Designed for the pink-lover in anyone, the Rouge Garments Pink Padded Posture Collar is a bright and colorful alternative to standard black posture collars. Made from leather with plush padding on the interior side, this collar comes equipped with three D-rings and a locking buckle fastener. The collar has a 3″ width for optimal posture correction with a length of 16.5″.
This posture collar comes with minimal packaging. It will have a small tag attached to it, and Bondage Bunnies does a fantastic job packaging it – will come laying flat in an appropriately-sized box to ensure you receive your new pink collar is the best condition possible. Continuing to store it laid flat with no pressure on the padding would be best, but most people don’t have that amount of space available for a two-foot-long collar.
The first thing you’ll notice about the collar after you remove the tags is how well-made this collar is. This isn’t a cheap-feeling collar. The leather is reinforced in multiple places. The padding feels nice and fluffy along the interior of the collar. The holes in the buckle area are well cut. The entire collar seems to stand stiffly for optimal posture use. The D-rings are well sewn-on and don’t seem to be coming off anytime soon. The leather feels soft and nicely conditioned against the skin. It has a nice slickness to it. And of course, the pink leather is extremely vibrant and looks very feminine.
When it comes to bondage possibilities, this collar offers three separate D-rings. Each one of these D-rings is firmly attached to the collar with two sets of rivets and strong, thick leather. The center D-ring is right along the throat area with the two D-rings slightly off to the sides. It’s quite symmetrical and offers enough D-rings to do a leash and two cuffs or many other bondage possibilities.
Speaking of bondage options, the single buckle that fastens the collar is of a locking design. The locking mechanism includes a small, see-through circular hole. This hole allows you to slide a small lock (not included) into the buckle which will effectively lock the collar onto the wearer. If you choose not to lock the collar, the buckle still functions as a regular buckle. All of the pre-cut holes are nicely pre-cut, and the buckle slides through nicely. While it might take a bit of pressure the first couple times you use a particular hole, it starts to loosen up relatively quickly which makes putting on this pink posture collar a whole lot smoother.
Like any posture collar, this collar does as advertised. It will force the wearer to continually look straight ahead. This collar doesn’t fall short on that job just because it’s pink. Both the top and the bottom of the width of the collar have been reinforced with thicker leather to ensure that it makes it uncomfortable for the wearer to look to the sides or look down. It WILL dig into the skin if you do – and that’s what it’s designed to do. To reduce any potential discomfort, make sure the wearer has fully extended their neck before putting on the collar. That gets the collar into the right position in the first place.
As far as comfort goes, while no posture collar is going to be entirely comfortable (as the entire idea to make the person unable to move their head), this collar does a great job of comfort through the padding. While this does make the collar warmer to wear (and you’ll definitely notice the cool breeze of non-collar wearing after you remove the collar), it keeps the collar from pressing too uncomfortably against the neck. The padding especially seems to help if a partner is using the collar with a leash. It reduces a lot of pressure on various areas of the neck that get “tugged” on as the leash pulls onto the collar.
However, as mentioned, the padding does cause the collar to feel a bit warmer, so I wouldn’t recommend this for all-day wear in a hot dungeon. It will start to feel itchy and uncomfortable after awhile unless the collar is removed and the area is wiped down with some chilled water on a regular basis.
When it comes to keeping this collar clean, you’ll want to do your best to ensure that it doesn’t get too dirty in the first place. As it’s made from leather, you don’t want to use harsh dish soaps on the material to avoid harming it. Instead, use a slightly damp washcloth and wipe down the leather material. Make sure you allow it to dry. You could also use leather cleaner and conditioner if you’d like. For storage, laying it entirely flat would be optimal, but if you want it to slowly adjust to your neck size, you may want to occasionally leave it fastened (but empty) at the size of your own neck. Be aware this may start to leave irreversible creases in the leather over time, though.
Overall, if you want a different color than the usual black for bondage items and you want something that’s affordable and good quality, the Rough Garments Pink Padded Posture Collar is going to be fantastic. You can lock it (if you want) and attach lots of other items (if you want). It might get a little warm if worn for too long, but it’s comfortable for leading someone around and does a fantastic job of keeping someone’s head facing entirely straight.
