LELO Boa Pleasure Ties Review

LELO Boa Pleasure Ties
The plain, black, discreet box

The LELO Boa Restraints are a part of the LELO Bondage Accessories series: a set of high-quality, sensual bondage products. This restraint is made from metal, suede, and silk in two separate cuffs that are included in the box. Each cuff is 42 inches in length which is perfect for tying it to external bondage points. Instead of using a traditional buckle, this restraint uses two rings that work together to hold the cuff in the right place.

Like always, the packaging for this LELO product is beautiful. The outer box is just a cardboard box that shows off a picture of the cuffs and lists all the features on the backside of the box. Inside this outer box is a gorgeous, plain black box. This box is extremely discreet, and no one would look in this box since it’s so plain. Inside the box, the cuffs are wrapped inside some high-quality paper which opens easily to expose the restraints. This is all recyclable if you choose to dispose of the packaging.

It’s pretty hard to get the restraints folded just right to get them back in the box like this. It takes quite a few tries, and even then, it’s a bit frustrating. I feel like a bigger box would have been a lot more helpful.

The Boa Restraints are really neat. They are so different from typical bondage. Each restraint is just a long piece of fabric with two O-rings on the end of it. On the opposite end, the strand is filled with small pearls that keep the fabric weighed down nicely during use. The pearls don’t weigh much, but it’s an obvious weight that will keep the strand from flying away. The restraint has a sewn-in “line” near the end of the pearls that keeps them from moving up the body of the restraints.

The restraints look pretty too. The fabric has two sides. One side is a plain, black silk that is soft to the touch. The opposite side is a suede fabric that has a flowery design on it. The flowery design feels really nice against the skin. There is a small LELO tag sewn in near the O-rings, and all of the stitching seems nicely done and like it isn’t going to come out.

How do these work? It’s actually really neat. It works like a typical two D-ring waist belt would. The fabric makes a loop around the parts you are restraining, is pulled through the two O-rings, then doubled back around one o-ring to keep the silk strand in place. From there, the tension of the two rings keep the restraints from letting go or loosening. It’s pretty easy to tighten the entire thing though.

The excess length can be used for many things. You will end up with excess length because the cuffs are really long, and if you are just tying up wrists, the excess length can seem a little awkward. However, it’s really easy to tie this cuff up to a bedpost or anything else. Because the cuffs have a lot of room to them, you can easily use this to restrain just a wrist, both wrists, just an ankle, or both ankles easily as well.

If you wanted to take advantage of both restraints that are included, you can easily use a Boa tie on both the wrist and both the ankles then tie them together for a neat bondage experience. While I didn’t try it, the product description also mentions that the restraints can be left overtop a door, the door pulled shut, and the pearls will keep the restraints from sliding through which turns your door into a piece of bondage furniture.

The Boa Pleasure Ties were not intended to be restraints for rough bondage. They work just fine for most light bondage, but if you start pulling too roughly on the ties, they aren’t going to hold up. It’s not that they’ll rip, but the O-rings will let the material slip between them. This set is much more intended for sensual, pleasurable bondage than a rough, kinky experience. The cuffs do end up holding pretty decently though which is nice.

Sometimes tying the cuffs together can be a pain too. The silk/suede of the fabric ends up creating tight knots that don’t come apart. Sure, it’s great while you’re playing, but when you want to untie them afterwards, it can take a bit of effort. Luckily, you can easily loosen the cuffs without having the ends free, so you can let your partner out and deal with unknotting the cuffs together. The knots don’t pose too much of an issue; it’s more of an annoyance than anything else.

The cuffs feel sensual against the skin. They aren’t uncomfortable at all. The O-rings can sometimes press awkwardly into the skin, but it never scratches nor cuts off circulation. Sometimes I feel like the O-rings are oddly huge for a cuff this size, but it ends up working out. However, when just attaching the restraint to a lone wrist, the O-rings make up about 1/3 of the “material” that goes around my wrist. This can sometimes look awkwardly huge, and other times, it looks really elegant. The bondage cuff doesn’t tug on arm hair either – unlike the occasional rope bondage problem.

Cleaning the Boa Pleasure Ties is easy. You just have to use a slightly damp washcloth and wipe the fabric down. Keep these away from bodily fluids or lubricant since they may damage the material. For storage, you can keep it in the original box, but it’s also a pain to get all of the stuff to go back into the box as well. They don’t seem to pick up too much lint while they will pick up dust if not moved around.

The LELO Boa Pleasure Ties are gorgeous, satin and suede bondage restraints that work well for sensual bondage scenes. If you want to adventure into bondage but are afraid of more “serious looking” bondage accessories, the Pleasure Ties are a soft, sexy alternative to other things out there. The restraints are sexy, fun, and easy to use, and easy to take care of. I just wish the O-rings were a little smaller and the cuffs were a bit shorter in length.
