The Bowing-Bowing wand is a rechargeable wand massager equipped with an adjustable-angle head. Two buttons, built into the handle, allow for easy and straight-forward adjustment of the 3 steady vibration intensities with patterns accessible through a few more button presses.

The head and button panel of the massager are made from silicone, while the majority of the wand is made from plastic.

The wand is over a foot long (12.4″!) and weighs less than a pound (extremely lightweight in the world of wand massagers!). It has a run time of about 2 hours off a single charge.

This wand massager is NOT WATERPROOF. There is an open charging port at the base. However, the head of the wand is water-resistant, and you can easily submerge and place the head (and only the head!) underneath water for easier cleaning.

What Makes the Bowing-Bowing a Beginner Wand Vibrator?

GITM PLAYBOOK markets the Bowing-Bowing as their wand vibrator for beginners. It has a few things that lend itself well to someone new to sex toys:

• Straight-Forward Button Design: The controls for the Bowing-Bowing couldn’t be more straightforward if they tried. There’s a power button, and there’s an intensity button. Multiple presses on the intensity button will increase (and then decrease) the intensity through 3 vibration intensities. i.e. (1, 2, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 2, 1)
• “Hidden” Patterns: If you want to use vibrator patterns, you can, but they aren’t a focus. That is, if the vibrator is on and you single-press the power button, the Bowing-Bowing will slide into the patterned modes. Each patterned mode allows for individual control of the intensity via that intensity button. This is not intuitive, and I didn’t find this out until I was reading the GITM PLAYBOOK Bowing-Bowing review instruction leaflet inside.
• Easy-Grip Handle: The wide, angled handle makes for easy understanding and control of the vibrator.
• Angle-Adjustable Head: The usable “head” of this massager stays in a straight line with the handle, or it can come down to a 90-degree angle from the handle. Not only does this make it more accessible (more on that later!), but it also means you can potentially use it for grinding and get creative with positioning.
• A Silicone Head: The part that touches you is made from silicone. The handle is plastic. These phthalate-free materials mean you don’t have to worry about bacterial buildup as long as you clean your toy thoroughly.
• Included Storage Bag: While the Bowing-Bowing vibrator is going to be a great fit if you need to be discreet, the sex toy does come with a drawstring, plain black bag that can store the vibe, the instructions, and the charging cable for easy storage.

That being said, the Bowing-Bowing‘s vibrations start at pretty powerful and go up from there, so while this has a beginner-friendly physical design, if you’re brand new to vibrators or are sensitive, you may find this massager is painfully strong. If you’ve never tried a vibrator and/or know you like lighter stimulation, go with a different clitoral toy instead.

I’ll also admit to being a little disappointed by the included instruction manual. A small piece of paper with very-basic info isn’t quite the level of instructional help I’d want to see if this was someone’s very first vibrator. It doesn’t mention how to clean the toy, how long the battery lasts, or answer any of the usual “This is my first toy, help!” questions.

GITM PLAYBOOK Bowing-Bowing Review: That Appearance Though

The construction on the Bowing-Bowing does feel surprisingly cheap. If you had told me that the wand massager was $50, I would have believed you. The vibrations themselves? Powerful. The design of the toy? Also great. However, something about this fully-plastic, visible-seamed handle, complete with giant, square-shaped hole for charging just doesn’t do the wand justice.

Neither does this color scheme. The beige head (which looks more yellow in-person), extra-thick handle, and multiple shades of white are not helping. The yellow shade looks like a smoker’s house wall. It’s a super-odd, really-not-attractive color scheme.

It’s also a pet peeve, but the Bowing-Bowing has 3 vibration intensities. I have no idea why the button, built into the vibrator itself, shows four. It’s a minor gripe, but…why?

A Seriously Accessible Wand Massager

That being said, that overly-bulky appearance does have some really awesome benefits. Namely, the extra-thick plastic handle will make for much easier handling of the vibrator by anyone with gripping concerns. Because the toy is made from a lot of lightweight plastic, this wand weighs virtually nothing compared to its competitors, making it much easier to handle if holding heavy objects leads to arm fatigue.

Even better, the adjustable head angle means that you can find an angle that feels good for your vulva while maintaining a grip on the vibrator that feels neutral on your wrist. Just take advantage of the head’s ability to change angles, and you can have a wand that’s still targeting your spots while the wand’s handle remains at a neutral angle.

There are only two buttons on the wand’s handle. Because there are fewer buttons, each button is bigger and easier to understand. For anyone who may have precise motor control concerns, these larger buttons help a lot.

So while I’m not necessarily in love with the color scheme of the wand, I do think the design choices – which I’m not fond of – actually do offer some pretty awesome benefits that are hard to find in wand massagers nowadays. Most mainstream wand massagers nowadays are built with heavier materials, a stationary head, and multiple buttons that can increase confusion and/or are harder to press with their smaller size.

The Bowing-Bowing Wand is now, officially, the top wand I’d recommend for anyone looking for a more accessible wand massager.

Let’s Talk Vibrations

Honestly, the vibrations are pretty powerful.

Like, I’m really impressed by the strength on this.

I will say that they start at moderately strong and go to pretty strong. If you’re a beginner, per GITM PLAYBOOK’s ideal customer base, and haven’t tried a vibrator before, go for a different vibrator before you jump straight into a wand massager.

This one is decently powerful – even at its lowest setting – you may find it entirely overwhelming if you don’t already know that you need some decent power to start.

For people who like stronger vibrations, you’ll likely want to warm up (or already be aroused) before you use this sex toy. Even the lowest setting is overwhelming on unaroused flesh.

The vibrations don’t reach the same top intensities as expensive, mainstream wands, but I’d say they make it to about 65% of some of the most powerful wand massagers on the market. That’s well above most standard clitoral vibrators.

The vibrations remain the same in intensity no matter how much pressure you apply. They also keep the same intensity regardless of wand massager head positioning. If you have it angled, the vibrations feel the same as if you had the wand massager’s head entirely flat.

With this reliable intensity level, you’re free to experiment with pressure (do you want more or less?) and wand head angle (do you like it at a specific angle?) without impacting the resulting sensations. It’s a good constant to give you some space to explore exactly what you want out of your vibrator.

GITM PLAYBOOK Bowing-Bowing Review: How’s the Noise?

It’s a wand massager. It’s kinda loud.

This is not a vibrator you’re going to want to use with roommates in a quiet house. The light plastic handle does nothing to soften vibrations, but the noise level isn’t grating or annoying. It’s just a pretty loud HUMMMMMMMMMM that can easily be heard in the same room. It’s also relatively easy to hear outside of a closed door – even with music in the background.

With great power often comes a decent chunk of noise. That also holds true with the Bowing-Bowing vibrator.

The Angled Tip?

Adding to the accessibility and functionality is the angled tip of the Bowing-Bowing. The head of the massager has a “press to unlock” button right at the base of the head. Press the button down, and you can adjust the angle of the wand massager’s tip. Once you get it to one of its pre-set angle slots, it “locks” into place, and it won’t move again until you press down the unlock button. If you’re familiar with gym equipment, it’s the same vibe as when you adjust the height or angle of any gym bench.

The wand goes from a default/standard “straight line” all the way to a 90-degree head angle in either direction for a full 180-degrees of adjustment. It has 7 built-in stopping points. There’s one for the default/standard “straight line” stopping point in addition to two stopping points at 90-degrees in both directions. The other 4 possible angles are spots in between the 90-degree and the “straight line” set-up, giving you a multitude of angles.

Not only is this fantastic for function and positioning, but it’s also really accessible. If your wrist prefers to hold the massager from a certain angle, you can adjust the head of the massager to keep that wrist in a neutral, comfortable position instead of using your wrist to do the work of angling.

Plus, once you put it where you want it, the wand really locks into place. Even when applying full pressure with the wand in any position I’ve thrown it in for my GITM PLAYBOOK Bowing-Bowing review, it stays exactly where I put it.

The head itself, on top of the locking joint, does have some bend to it. If you apply pressure, the yellow head will move a bit, offering a slightly flexible experience without undoing the angle you’ve placed the wand at. The yellow silicone head you see in photos will flex a bit. The metallic and white plastic underneath that yellow head does not move in the slightest.

The angled functionality is a fantastic addition. Zero complaints.

Charging and Cleaning

The product page claims the toy is IPX7 waterproof. This seems odd, considering there’s a giant hole at the base of the wand massager that functions as the charging port.

After discussing with the manufacturer, the handle can not be submerged or used near water, meaning the toy is not waterproof, nor should it be used near water. Only the head can be placed near water.

If you can ensure your after-use cleansing keeps the water only on the toy’s head, you’ll be golden. Do NOT use the toy in the shower, in the bath, or even get careless with water during clean-up. It will destroy the toy.

Keep the handle fully dry while you wash the head of the toy, avoiding getting any water flow directly on the head (it may run down the handle on accident). The silicone head can be cleaned with warm water and mild soap, making it pretty easy to keep up.

Straightforward to charge, you can simply plug the charger into the base of the handle to top up the battery. With the open charging port at the base, there’s no mystery here; just simple charging.
