Looking for something to change up how spanking feels? This Dr. Sado E-Stim Crop review showcases a riding crop that features electrostimulation technology. Essentially, with every swat, you can add a bit of an electrosex shock!
The Dr. Sado E-Stim Crop makes this e-stimulation happen through contact points built into the striking tip and stem of the riding crop. When the electrosex functionality is turned on, when those points touch the skin, it delivers a “zap!”.
The crop has a pretty wide tip width of 2.4″ with two dedicated metal contact points on the tip. (You must make contact with both of the metal contact points for electrosex to happen via the tip.)
With the electronics inside, the Dr. Sado E-Stim Crop weighs more than your average riding crop. It features a thicker-than-average handle for gripping its 21.2″ total length. The majority of the crop is made from faux leather with a plastic handle.
The Zeus e-Stim Crop is rechargeable with the charging port located at the very base of the handle. It recommends you charge it first thing when you receive it. According to its instruction manual, it has a charge time of 2 hours with a playtime of 1 hour. It’s unclear if that’s “one hour of actively administering shocks” or “1 hour of having the riding crop turned on”. Throughout all of our Dr. Sado E-Stim Crop review tests, we have not had to recharge the battery yet.

Okay, How Intense Is It?
Sometimes, I worry that an electrostimulation toy is going to be so intense that I won’t actually be able to use it.
That fear was unnecessary with the Dr. Sado E-Stim Crop. It’s, honestly, pretty chill.
The Dr. Sado E-Stim Crop has two intensity settings.
The lowest intensity setting feels a bit like a light, flat-handed tap. It doesn’t “shock” so much as it surprises. Neither of us really feel it as “painful”. It feels like it makes more noise – and offers more of a surprising “bap” – than the strike by itself.
It has that electrosex “zap” sound, though, so if that’s triggering, even this lowest setting will still be triggering.
It doesn’t, however, have much power behind it, so if you’re turned on by the idea of using an electrosex riding crop or being “zapped” but actually don’t have much interest in a lot of pain, this is pretty much the perfect setting.
The second setting is more intense, but it’s still not all that powerful. It’s on-par with being snapped with a rubber band. You definitely get more of an “owwie” to it, but it’s still not strong enough to force someone to move away from the sensation. It’s intense enough to feel the electrosex shock, but it’s not so intense that someone will unconsciously move away from the sensation when they’re expecting the electrosex addition.
If you aren’t expecting the electrosex addition, this second setting can pack more of a punch, turning a standard riding crop swat into a sharper, stingier sensation that the bottom wasn’t expecting. It, essentially, takes the standard riding crop swat up several knots, but it still isn’t unbearable for anyone who enjoys sharp, hard slaps.
While I wish there was a more intense setting, this second setting works for my needs. During any given BDSM impact play scene, I can swap between riding crops at a moment’s notice. Being able to grab this electrosex crop – with its bonus e-stimulation “oomph” – becomes an unexpected jolt to a bottom who has gotten used to the standard swat of riding crops throughout the scene.
Both settings make that “spark” sound when the electrosex shock meets skin.

How to Use Dr. Sado E-Stim Riding Crop
You always want to keep your electrosex play limited to exactly where you want it. You don’t want to accidentally (and shockingly!) bap someone where you hadn’t intended.
The control system of the Dr. Sado E-Stim Riding Crop makes that surprisingly simple.
The handle of the riding crop has three buttons on it. Press and hold the power button to turn on the riding crop. (You can also press and hold to turn it off.)
Once the riding crop’s indicator light is green (showing that the toy is live), press and hold the 1 button OR 2 button to choose your intensity level.

The Dr. Sado E-Stim Riding Crop does not provide a shock unless you are actively holding the 1 or 2 button when you spank someone with the crop.
If you aren’t holding down one of those two buttons, the electrosex functionality is dormant, and it will not send out a shock.
This is a nice double-confirmed safety feature. Not only does the riding crop need to be turned on, but you also have to press and hold the desired intensity button when actively making the spank, making it virtually impossible to accidentally shock someone.
Just make sure to keep your hands free of lube and moisture. The Dr. Sado E-Stim Riding Crop’s handle is made from rounded plastic and entirely smooth. This means it can get slippery if your hands are lubed up – and you really don’t want water or lube near the control buttons anyway.

As a final note, to actually administer the shock, both of the electrosex contact probes on the tip of the riding crop must make contact with the skin. If only one makes contact, it will not add the electrosex stimulation. This means you’ll need to spank with laid-flat strokes if you’re hoping to add the electrosex shock to any given spank.
If you want to add even more sensations, the Dr. Sado E-Stim Riding Crop continues to administer electrostimulation as long as the two metal probes are touching skin. If you want to spank someone, then leave the riding crop’s tip on their skin, it will provide electrosex sensations until you pick the crop back up again.
When pressed up against the skin and held there, it feels very prickly. It gives me goosebumps, and it makes me ultra-aware of the exact spot where the riding crop is being held. It’s not necessarily “painful”, but it’s an interesting, creeping sensation that almost makes me want to pull away. Extremely unique, 10/10, will definitely continue to make bottoms experience it too. ;)

Dr. Sado E-Stim Crop Review: In Use
Electrosex, in general, can be kinda terrifying. Especially if you start off your electrosex journey with a TENS unit or powerbox, it can feel like you need to learn a brand new skillset in order to play with electricity.
The Dr. Sado E-Stim Crop puts that idea to shame. It’s built extremely simply – and that’s a good thing! Turn it on, then press and hold a button, and the riding crop is live, adding a little electrifying jolt wherever you swat.
And that’s really its main selling point. It’s literally “pick up and play”. You can explain it to anyone in seconds, and they’ll get it. No cords, added accessories, or additional gear required.
I will say this: with the electrosex functionality built into the riding crop, this is not a toy I “go heavy” with. I mostly use this for light-to-medium swats, occasionally turning on the electrosex functionality to add a bit of intensity behind my swat. With all of the electronics inside of the crop, I don’t use the stem as a cane or land any extra-hard hits with it. I don’t want to break a toy that’s expensive compared to my standard riding crops.
My only other large complaint? I wish it had a wrist strap of some sort. I really love to use my riding crops as casual corporal punishment. I’ll keep them on me during a scene or a hotel takeover, and if my submissive needs a bit of “correcting”, I’ll give them a light swat. The lack of a wrist strap makes it hard to effortlessly keep nearby even though I love the electrostimulation functionality for those corrective swats. So it ends up getting delegated to in-scene-with-a-table-use entirely, and that’s not my preferred method.
But it is what it is.

Final Thoughts: Dr. Sado E-Stim Crop Review
Dr. Sado e-Stim Crop Review
Summary
Easy to use and operate, the Dr. Sado E-Stim Crop is extremely approachable for virtually anyone. With its basic control design, you could even pick it up as your very-first spanking toy. From double redundancy protection against accidental shocks to a relatively mild shock and an easy-aim design, everything about this riding crop is just plain simple.
If you’re looking for extra-intense pain via electrostimulation, the Dr. Sado E-Stim Crop will probably not be a good fit. It adds a bit of “zap” on its strongest setting, but it doesn’t begin to compare with the power you can get with a Violet Wand, Zapper, or other electrosex toys. It does add a “wake up!” zing to your spank, but if you’re trying to add e-stimulation to elicit additional pain, you may be better off purchasing a heavier toy instead.
Instead, the Dr. Sado E-Stim Crop adds a firmly “there” zapping sensation without worrying about it being too much. It adds some “oomph” to your average swat, and it swaps up the monotony of impact play with a simple press of a button.
Plus, it’s rechargeable, so you don’t have to worry about extra cords or batteries; just make sure to top up the battery before you play, and you’ll be good to go!
The Dr. Sado e-Stim Crop review from MEO.de may also be considered a Zeus electrosex e-stim crop review. They are the same toy.
