UPDATE JULY 2023: The Cloud 9 Deluxe Enema Douche appears to be no longer available in its old kit iteration. Instead, you may want to look into the b-Vibe Classic Enema Bulb or the Cloud 9 Non-Backflow Enema Bulb. While you’re here, why not check out some additional educational info – like online submissive tasks, beginner pegging positions, saran wrap bondage, and enema 101 info.
A hand-held enema toy, the Cloud9 Deluxe Enema Douche set was designed for internal cleaning of the bumbum. Featuring a flat-bottom bulb (PVC) and three varying tips (plastic), this set easily comes together with a screw-on design. The bulb is made from soft, squishable PVC while the tips are made from plastic. The tips feature a screw-on design to attach it to the bulb, and all items can be washed individually for easy clean-up for something that’s going to touch the butt relatively often. The bulb holds 11.8 ounces at maximum (though you’ll likely rarely be able to fill it fully full), and the included tips range in length from 4″ to 7″.
(This review was written from the anal perspective. We have never used this for vaginal cleaning because of the plethora of research and information that says that most vaginas do not need to be douched. It could also be used for enema play purposes.)
Cloud9 Deluxe Enema Douche Set: Interchangeable Tips
One of the big selling points of the Cloud9 Deluxe Enema Douche set are the interchangeable tips. The kit comes with three plastic tips. The enema bulb utilizes a “screw-on” design that allows you to switch out each one of the three tips at any point. You can easily start with one and switch to another mid-play if you choose. Since the bulb stands upright on its own, you can place the bulb (filled with your liquid, if you prefer!) on a flat surface, and you can easily screw in the tip you’re looking to use. All tips screw in really smoothly, and we’ve had no issues with tips getting feisty.
The tip plastic is seamless (no sharp edges), and it’s made of that lovely, silky-smooth plastic that your hands can easily glide over. This makes for easy insertion, and it takes a minimal amount of lube. The tips are 100% rigid, and they don’t have any flexibility to them at all. This means you’ll want to be careful about inserting them, or you can pretty easily “poke” your partner’s (or yours!) internal parts in a not-pleasant way.
The smallest enema attachment is a slim, straight tip. It’s 4″ in length with 0.5″ in diameter. It has two holes on the sides (which sit on opposing sides from one another) and one hole in the tip. It’s definitely the shallowest of the tips, and it’s designed for just slipping into the body for shallow rinsing. It’s, quite literally, the width of a finger, so it’s very approachable.
The medium-sized enema tip is 5.75″ in length with a diameter of 1.1″-ish. This is the curved-tip attachment seems like it was designed for shallow g-spot or p-spot stimulation. The three holes on this tip help with that as well. There’s one hole at the tip of the curved tip and the other two holes are on the bottom-side of the curve where it’d meet the erogenous zone. It has a fourth hole on the “top” side of the curve where it wouldn’t be touching your erogenous.
The longest enema tip is 7″ in length with a diameter of 0.75″. This is the longest attachment, and it can be used for the deepest sensations for your enema (if that’s what you’re after). It’s noticeably thicker than the slim, straight tip (the smallest one), but not as wide as the medium-sized curved-tip attachment. This attachment has a texture near the tip which looks like a “plus-sign” when viewed from the top down. This tip has five holes: four holes are within the most-sunken parts of the plus sign while the final hole is on the top of the tip.
Cloud9 Deluxe Enema Douche Set: Let’s Talk about the Bulb
One of my favorite things about this interchangeable enema set is the fact that the bulb itself will actually sit up. The bulb has a flat base at the bottom, so you can easily rest the bulb upright if you need to. This eliminates a lot of accidental spills, and it reduces anal germs getting all over (if you’re using it anally). I especially love this for sexual enema play purposes. If using an enema receipt as part of a scene, you don’t necessarily need to shoot for constant liquid filling. The fact that the bulb sits up on its own makes it really easy to set it aside and do some teasing or do anything else you had in mind.
The bulb is made from a thicker PVC. You don’t necessarily have to squeeze to get the liquid out (if gravity is working with you), but it definitely helps. With that in mind, the PVC isn’t the easiest thing to squeeze in the world. I wouldn’t call it difficult, but I would say you’ll end up with a sore hand if you’re going back for 6-10 full top-ups by the end of it all. (I so needed a hand massage). If you’re doing light cleansing, you likely won’t notice the thickness of the PVC too much (unless you have hand strength concerns), but if you’re going for a long-term scene or going back in for lots of refills, you might begin to feel some of the strain of consistently squeezing the bulb.
Cloud9 Deluxe Enema Douche Set: Using It
The Cloud9 Novelties Deluxe Enema Douche seems to work exactly as expected. I haven’t had any issues with it leaking near the connection area. The squeezing works pretty much exactly as you’d expect it to. The rigid plastic tips – while they require care to avoid pushing against an internal wall – require minimal lubrication and slide into the body pretty easily. Depending on what size of enemas you’re used to receiving, you’ll likely need to go back for multiple “trips” to get enough liquid into the body. If you’re just doing a shallow cleanse, though, a bulb-full or two will be all you need.
Cloud9 Deluxe Enema Douche Set: Cleaning It
After you’re done with using it, you’ll want to do a thorough clean of the Deluxe Enema Douche. Since this will go inside you (and since it’ll be used for “cleaning”), there’s no point in using it if it isn’t clean itself. A bath of warm water and soapy water can clean it out pretty nicely. I especially recommend filling the bulb with that soapy water and squirting it through all of the tips you used – in addition to standard elbow grease on the outside of the tips. Depending on what your body “looked like” internally that day, you might consider using a toothpick to ensure the holes of the tips are entirely gunk-free.
Cloud9 Deluxe Enema Douche Set: What’s the Packaging Like?
The Cloud9 Novelties Deluxe Enema Douche comes packaged in plastic blister-pack packaging. This packaging allows you to “pop open” the packaging and get at the enema tips and enema bulb inside. The packaging clearly displays what’s in the packaging, and it has a cardboard insert for more info too. The packaging could be used for long-term storage if you prefer, but it’s an odd shape and not easily-stackable, so that’s entirely up to you. It would keep all of the pieces together in one place, though.
Overall, the Cloud9 Deluxe Enema Douche does exactly what it claims to do – and it does it well. The flat-base of the enema bulb has made it invaluable for sexual and fetish use – not just as a cleaning tool in the bathroom. The tips change out easily, and the water flow is comfortable and not overwhelming. The PVC Bulb can be a little hard to squeeze (especially if you have hand strength concerns), but that’s pretty much my only complaint. Plus, the whole set is pretty! Thanks to Cloud9 for providing this cute enema bulb for my Cloud9 Deluxe Enema Douche review.
