LELO Sutra Chainlink Cuffs Review
Showing the LELO Sutra Cuffs

UPDATE MAY 2022: The LELO Sutra cuffs are no longer in production! This sex toy review remains as a reference for those who are interested in these restraints. While you’re here, why not check out my BDSM advice, femdom advice, and BDSM scene outlines?

The LELO Sutra Chainlink Cuffs are luxury cuffs made from LELO that go with the rest of the LELO Accessories. The cuffs are made a bit differently than the other LELO cuffs that I’ve tried. These cuffs are made with metal, suede, and silk which is an odd combination when you think about it. Each one of the cuffs is physically about five or six inches long, but they adjust larger. The chain and the silk that connects the two cuffs is a bit bigger than twelve inches long.

I really enjoy the packaging for the Sutra Chainlink Cuffs. The outer box is nice and classy and just displays a picture of the cuffs. Inside the outer box is an inner box that is completely black and discreet. Inside this little box, the LELO cuffs are wrapped up in some high-quality paper. These cuffs can be stored in the original box, and the original box can also be used for gift-giving. (In fact, I’d recommend it for that since the packaging is so nice.)

These cuffs connect in an interesting way. At the end of each silk cuff, there’s a little latch clip. The cuff goes around your wrist, and then the latch clip will connect to the chain on the opposite side of the cuff that connects the two cuffs together. This means that adjustable to a degree. For men with large wrists, I don’t think these cuffs would fit. I have large feminine wrists, and I need the largest setting to comfortably wear these. However, for most smaller-wrist people, these cuffs should fit fine. I have no problem latching the clips to the chain.

For the price, you might be a bit worried about the quality. Don’t be. The inside of these cuffs where it slides against your skin is made from very soft silk. The silk has a floral pattern that keeps it from sliding around the against the skin too much. The outside of the cuffs is covered in an amazingly soft suede (one of the softest I’ve felt) with another silk strand attached to the backside where the metal pieces are attached. The layers of suede and silk seem to be sewn together amazingly, and the silk attaching the metal pieces seems well-sewn as well. While I wouldn’t expect these cuffs to handle large amounts of stress, I would expect them to handle light to regular use with no problem.

That brings me to my next point – these will not handle a lot of full-strength pulling. These cuffs were meant to be sensual and soft. They will only take light to moderate strength tugging. Anything more and you risk ripping the stitching from the cuffs. If kept on the tightest setting for your wrist, you shouldn’t be able to just struggle out of the cuffs. You also can not use the hand that the cuff is on to undo the cuff. However, if you can reach the opposite hand over to undo the cuff, it’s easy to undo that way.

These cuffs fit the boyfriend’s wrists perfectly, and he says that they are amazingly comfortable. There is enough material in the cuff to perfectly circle his wrist as well. However, when it comes to my larger wrists, there isn’t enough material to circle my wrist. The chain allows for the cuff to attach to my wrist with little problem, but there is a two-inch gap where the material isn’t long enough to cover as far as the cuff clasps. This isn’t a big deal in terms of use, but I thought it’s something I’d mention for those with larger wrists since it doesn’t look quite as pretty as if the cuff was longer. The shortness of the material doesn’t seem to affect the comfort though. Either with larger wrists or with smaller wrists, these cuffs are amazingly comfortable to lounge around in.

With some of the other LELO Accessories I’ve tried (like the Etherea Cuffs and Intima Blindfold), I found myself feeling like the price wasn’t nearly worth the item. In this case, I feel that to a lesser degree but still a bit. These are amazingly soft cuffs that feel amazingly sensual. They also are unique in design and something you can’t find as easily with other cuffs. For this reason, I still think they’re a bit overpriced, but it’s still something I’d recommend if the cuffs look comfortable and intriguing to you. Because of the softness of the cuffs, the ease of putting them on, and the gorgeous packaging, this would actually make an amazing set to introduce your partner to bondage if they are nervous. These don’t look anything like the traditional “scary” hard-core leather cuffs. For someone who is nervous or afraid of bondage, this is a great start.

Really, though, I do end up enjoying the LELO Sutra Chainlink cuffs. It has so far improved my outlook on the rest of the LELO BDSM set. The boyfriend enjoys wearing them during pegging, and while our play is too rough for use of these most times, he actually ends up wearing these to bed. Because there aren’t any tight pieces on it, it is extremely comfortable for him to sleep in and still provides the feeling of restraint while, in case of an emergency, I know he can get himself out.
