Looking for a wirelessly-controlled butt plug with a lot of vibrational power to boot? Then you’re going to want to look at the Trio Plug by B-Vibe. The second flagship toy from B-Vibe, this butt plug is made entirely from silicone and much more slender than their original release. The plug’s 4.3″ length and 1.25″ diameter are available in either purple or black. Equipped with three powerful motors, the plug offers 8 vibration levels and 9 vibration patterns. The toy is entirely rechargeable within two hours, and it’s splashproof (but not waterproof!) for easier cleaning.
Of course, one of my favorite features from B-Vibe toys is their perfect packaging. The Trio Plug itself comes in a gorgeous, high-quality box with tasteful packaging that clearly displays the features of the toy. However, to make it better, inside the box, you’ll find a zip-up plastic case. This case includes a mesh sleeve on one side. The case is large enough to easily fit the plug, the charging cable, the remote, the instruction book, and even more stuff. The case is insanely sturdy, and it probably goes in some of my “Top 10” for “cases included with toys”. It makes it really easy to keep track of all of the items that you’ll want for your Trio Plug – especially making the plug easy to travel with.
Slimmer in size than the B-Vibe’s flagship Rimming plug, the Trio Plug is a bit more beginner-friendly. Its thickest width is 1.25″ in diameter – well within the grasp of most people who’ve had a minimal amount of anal experience under their belt. With the tapered tip, almost anyone who’s had anal experience will be able to use this plug – even if it takes a bit of working up to. If you regularly have anal sex with a biological penis, you’ll most-likely have no issue with the Trio’s size.
In order to use your plug (though it does come with a bit of charge!), you’ll want to take advantage of its rechargeability to give it is first charge. It takes about two hours to charge the Trio plug fully, and the battery will run for about an hour and a half of constant use once the toy is fully charge. The butt plug recharges with a magnetic charging port that attaches itself to the base. It has a pretty strong magnet to it, and it will stay connected decently well. It won’t hold the weight of the plug, but it does stay attached through pretty much any other jostling you put it through.
The remote uses a CR 2032 battery, but it already comes with one. It’ll be awhile until you need to replace it – but the remote control’s battery door slides open relatively easily for when that time comes. The instructions recommend storing the remote’s battery separate from the remote in order to keep the battery alive as long as possible.
Both the remote and the vibrator come equipped with a travel lock. However, if you’re storing your set in the zip-up casing, you probably won’t find much need to lock either one unless you’re planning on some rough travel.
The Trio Plug uses the same remote design that the Rimming Plug does. That is, it’s a small, pebble-sized remote with a simple and clear system. There’s a power button, an intensity increase button, and a pattern button. It’s exactly as simple as it sounds. The pattern button will change the current pattern, and the increase/decrease buttons will allow you to adjust the intensity of the vibration of that particular pattern.
Of course, with such an easy-to-use remote control and plug design, the two are pretty simple to use – even if you’re new to wireless toys. Make sure both the plug and remote are out of travel mode and turn them both on. And done. Literally, that’s it. They automatically connect to one another without any sort of fuss or annoyance. As long as you have the wireless vibrating butt plug continually on, you can use the remote’s function to turn the vibrations on and off at any given movement without having to touch the plug again. I’m sure the plug has some sort of time-out mode, but after multiple uses, I have yet to figure out what it is. As long as I turn it back on at some point with the remote, the butt plug is ready and waiting for the command. Be aware that keeping the butt plug on and awaiting commands will drain the plug’s battery, though, so if you don’t have plans to “torture” the wearer in the near future, just keep it turned off and make them hit the restroom to turn it on when necessary.
Much like its predecessor, the B-Vibe Trio Plug has an amazing range – one that won’t wimp out on you in public. We had absolutely no cut-outs when used with and without clothing – and both when used in and outside of our home. It responds pretty well to all button presses (though it occasionally might miss one or two?), but it even responded from an entirely different room (and I’m sure my partner got a surprise when he was trying to pee).
If you can’t find the remote or don’t want to hassle with it, though, the Trio plug can still be controlled by the plug itself. It doesn’t require the remote. The power button on the base of the plug will turn on the toy, and subsequent presses of the button will cycle through the various vibration modes. You can, however, switch over to using the wireless function at any point.
When it comes to the vibrations, the B-Vibe Trio brings it – as-in, three simultaneous motors. One located in the tip, one in the thickest part, and one in the retention area of the plug. The wearer remarked that the motor in the retention area was, by far, the most pleasurable, and he’s surprised that more anal toy creators don’t add vibrations to one of the most nerve-packed areas where the plug will be worn. He was quite taken with all of the vibration levels. The patterns mix it up between the various motors, and honestly, it’s pretty packed full of power. While I don’t think most people can orgasm from anal vibrations alone, the vibrations are intense enough to pretty much be felt (and feel pleasured by) constantly when the wireless anal vibrator is on – even on the lowest setting. There’s really no ignoring the vibrations.
While we never had any issues with the BVibe’s Rimming plug sliding out, we have had some issues with the Trio plug. I think this is because the toy is much slimmer – yet the base is about the same weight. The Trio stays in perfectly fine when sitting or standing, but a long walk to the nearby restaurant had the plug sliding out. A subsequent attempt made us realize that tight clothing will help keep the plug in (especially for those with a tinier butt who’s clothing presses up against the base more), so you’ll want to choose your clothing to match your wearing style. If you plan on taking this bad boy in public, make sure you have some tighter clothing or a butt plug harness.
That being said, the base of the Trio remains the same size as the Rimming plug – that is to say: large. This base is not one that will disappear from recognition between your cheeks. You are going to feel this base every second you’re wearing it – you’ll notice its thickness between your cheeks. That being said, it isn’t uncomfortable, and as long as it’s lubed, it doesn’t really chafe. It just constantly makes you aware of its presence – which might be exactly what you’re after if someone has a plug in your ass. It does, however, tend to feel a bit uncomfortable if you sit on hard surfaces while wearing the plug – especially if you are the aforementioned “tiny of butt”. To avoid the discomfort, just avoid hard surfaces (like a dining room chair with no padding) and stick to softer ones (like restaurant booths or couches).
While I’m fond of all of the plugs that B-Vibe makes, out of the two, I’d have to recommend the Rimming Plug over the Trio Plug if you can fit the wider girth of the former plug. While the Trio plug is pleasurable, we’ve had issues with the plug slipping out (which may be due to personal reasons) that we don’t have with the Rimming Plug. As such, it’s easier to go with the larger plug and have the peace of mind that it’s not going to slip out. That being said, dealing with the slipping isn’t really an issue if you’re laying down, staying still, or sitting down – which means the Trio still works for us sometimes – and it’s definitely not a reason to pass it up. It just might mean planning a different outfit if you’re hoping to use the plug in public.
Though not entirely waterproof, the Trio Plug is splashproof. This does make it a bit easier to clean. Don’t entirely submerge the toy under water, but you can be a bit more liberal with the anti-bacterial soap and water without having to worry. Make sure the butt plug is entirely dry before you put it away – especially since you’ll hopefully be storing it in its lovely zip-up case. Any water-based lubricants should work just fine with the B-Vibe Trio Butt Plug, but it’s possible some silicone-based ones may work as well for long-term wearing (we haven’t tested them yet). Make sure to do a spot test on the base first if you plan on using silicone-based.
Overall, I love the Trio for its similarity to the Rimming Plug I already own. If I didn’t already own the B-Vibe’s Rimming Plug, I think I’d be very dazzled by the Trio, but as it is, I prefer the Rimming Plug out of the two – it just stays in better (and honestly, that’s the sole reason for the preference). The two plugs operate similarly – super easy to charge, fantastic packaging, amazing range, good vibration range and remote receptivity, great coloring and design, and easy-to-use operation. Really, I have no complaints about anything aside from the plug’s size – and how easily it slides out. That, however, could be a personal issue that other people won’t find. Regardless, depending on your experience level, either the Trio or Rimming plugs are plugs you are not going to regret purchasing. They’re amazing and a show of what a wireless butt plug really should be. Thanks to BVibe for providing this wireless butt plug for my Trio Plug review.
