-much on the lighter and buzzier side of things, and after about 20 minutes of use, they’ve mostly numbed my clit so that I definitely need a break if I want to be able to orgasm at some point.

To put it frankly, they just aren’t the vibrations for me as someone who likes firm, rigid pressure from her vibrators and tends to grind them against her body.

If you’re someone who likes that feather-light touch and isn’t always pushing yourself violently into your sex toys, though, this might be the type of vibration you want. I don’t think the vibrations are for “no one” – just not for me.

That being said, the vibrations are extremely quiet. It’s difficult to hear with it sitting on my own lap, and with the door shut and soft music, it would entirely mask the noise of the Satisfyer Double Joy entirely. So if noise is a deciding factor, feel confident that the Satisfyer Double Joy is on the quieter end of toys. It’s not entirely inaudible, but it’s difficult to hear at all with a door closed.

The penis-owning individual, during penetration, can definitely feel the vibrations during intercourse as well. The second motor within the g-spot end definitely makes sure of that.

Satisfyer Double Joy Review: Controls

The Satisfyer Double Joy has two buttons on the clitoral end of the vibrator. Technically, it appears to be one giant button (made of plastic) with two “ends” like a rocker-style button. Either way, you have a + on one side and a – on the opposing side. These two buttons make up the entirety of the way to interact with the vibrator without the cell phone app.

That being said, you can do most of the basic functions with the two buttons. Hold down the + to turn it on and cycle through the 10 functions. (3 steady vibration speeds, 7 patterned options). Hold down the + (not the – !) to turn it back off.

To connect to the app, hold down the + for four seconds (instead of two to turn it on), and you can wirelessly connect it to the cell phone app.

The buttons press down pretty easily as long as they have something firm to “press into”. When inserted in the vagina and resting on the clit, this means they’ll generally “press into” the clitoris pretty firmly while attempting to press the button. It was never painful, but it’s worth noting if you’re someone who likes a feather-light touch. If you’re someone who is trying to change the vibration speeds and wants the toy to stay “just where it is but stronger!”, you’ll also want to take advantage of the cell phone app since changing the speeds will noticably move the vibe during use.

Satisfyer Double Joy Review: Wireless App Vibrator

This new line of Satisfyer toy’s claim to fame is their ability to connect to the Satisfyer Connect cell phone app.

The biggest hurdle I had to deal with was actually FINDING the app. The Google Play store search wouldn’t pull it up, the instruction manual didn’t provide any information about the app or a QR code where to get it, and I couldn’t find any link to the Satisfyer app within the Satisfyer website. That’s a whole lot of hurdles to connect to an app that’s supposed to be a selling point. (If you have the same issue, the web search “Satisfyer Connect Google Play / Apple” seems to bring up the necessary link.)

Once I found the app, things went much more smoothly. The Satisfyer Double Joy easily connects with the app – and the app has instructions about how to connect it with the toy if you don’t have the instruction manual handy. I had it up and connected within seconds on my first try; it was simple.

One thing that’s interesting of note: at least for the Satisfyer Double Joy, when I paired it with the app, the app noted that the vibrator uses a unique encryption key for a stronger connection to the vibe – so if I ever want to use it on another device in the future, I need to unpair it with this phone first. If you’re someone who switches devices often, this might be a pain for you – especially since I haven’t heard of this with any of my other long-distance sex toys.

The Satisfyer sex toy app offers four ways to use the Satisfyer Double Joy ASAP with the mobile app: Program Play, Live Control, Ambient sound, and Music Vibes. Those modes require no sign-in or any extra data from you. If you’d like to use the final mode, Remote Play, you need to make an account (as will your long-distance sex partner).

Program Play essentially allows you to visually play with the patterns installed in the Double Joy – and make your own patterns too. You can adjust the intensity of factory-installed patterns – or make your own patterns at the push of a button.

One feature of Program Play I especially love is that you can “draw a pattern”. Essentially, you make squiggly lines on the screen, and the Program Play mode will translate them into vibration patterns for you. It’s a very-unique design compared to how most app controlled vibrators go about pattern creation – and it’s fun to play with.

Live Mode brings a screen up, and you can touch-and-drag a cursor to adjust the steady vibrations in all individual motors at a glance. The Satisfyer sex toy app also allows for you to control up to four vibrators AT ONCE in Live Mode. This is amazing. Once there are more vibrators that are compatible with the Satisfyer sex toy app, this means you’ll be able to share vibrators with your partner – and both of you use the exact same settings at the same time. That’s a feature that pretty much no other sex toy app offers – which is really neat.

Ambient Sound vibrates to the noise that’s around the vibrator. This can be someone talking, ambient music, your partner’s moans, some porn – whatever. If the phone can pick up on the noise, the vibrator will vibrate to the intensity of the noise.

Music Vibes will allow the Satisfyer Double Joy to vibrate to any music you choose. Satisfyer DOES allow for Spotify to be connected, but I’m unsure if Spotify allows you to connect back for free. Otherwise, the vibrator control app can read off any music you have loaded onto your device.

Remote Play, as you can imagine, allows another person to control the vibrator for you – just like you’d expect. You do need to sign-in to use this feature – as does your partner.

The biggest problem with the Satisfyer app is just how it connects to the toy. I’m not sure what it uses to do so, but whenever you temporarily “alt-tab” out of the app on your phone, all vibrations cease from the vibrator. This means if you open the photo app for sexting – or call a lover – or answer a text – any of it. The vibrations seamlessly pop back on as soon as you alt-tab in, but if you’re someone who wanted to read ebooks or erotica or browse porn or any of it, the vibrator will instantly turn off.

I’m sure you can see how that’s a bad problem.

That being said, if/when that gets ironed out (if it does?), I think the Satisfyer app is surprisingly awesome. I wasn’t expecting much when they put it out, but it actually goes noticeably above-and-beyond most of the long-distance control sex toy app programs with quite a few unexpected features.

Satisfyer Double Joy Review: Charging and Battery Life

The Satisfyer Double Joy uses magnetic charging to charge up its rechargeable battery. This magnetic charging port can be seen by the two metal-looking bulbs on the side of the vibrator.

When plugged in to charge, the magnetic connection is strong enough that you can gently pick up the Double Plus vibrator – and wiggle it around – but holding the cord only. So it’s a pretty strong magnetic charge. In addition, the charging cable will ONLY go onto the vibrator in one direction – so you’ll never accidentally place the charging cable on backwards.

According to the instruction manual, the Satisfyer Double Joy has a 60 minute use time off of a single charge. Getting that charge fully charged takes about 2 hours.

All-in-all, it’s a good use time, super-easy to charge (much easier than some other rechargeable toys with finicky connectors), and it makes it easy to keep the Double Joy charged up and ready to go.

Satisfyer Double Joy Review: Care and Storage

If you’re into it, the Satisfyer Double Joy can be stored in the original packaging. The packaging will never actually “seal” itself again – and it has a window that shows the toy very clearly – but the box itself is sturdy enough for storing the Double Joy for long periods of time. The Double Joy does not come with a storage pouch or anything else – just the vibrator, three booklets/manuals, and the charging cable.

As a note, the Satisfyer Double Joy includes three “instruction manuals” – one purely filled with warranty info, another with all of the standard safety info most people never bother to read (“Do not throw product into fire”, like, yeah, okay. duh.), but the actual instruction manual for the Double Joy vibrator is the thinnest book of them all – relying almost entirely on pictures. It was a bit surprising since the other booklets are noticeably longer and noticeably-more-text-filled.

Caring for the Satisfyer Double Joy is a pretty simple request too. Just use warm water and mild soap to clean it. Since the vibe is waterproof with virtually no crevices, it cleans up really easily. Allow the toy to fully dry before placing it back into storage.

Oh! And when using lubricant with it (which I highly recommend), I recommend a water-based lube to avoid harming the silicone surface of the toy.

Satisfyer Double Joy Review: 15 Year Warranty!?!

Satisfyer has recently started offering a 15 year warranty on their products. Which, y’know, is a complete outlier in the sex toy industry where 1-year-warranty is standard – and 2 year warranties are exceptional. 15? Well, 15 years is pretty much unheard of.

According to the Satisfyer website, they will exchange your Satisfyer product if it fails within 15 years – as long as you have proof of purchase. So make sure you keep those emails or paper receipts in case this is something you’re concerned about. You will need to pay shipping costs.

Satisfyer Double Joy Review: Final Thoughts

The Satisfyer Double Joy isn’t a bad toy by any means, but it isn’t amazing either. If money is a serious concern, the Double Joy can be a good purchase. It’s an app-controllable couple’s toy at less-than-half of what the typical couple’s vibrators go for right now.

But at the same time, saving money like that usually comes at a cost. With the Double Joy, that cost is noticeably in the vibrational power. It isn’t a particularly powerful vibrator. Depending on your needs, that may not be high on your priority list. If you’re starry-eyed over the app control and the idea of using any type of toy during penetration, the Double Joy might still be a great fit for you.

It’s important to me to remember that not every person starts off with hundreds of dollars to spend on sex toys. If your budget is limited, the Satisfyer Double Joy will offer a couple’s vibrator experience with some additional bells and whistles (most noticeably, the app!). If your finances allow it, there are definitely “better” options out there, but the Satisfyer Double Joy fills the hole for an affordable, intercourse vibrator for couples.

Thanks to Satisfyer for providing this affordable couple’s vibrator for my Satisfyer Double Joy review.
