UPDATE FEBRUARY 2026: This specific vaginal speculum is no longer in production – though the generic style of Cusco vaginal speculums are around if you want to grab one. This sex book review remains for anyone who wants to reference this information. This sex toy review remains as a reference. While you’re here, why not check out some additional educational info – like online submissive tasks, beginner pegging positions, saran wrap bondage, omorashi info, and enema 101 info.
The Cusco Vaginal Speculum is a vaginal speculum for exploratory or medfet use. Available in a Small, Medium, and Large size, this speculum is made from stainless steel and can be sterilized. Designed to be as comfortable as possible, this speculum is also adjustable for gradual opening during use.
When you go to use something like this, I definitely recommend doing some research. The vaginal speculum really doesn’t include any instructions about how to use it. Doing some research ahead of time online will avoid any awkward delays or uncomfortable-ness while trying to figure out how to insert and use it. Doing research will also let you know what you’re looking for and what the various parts of the anatomy are while you’re using the speculum. There also appears to be, from my research, an “optimal” time to see the most things which is the two weeks after the last menstrual period has ended.
When it comes to sizing, I definitely recommend you err on the side of smaller instead of the side of larger. If something’s smaller, you may not get the best view, but it won’t hurt uncomfortably either. And in the future, you can “upgrade” to a larger one. However, if you try to use a too large one in the first place, it’s going to be more uncomfortable than it needs to be, and it may sour the recipient on trying a different speculum again.
As far as speculums go, this one is pretty comfortable. There wasn’t any problem with the lock grabbing or pinching in any areas, and it opened up smoothly without any discomfort. The internal forceps were very smooth as well. There were no uncomfortable or scratchy edges. With a good amount of lubricant applied, the only thing that was felt was the “regular” discomfort that usually comes along with a speculum. It really feels extremely high-quality, and it seems along the same lines of the ones they’d use in a doctor’s or women’s clinic office.
As this vagina speculum is made from stainless steel, it can be sterilized and reused. Make sure to definitely use lots of water-based lubricant on the speculum before and during insertion for comfort. For storage, I recommend a plastic bag or another sealed container to keep this as clean as possible between uses. The original, non-recyclable packaging will not work for storage.
Overall, the Cusco Vaginal Speculum is a fantastic speculum to check out. Whether you want to just see more about yourself or you want to do some sort of medical sexual games with your partner, this speculum works well for allowing you to see internally as well as being as comfortable as possible for the person wearing it. Plus, it’s medical-quality and not just a cheap “toy”. So I definitely recommend it! Thanks to UberKinky for providing one of their speculums for my Cusco Vaginal Speculum review.
