Nexus Medium G-Play Review

Nexus Medium G-Play
The packaging for the G-play

The Medium Nexus Vibrating G-Play is a silicone g-spot/p-spot toy. The little plug is about three inches in length (so not that large) and is about an inch in diameter at the largest point of its body. (It’s an oval shape, so it’s not an inch all the way around.) Aside from the inch-sized portion, the rest of the toy hovers at about 3/4 of an inch in diameter. The toy does have a flared base that makes it safe for anal use.

The packaging of the Medium Nexus Vibrating G-Play is really cute. It’s just a small plastic cylinder in which the product hangs out inside. This works well for storage if you don’t want your G-Play to get hairs or lint on it. I will say that Nexus needs to find a new way to store their batteries though. When I received my first Nexus G-Play, there was battery acid on the inside and outside of the toy. My current one has a bit of battery corrosion on the inside battery cover, but it was easy to clean up.

I’m really fond of the body of this toy. I absolutely love the silicone material that Nexus uses. It’s slightly plushy, but it ends up feeling more like a really soft, velvety plastic than a silicone which is perfect. Most silicone is so plushy that it absorbs lubricant and can make insertion more painful. Not this one. The toy feels silky smooth and, while not as smooth as glass, it is definitely a lot smoother than most silicone and requires not nearly as much lubricant for use. I would still say that, unless you produce a lot of lubrication yourself, you still probably need external lubrication for vaginal use.

The vibrations are decent and easy to operate. The toy is powered by one AAA battery which is included with the toy. The battery compartment just opens with a fingernail and shuts the same way. The battery is inserted face-down. Once inserted, the vibrations can be turned on with the little power button on the base. The single-speed vibration is actually pretty strong. It’s more buzzy than rumbly though, and it sounds a lot louder than it actually vibrates. It’s about double the strength of a cell phone’s vibrations, and it softens anytime pressure is placed on it (like through the body’s natural muscle clenching.)

The vibration is loud though. It could easily be heard in the same room, and it could probably be heard through a closed door if someone was attempting to listen in. Music sorta masks it, but for being so tiny, it’s surprisingly loud.

I tried this vaginally first. The vibrations were probably strong enough, but no matter how much I moved the toy, I couldn’t manage to make it hit my g-spot. Using my internal muscles didn’t seem to make a difference either. It just ended up being a vibrating little toy. I think that the toy needed a bit more curve to hit the g-spot. The silicone body of the G-Play is nice and slick once lubricated, and the small size does make it very easy to insert.

I think the Nexus G-Play Medium shines a lot more when it comes to anal use. The small size lends itself better to beginner or intermediate anal users. Large users might want to check out the Large Nexus G-Play instead. The small size and slick silicone makes lubricating and inserting to be pretty easy, and the base will keep the toy from getting lost anally.

Showing the base

If you wanted to, the Nexus G-Play Medium is one of those toys that you could stick in a base (Liberator BonBon, for example) and ride up against. The curves aren’t so extreme that it’s uncomfortable to use it that way. This sex toy can also just be left in as a plug while you do other masturbation things.

The submissive said that he didn’t feel any prostate stimulation (but also admits that he doesn’t know much about prostate stimulation), but did say it felt pleasurable. He much preferred turning the toy on and off at different times instead of leaving the vibration on for long stretches of time. He said the long stretches would actually make the toy feel more numbing than pleasurable.

The toy did seem to slip out quite a bit if there was a lot of movement going on, though, so I wouldn’t recommend this toy for any sort of active movement during intercourse. (For example, he could lay down for woman-on-top, but it doesn’t seem to work well for missionary.) The best sensations that he’s found is to insert the plug fully then to intermittently apply pressure and jiggle it without doing any thrusting of it.

It’s pretty easy to clean this little toy. In fact, it can be easily sanitized. The vibration part and base actually removes from the little silicone sleeve portion. It’s a bit of a pain, but it does remove which means you can boil the silicone portion to sterilize it. For regular cleaning, you can use a bit of warm water and antibacterial soap. This is silicone, so you can only use water-based lubricants with it. For storage, the packaging will work or it can also be kept in a plastic baggie along with the rest of your toys. (The plastic baggie is just to keep it from harming other silicone products.) It doesn’t seem to pick up hair or lint that easily, so you could just keep it on the bedside table too.

I like the Nexus Vibrating G-Play in Medium but only in an anal sense. Using it vaginally just wasn’t all that pleasurable. However, the small shape lends itself well to anal play, and the silicone it’s made with feels really gentle and slick which makes it perfect for anal play as well. If you are looking for a g-spot or an anal vibrator, this one makes a good choice.
