Hot Chocolate Adult Game
Hot Chocolate Adult Game

Hot Chocolate is the sexy game of romance and chocolate, and it is sold by FunWares. The game is created by Kheper games. The game includes a small gameboard, two brushes, two .25 fluid ounce chocolate markers, a die, and easy-to-follow instructions. The game’s instructions is written in multiple languages so this game is open to non-English language speakers as well.

The box is made from thin cardboard. It should, however, hold up to moderately-heavy items being placed on top of it. The game’s box is pretty small at about the size of a small book, and aside from the stomach it shows on the front of the box, the box is pretty classy-looking as well. However, due to the chocolate that this box hides, I would certainly make sure to keep this out of the reach of children as the mess they could make with the chocolate would not be pretty.

The game is intended for two players. There are only two game markers included with the game as well. You can certainly include more game makers with the game and play with more people, but you’ll probably want to make sure that you have more chocolate and brushes on hand if you plan on doing that. The game only includes two brushes and two bottles of chocolate.

The rules of the game are pretty simple. Both players start at the beginning of the game board. Rolling the dice, each player takes turns moving the set amount of spaces around the board. As you land on each space, the pictures on each space will tell you what you’re supposed to do. As the spaces don’t actually include words and the spaces are defined in the instruction manual (which is in multiple languages), this game is very open to non-English speakers. Whoever wins gets to decide what happens next as their prize.

Playing the game is pretty simple. Each one of the spots gives you something new to do. However, the spots aren’t too unique. There’s spots like “Kiss your Lover”, “Remote Some of your Clothing”, “Dance Sexy” “Spank your Lover” “Caress” Thigh” “Kiss All Over” and a couple more. You will find that the game doesn’t take too long to beat (20 minutes), and after you’ve played it once or twice, the spots on the game doesn’t seem too unique or fun to do. The replayability of this game isn’t very high as the spots seem to be a lot of the same thing. If you wanted a game to play once in awhile, though, or just when you had some chocolate you wanted to play with, this game could work okay.

The board for the board game

I was a bit disappointed to find that the chocolate was not used as often and as included as I was expecting. There’s one “type” of spot on the game board that deals with the chocolate, and that spot tells you to paint one part of your partner and then lick it off. There’s nothing specific about it. That spot shows up 9 different places on the board though. I would have loved to see something more specific about the spot that gave you more direction like to play tic-tac-toe or paint a specific body part. It works this way, but you may find that you’re running out of inspiration for places to paint.

I was a bit confused when I couldn’t find the game markers. Then I realized that the two, small included bottles of chocolate are supposed to be the game markers! I must say that I quickly ignored that advice and used coins. Why? Because I don’t know how about you, but when I end up using chocolate, some of the chocolate usually ends up, somehow, on the outside of the bottle. If you do too, the chocolate would run straight down the bottle and onto the game board. That’s certainly no fun to ruin your board with chocolate stains.

The chocolate tastes okay. It does have a bit of an aftertaste, so I wouldn’t recommend using this as your own chocolate on food. The chocolate isn’t liquidy like I thought it would be. It’s much more thick and really has to be squeezed out of the container. As each one of the bottles is pretty small, it will only last you a couple plays (depending on how much chocolate you use). The bottles state that they should last until 2014, and that they should be refridgerated after opening.

Overall, this game is okay, but I am not impressed by it. The chocolate idea is really unique, and I wish they would have incorporated it more into the spaces. More unique space options would have helped a ton as well. Right now, it’s an okay game, but there isn’t much replayability to it. If you want a good travel game or a game to play on occasion with your chocolate, this game can work though. Thanks to FunWares for providing this adult board game for my Hot Chocolate game review.
