UPDATE: APRIL 2020: I still can’t believe this thing is still in production, but it is. Apparently.
The Sqweel 2 oral sex simulator is a different take on the idea of a vibrator used for clitoral pleasure. The Sqweel 2 actually features multiple “tongues” that go around in a circle and provide pleasure. Easy to hold in your hand, the Sqweel 2 is about five inches long, and it runs off of 3 AAA batteries. The wheel holder itself is made from plastic while the tongue wheel is made from silicone. Available in both white and black, this is the “upgraded” version of the original Sqweel vibrator.
The packaging Sqweel 2 comes in is pretty nice. It has a cute and playful design, and the Sqweel 2 is kept pretty safely in the plastic tray inside the box. However, the box is a bit difficult/annoying to get the Sqweel 2 in and out of the box, so I don’t recommend it for storage. The instructions are also included in the box, and the instructions include little diagrams to help you understand how to use the sex toy.
The Sqweel 2 has a pretty simple design. The outer, plastic casing holds the inner, silicone tongue wheel. This wheel includes 10 little “tongues”, and when turned on, the vibrator basically spins the little tongues around and around. The little tongues have slight flexibility to them, but as the wheel stops when pressure is applied, you probably will have no reason to need the silicone tongues to be flexible.
So, what was updated with the Sqweel 2 versus the original Sqweel?? Well, LoveHoney made some updates to the Sqweel 2 to make it the release that it is. Obviously, they updated the physical design of the sex toy, and I really do like the sleeker design. The Sqweel 2 can now ‘reverse’ which way the tongues go, and it can do the reversal in all three speeds. According to the product description, this new Sqweel 2 now has 30% more power, includes a new “flicker mode”, and is quieter than the previous version. I don’t have the previous version to compare it to, so you’ll just have to settle for my description of what should be changed.
One thing that does make the Sqweel 2 unique is the fact that it can be taken apart. Just like the first Sqweel, this means that you’ll be able to switch out the “wheels” to a different type of sensation. The wheel will still travel in a circular motion, so it may not be the most unique or different of sensations, but it will allow you to easily take the Sqweel 2 apart and try a new sensation. This also allows for easy cleaning of the wheel and inner compartments. I must admit that I’m not 100% sure if the Sqweel 1 wheels (sqweelers) will work with the Sqweel 2, but it looks like they are about the same size.
The Sqweel 2 operates on three AAA batteries. Those three batteries are easily inserted through the base; the battery compartment door just slides open, and the three batteries can be inserted. It’s very simple.
Controlling the Sqweel is pretty simple. It just has two buttons near the base. It also includes a little “slider bar” which works as a lock to take the sex toy apart. The large, big button will turn on the vibrator as well as change the speeds. It has three different speeds. The smaller button to the side will change the rotation of the tongues. It can go clock-wise, counter-clock-wise, and it can flicker back and forth as well.
You do have to keep in mind that the Sqweel does make noise. It can definitely be heard in the same room, and it can possibly be heard outside of a closed door; it depends on your door. It’s a high-pitched “whine”-type noise which actually is slightly annoying during use. You get used to it, but if you need to be quiet, this is not the best sex toy to pull out.
One thing that I didn’t like as much about the Sqweel 2 is that it requires a lot of lubricant. This is because you have to lubricate all of the various tongues on the wheel. Without the lubricant, there is a bit of an uncomfortable drag, so I do recommend taking a bit of time before you start playing to make sure that you have lubricated the entire sex toy. This isn’t too difficult to do because of how the tongues go in circles, but be careful not to apply too much in one spot as the tongues DO move fast enough to end up “flinging” a bit of your lubricant (it’s a bit funny really!) If you use moderate amounts, though, it doesn’t really make too much of a mess.
Another issue, for me, was that any slight pressure onto the wheel stops it from turning. This just doesn’t work for me. Tongues have pressure. Tongues give pressure. They are muscles, and they are fully capable of doing so. I tend to work best with pressure from both human bodies and sex toys that I use, so having a vibrator that can’t apply any pressure just doesn’t work for me. It works okay for teasing, but the light touch doesn’t work for me. HOWEVER, if you are someone who really enjoys that light touch (like the fluttering of many rabbit vibrator clitoral attachments), the Sqweel 2’s lighter touch make be fantastic. Just be aware that pushing it onto anything will nearly stop the wheel.
We DID, however, love the wheel for breast play. Nipples don’t usually require too firm of a touch anyway, and the Sqweel 2 does a fantastic job of providing a feather-light touch. Plus, the skin of the nipples doesn’t seem to have as much “drag” to it as genitals do, so the wheel goes a lot better and doesn’t jam up as much. We do quite enjoy it for nipple play. It’s not QUITE as good as having another human being touch the nipples, but it still does a really good job.
The Sqweel 2 sex toy does require quite a bit of cleaning compared to other toys. This is because of how it is designed. During use, all of your bodily fluids and lubricant will get all over the wheel, so to clean it, you must take the Sqweel 2 apart and pull out the wheel, clean the wheel, and clean the inner casing. Again, the instructions show you easily how to do this, so don’t be concerned that you won’t be able to. As per the instructions, you should wash the wheel of tongues in warm, soapy water, and you should wipe inside the plastic casing with a damp cloth. Make sure both parts are dry before putting them back together.
Overall, the Sqweel 2 is definitely a unique sex toy. It’s not going to be for everyone, but it is well-made and works pretty well. If you tend to enjoy lighter, more sensitive-esque touching, the Sqweel 2 does an okay job of replicating that. It doesn’t provide too much pressure for those who enjoy that, and it also does have a bit of a high-pitched whine that may bothersome, but if soft touches sound orgasmic to you, the Sqweel 2 can provide.
