A wireless, remote-control bullet vibrator, the Elva is a new silicone wireless vibrator released from Svakom. Available in a purple or a pink, this sex toy is entirely rechargeable, waterproof, and made with a waterproof design. Vibration-wise, the toy offers 26 different vibration patterns. The remote requires a CR2032 battery for operation (two are included). The Svakom Elva comes with a 1 year warranty and a 10 year quality guarantee.
The Elva comes packaged in nice, fancy-looking packaging. The box is easily rectangle-shaped, and it will work well for gift-wrapping. Similar to a lot of luxury package, the vibrator itself comes packaged in a plain, black, discreet box. Outside the box is a slipcover that describes the toy. Inside the box, you’ll have a foam tray perfectly designed to hold the toys, and all of the accessories are underneath the tray. The vibrator includes the charging cable, two CR2032 batteries for the remote, the remote itself, the vibrator itself, warranty information, instruction manuals, and a faux suede drawstring storage bag.
Don’t worry so much about batteries for the vibrator itself: the Elva vibrator itself is designed for rechargeability and easy use. This bullet vibrator includes a small charging port on the opposite side to the control buttons. This bullet vibrator can just be plugged in to any standard USB port with the included cable. The vibrator includes a battery level indicator light to make it easy to never run out of power when you need it. When fully charged, the battery should last you about 2 hours of use, so it isn’t an all-day affair, but it’s long enough to work as a good tease.
However, the remote is rechargeable. Similar to the annoying LELO battery compartments, the back of the Elva remote has an inset gold panel with a large divet running down the middle of it. Turning and opening this compartment with only your fingers is a downright giant pain. I tried it with various household implements (pens, business cards, spoons, etc.), and nope. However, the divet is just about the perfect size for a CR 2032 battery to fit in (which is what the remote takes). So if you’re trying to replace the battery inside the remote, just use the new battery to open the compartment. If you just think the battery isn’t operating right or want to remove the battery in the remote, well, your best bet is two coins next to each other, but that’s led to a bit of scratching-up of the gold plating. Not my favorite battery compartment design.
Annoyed by the remote and just want to say “screw it”? Well, the vibrator can be used entirely independently of the remote. There’s a single button on the small bullet vibrator which controls the vibration modes. So if worst comes to worst, the toy can still be played with until you manage to get ahold of a new battery or get the compartment open.
Aside from using each piece solo, how well do they connect? Well, the vibrator itself has a single button on it that functions as the power and pattern-change button. The remote has three buttons: up, down, and on/off/pattern. If you want to connect the two, you just turn on the vibrator itself first by holding down the button. The vibrator will instantly start vibrating. Once it’s on, you turn on the remote by holding down its power button. Once they connect, the vibrator stops vibrating and awaits your signal from the remote. Just reverse the process to turn everything off.
As a sidenote, though, the remote DOES seem to drain battery while not in use. The CR2032 battery that I’ve barely used was entirely dead when I pulled the toy back out to use it again. I’d highly recommend that you remove the battery in-between uses, which, again, comes back to the annoyance of the battery compartment. However, it’ll save you a lot of headache when you can’t figure out why the remote won’t connect to the vibrator. It’s usually because the remote is dead.
The remote is small and designed to easily and discreetly fit into the palm of your hand. It does that pretty well, actually. It’s smaller than a lot of rocks. With my fingers curled around the remote, it becomes impossible to see the remote – making it perfect for public discretion. I can adjust the vibration levels using the up and down arrows and then curl my fingers around the remote to completely hide it. It is, however, relatively easy to drop, and I’ve dropped it a couple of times. I’d recommend keeping it in a pocket or other small, enclosed space. It gets lost pretty easily in a purse.
As-is important with all wireless toys, we need to know how well the remote and the vibrator “talk” to one another. They do a pretty decent job. The toy seems to work best when both the toy and the remote are in the same space. You get more lee-way for how close you need to be when using the toy externally or with lightweight clothing. Transmission seems to be a bit spotty at times when using it internally or with thick clothing, but a bit of extra clicking, and it seems like it will change the setting when requested.
The vibrations are relatively quiet, though. Depending on how you’re using them and how you’re sitting, they should be virtually impossible to hear in most standard areas like a public street or restaurant. If you happen to be using it externally and rest it upon a hard surface (like a chair), it definitely gets louder. However, you can be rest assured that most areas will be a-okay to play in.
The vibrations are something else you’ll want to know about. They’re not bad. They’re definitely not powerful, but they’re definitely noticeable and not too surface-feeling. After a long, long time, they might start to feel numbing, but for the 2 hour lifespan that the toy gives you, you’ll be likely to enjoy the vibrations the entire time. I don’t, however, know if these will be strong enough to get most people to orgasm – especially if you’re playing in public and the vibrator contact isn’t constant and in the perfect spot. However, they are definitely enough to work as a great tease.
If you’re the one in charge of the remote, though, expect that you’re going to be flying blind. The design of the remote doesn’t provide any feedback as to whether the function worked or not. It also doesn’t provide any feedback as to what intensity level or pattern you currently have the vibrator on. However, at the price point that the Elva is available at, this might be a necessary sacrifice to get a workable wireless vibrator. Just expect that you likely won’t know what your partner is experiencing, and you’ll probably only know that “it changed” for them when you hit the control buttons. It’ll be hard to know exactly what setting the vibrator is on.
It’s also worth noting that you can’t turn off the vibrations with the remote and then turn them back on. If you want to allow your partner to rest, you’ll have to remove the vibrator entirely or have a spot where you can repair the two (requiring touching the vibrator again) in order to turn back on the vibrations. If you’re playing with someone who wants a short break – or if you’re going to be walking down an extremely quiet area – this might be a bit of a hassle.
Like most bullet vibrators, the Elva is pretty flexible. It can be used externally, and it can be slipped inside someone as well. The cord on the outside of the bullet helps remove the toy after insertion, but as I’m unsure what the remote control connects to, you may wish to try to avoid putting too much strain on the string outside of the bullet. When it comes to using it externally, it’s possible to slip it into the panty liner of most panties in order to hold the toy in place. However, that may not offer optimal clitoral stimulation. If you’re hoping to use public panty vibrators often, you should consider doing a quick sewing job of a small pouch on any well-fitting panties to get a small “vibrator pouch” to hold the toy in the proper position. It’d be a 10 minute job, and it’d help most vibrators be much more useful.
The Svakom Elva comes equipped with 25 frequency modes and an “intelligent mode”. This is 5 distinct patterns available at 5 different power intensities. The final mode is “intelligent mode”. This mode just seems to be a variation of all of the patterns that the Elva is capable of. It seems relatively random, but it does seem to follow the same random pattern each time. I’m not say I’d call this “intelligent”, and it was slightly more annoying to me than useful, but I could see this being really useful for those who don’t have someone to hold their remote and change the settings for them. It definitely “feels” like someone who is cycling through various patterns to be a tease. For orgasmic use, it was more frustrating than anything, but if you love the idea of public play and don’t have someone to hold the remote for you, using “Intelligent” mode in public might be the perfect solution. Never have any idea what’s coming next. The mode can be set to repeat again and again.
As the bullet vibrator is designed to be waterproof, clean-up is particularly simple. Using warm water and anti-bacterial soap will clean things up nicely. You don’t have to be too cautious during clean-up due to the vibrator’s waterproof design. Make sure to give the remote a light rub-down if it touched bodily fluids, but it shouldn’t require much excess clean-up. When it comes to lubricant, you’ll want to use water-based lubricant with this silicone toy. If using it externally, you may not need lubricant. For storage, the original packaging or the drawstring bag will work fantastically.
Overall, if you want to play with an affordable wireless bullet vibrator, the Svakom Elva can be a good option for you. While it doesn’t have a lot of the frills that some wireless options do, it’s a lot more affordable. The rechargeable aspect helps it feel more like a luxury option, and the toy actually responds relatively well to wireless commands. The vibrations are strong enough to offer a good tease, and the toy is quiet enough and functional enough for pretty good public play too.
