Available as one of the few Bluetooth-controlled butt plugs out there, the Lovense Hush is a silicone toy sold by Castle Megastore. Featuring manual control (on the plug itself) as well as the ability to be controlled via PC or mobile app, the Hush offers multiple ways to enjoy partnered (or solo!) play with the plug – even from a different continent. The Hush butt plug is covered in body-safe silicone, and it’s designed to be entirely waterproof.
This is a review over the Lovense Hush Small. The plug is also available in a Medium size. Both plugs only are available in black coloration. The Small is 1.5″ in diameter while the Medium is 1.75″ in diameter. Both plugs, regardless of Small/Medium, are 4.75″ in length with a neck width of 0.75″.
Like other Lovense products, the Hush comes nicely packaged in a sturdy cardboard box. when you open the cardboard box, you’ll find everything you need to start enjoying your Lovense Hush right away. The Hush comes nicely tucked into a foam cut-out made just for it. The box also has an instruction manual and the USB charger (with no wall plug) within it as well. The box is nice and clean, and it’ll work just fine for getting your toy to you – and it’s great for long-term storage of the plug as well.
The Hush has a pretty standard butt plug design. The plug feels like it has an interior rigid core (probably plastic) with a silky smooth layer of silicone coating the entirety of the plug. There are no feelable seams around the length of the plug. The base of the plug will “rock” a bit, but otherwise, the entirety of the Lovense Hush is very rigid with very little flexibility. The single control button is located on the very-base of the toy. The little “pointy tail” of the plug’s base is slightly flexible, but not entirely. It’s possible it could be pokey onto your external bits depending on how your body is designed.
AS AN IMPORTANT NOTE! The Bluetooth transmitter for the butt plug is located in a little upward-pointed piece of silicone on the base of the plug. Take particularly special care of this area and don’t yank on it while inserting/pulling out to avoid breaking your toy. Lovense also recommends pointing this little pointy “tail” of the plug upwards, towards the back, to get a better signal.

As previously mentioned, the Hush vibrating butt plug is entirely rechargeable. There’s a small port at the base of the Lovense Hush. This functions as its charging port. Slide the plug into the charging port until the charging light pops on. It has a bit of resistance, but it’s about on-par for most sex toy charging ports like this. It takes approximately 70 minutes for your new butt plug to reach a full charge. The toy’s light will turn off once the Hush Bluetooth butt plug is done charging. We haven’t hit the “limit” yet during play sessions, but Lovense claims a use time of 1.5 to 2 hours on a single full charge.
When it comes to controlling the Lovense Hush, you have a couple of options. You can use the optional cell phone app (via Bluetooth), or you can use the buttons located right on the butt plug. You can’t use them at the same time, but you can switch between the two methods if necessary.
When it comes to manual use, you will be losing out a bit on the “ease of use” of the remote. The base of the Lovense Hush has a button that’s so slim that it almost melds into the toy itself. You can press this button to cycle through the four patterns and three steady speed vibrational intensities that the Hush butt plug is equipped with. You have to cycle through the entirety in order to get back to the one you enjoyed if you switch off of it. The button is decently easy to press when your hands are unlubricated and dry, but it can become a bit of a fuss if your hands (or the toy) has lube on it. It’s hard to get a firm grip of the base while holding the toy in place in order to press the button. It’s (honestly) usually a two-handed job, and it’s one of the main reasons I don’t do manual control with the plug that much. Just getting the toy unlubed enough in order to hit the button multiple times in a row is a frustrating experience for me.
As for cell phone app use, that’s where the plug will really start to come into its own. The Lovense App offers a whole lot of options for controlling the Lovense Hush. I’ve been impressed with the Lovense app with every single Lovense toy I own including the Domi 2, Ferri, Gush, and Max. When you’re sitting locally, you have a ton of options. For one, you can set the butt plug to vibrate to music while the in-app music player will play the music for you. Have a nice surround sound system or heading to a club? The Lovense Hush can vibrate to external noise levels – like a lovely bass or the sound of your dominant reading a dirty story to you and your phone. The Hush can also play pre-set patterns – or even patterns that you create yourself. In addition, it can do the standard “control it yourself” with a slider bar where you get to decide the exact moment of vibration that it gives for every millisecond that it’s on.
If you’re long-distance? The app has an instant messaging function built right in. You add contacts to your app (like your partner, or maybe just a casual sex buddy online?), and when you both are online, it will allow the contact control over the device you have connected to your phone. In this chat window, you can exchange photos, exchange texts, or use a simple “voice to text” command built into the app. Of course, that’s in addition to the fact that your Lovense Contact will be controlling the device as you enjoy all those things. After you’re done, for added peace of mind, the entire chat log can be easily erased with a push of a button. I’m sure someone in security would say that it’s not necessarily untraceable, but it can keep all of those details out of prying eyes if someone accidentally gets ahold of your phone.
The vibration intensity itself is pretty impressive, honestly. Like, normally I’d just blow off someone’s claim of “power vibrations!” as sex toys marketing copy, but Lovense did a surprisingly good job with the Hush. It’s stronger than most butt plugs we own. Depending on the strength (and how long you use the plug), the vibrations can start to feel a bit numbing (2 hours of vibration is kinda intense), but if you vary up the intensity of the vibrations, the vibrations can be a very pleasurable addition to the sensation of the butt plug itself. The vibrations seem pretty nicely focused in the lower portion of the shaft of the plug. They’re very easily felt throughout the toy – even on the lowest setting – and are pretty pleasurable on all of the settings, honestly.
That being said, with strong vibrations comes, well, noise. The Lovense Hush is not particularly quiet. It’s not particularly LOUD, but it’s not quiet either. It’s easily noticeable in a quiet room. It’s noticeable outside of a closed door if the house is quiet. It starts to blend in as noise is added in, and with the television on in the living room, you can’t hear it in the bedroom through a closed door. So what does that mean, practically-speaking? It means you should think-through where you plan to use the Lovense Hush – especially if you plan on doing anything in public. A quiet, romantic dinner restaurant? Probably not. A loud bar and grill? You’re likely fine. If you have nosy roommates, the Lovense Hush might also be a bit of a stretch for you. But if you have thick walls and they’re usually in their own rooms, the noise will likely be fine with some music or television on.
It’s important that the butt plug itself feel good. This will largely depend on your anatomy and how much “depth training” you’ve done. The Lovense Hush is noticeably pretty long compared to many other butt plugs. To add to that dilemma, the tip of the plug – which is slightly torpedo-shaped – is also made of very firm, rigid material. There is no plushiness to any part of the Hush. This means that, if you’re not used to long butt plugs, the tip of the plug can be uncomfortably “pokey” during use. It really depends on how comfortable you’ve gotten with long, internal toys. If you’ve stuck with toys that are only an inch in length, I’d recommend doing some depth training before picking up the Lovense Hush. You’ll enjoy the Hush more then.
Apart from the pokey internal bits, the Lovense Hush is pretty standardly-shaped. A neat addition was the looped texture around the retention area. I’m actually impressed by this. It offers a bit more “resistance” to keep the plug inside of the body. Because of the tech in the Lovense Hush, it’s a bit heavier than a non-vibrating plug of this size would be. Heft can start to pull the plug out of the body because it’s just too difficult for the internal muscles to control. The texture around the retention area does seem to reduce the pull of gravity during upright positions. That being said….
With something like a wirelessly controlled butt plug like this, it’s also important that the plug actually stay in the body. Most people are going to be interested in using this in public, and it needs to behave. The Lovense Hush does a middle-of-the-road job of this. Like mentioned before, the texture on the retention area does help the plug stay in, but it isn’t entirely solved by the texture. The plug still weighs a decent amount, and during lots of upright use, the plug can tend to slide itself out. To help prevent this, I’d do a couple things. First: think ahead. The Lovense Hush is not the plug to wear to a theme park where you’ll be upright and walking all day. However, it’s mostly-fine for lots of periods of sitting like heading out to a restaurant for dinner or watching a movie. Second: if you plan on wearing the Lovense Hush out in public, try to pick tight clothing that will help hold the plug in. You might consider some tight, thin underwear – or even a butt plug harness could be a good idea.
When it comes to controlling the butt plug in the bedroom, the Lovense Hush performs absolutely perfectly. It’s actually amazing how perfectly it works. The slightest touch during the Live Mode translates perfectly to the plug. It’s to the point where I’m never concerned as to whether the Lovense Hush is actually vibrating the mode I’m telling it to. It does an amazing job, and I’ve come to depend on it being just as effective as I want it to be. As long as I’m controlling it locally and the person is in the room with me with minimal clothing, it’s definitely an A+ on control.
Controlling the butt plug in public is usually a different story for most plugs. For whatever reason, the Lovense Hush is the exception to that rule. We get a little bit of spottiness in outdoor areas, but as long as you’re indoors in a relatively normal indoor space (not a convention hall-huge), the Lovense Hush seems to function just as perfectly as when you’re playing with it in the bedroom. We’ve tried it through thin clothes and heavier denim, and it seems to do pretty damn well. This is probably the best cell phone control we’ve ever found in a butt plug before, and it’s really impressive. In the same room – or even when he walked into a separate room – the plug seemed to obey commands just fine.
Finally, the Lovense Hush also comes equipped with the ability to control the butt plug through the internet. Like mentioned above, just use the app, and you’ll be set. The Lovense Hush has a little bit of a delay, but honestly, it seems to be well-within tolerable. If I change the vibrational intensity setting on my app, I’m like 90% sure that it changed on the toy, and if it didn’t change with that particular instance, I’m pretty sure it’ll change when I make the next modification. It’s reliable enough that I don’t have to worry about asking “Did something happen?” while playing online with him – which is important for me. I can depend on it to do its job, and that’s all I need from it. The long-distance control is amazing as well. It has more of a delay than the “instant” gratification of in-person control, but it isn’t much of one.
Cleaning the Lovense Hush wireless butt plug is pretty simple. As the Lovense Hush is entirely waterproof, your biggest concern is just doing a thorough clean-up of the toy. Warm water and anti-bacterial soap will do a fantastic job. Lovense recommends doing a top-up charge every six months at a minimum. And as the Hush is made from silicone, you should be using water-based lubricant when playing with the toy.
Overall, I honestly have nothing but praise for the Lovense Hush. I can confidently say that it’s likely a wireless remote-controlled butt plug that you can take most anywhere you want – and where a cell phone would be allowed. The plug design itself works pretty well, and it puts vibrations in the places where you’d like them most. The vibrations are powerful – though not necessarily super quiet – and the plug cleans up really easily as well. As long as you want to use this plug somewhere in a standard indoor space where noise isn’t an issue, I think you’ll really love the Lovense Hush for public play – or even just for some sexy bedroom play instead!
