“269 Amazing Sex Tips and Tricks for Her” is a book published by Sourcebooks and is written by Anne Hooper and Phillip Hodson. The book is 148 pages long, and it inclues 269 different pages. The book is about seven inches tall and five inches wide, and the book, while softcover, is a full-cover book with lots of pictures.
The entire theme of the book is the idea of a collection of 269 different sex tips and tricks that can be used. The book is surprisingly full-color, and the book does a good job of keeping the reading interesting by putting in a lot of different colored pictures. There is a lot of white space that isn’t used, but for the most part, the book is a pleasure to look through. All of the different colors blend together nicely, and the creators did a great job making this book look very pleasing to the eye.
The book is not discreet for public use. There are a ton of pictures on the inside of the book that would make many people uncomfortable in public, so I would highly recommend reading this book at home.
The book itself is pretty basic, and it will not take you long to read through the entire book. You don’t get “269” unique sex tips in this book because, honestly, some of the sex tips are things like “and…” which links two sex tips together. I thought that was a bit cheesy, but at the same time, it would probably be pretty hard to come up with 269 different sex tips, so I can see why they did it.
The book is filled with a lot of photography. While the book is 148 pages long, I’d say that there are probably only about 100 pages of content once you include all of the full-page pictures and the white space that surrounds some of the sex tips. Each one of the pages of the book has its own theme; the tips on that page fit under the theme that was included on that page. Each one of the themes is nothing too extreme – nor can they be accessed from the table of contents.
There are a couple big, main chapters that the little themes fit into. These themes are listed in the table of contents and are very easy to access. Those themes are “Mind Joy“, “Tricks and Temptations for Him“, “Tricks to Tempt and Tantalize You”, “Turn up the Heat”, “Vibes, Lubes, and Sex Toys” and “Getting Yourself in the Mood”. All the smaller themes fit into those six different chapters.
How are the sex tips? They’re okay. They remind me a bit out of something that would be in Cosmo. Some of them really could be fun reminders of things that you and your partner could do together (that you may not have tried together quite yet), and others may be things why you wonder why they were included in this book in the first place. It really just depends on how experienced you and your partner are and if you find the sex tips in Cosmo to be that helpful. For example, here are some of the sex tips in this book:
- “Observe the seasons. Make the most of spring and autumn. These are the sexiest times of the year.”
- “A sexual flash point can be a thought: For example, the knowledge that the minute you meet someone special, you want to go to bed with him.”
- “Vary your lovemaking technique.”
- “Explore your g-spot.”
- “Recline on a bed in front of a large mirror.”
- “Enjoy, enjoy!”
Personally, if you and your partner don’t experiment much with sex toys, new positions, or sexual games, I’d say that you can certainly get some good sexual inspiration out of it. However, if you and your partner regularly like to push each other into trying new kinks (in a good way!), I’d say that you both have probably thought up most of the suggestions in this book.
