Xtassie Aurora Vibrator Review

UPDATE March 2021: The Xtassie Aurora Vibrator is no longer in production. This vibrator review remains as a reference for those who are interested in this vibrator.

The Xtassie Aurora is a recharegable vibrator made from silicone and plastic. It’s a long vibrator at about 9 inches long and about an inch and a half at the widest diameter. The vibrator will function for at least three hours, and it comes in multiple colors with two different patterns. It also is a waterproof vibrator.

The toy sitting in the charging base

The packaging is large, but it works. It comes in a large box that has a see-through window where you can view the toy sitting inside of the box. The box is made of thin cardboard and does open easily, so I wouldn’t use it for long-term storage. Inside the box, there is a plastic tray that holds the vibrator comfortably and a little cardboard box that stores the charger. It is a cute box that will work well for gift-giving though.

The Xtassie Aurora’s design is really unique. I’m actually pretty in-love with it. I know some people are annoyed by lights, though, so keep in mind that, where those beautiful designs are in the base of the plastic on the Aurora, there will be lights that show through and change colors. It’s actually my favorite part as it looks beautiful while charging, and I honestly don’t notice it during use. Along with the lights, the base of the vibrator is all plastic while the insertable shaft is all silicone. This vibrator is pretty darn tall at 9 inches tall, and about six inches of that are insertable.

Pretty colors when it charges. Excuse the mess.

The Aurora is also rechargeable. I love the fact that it comes with a charging base. Not only does it charge, but it happily sits on its charging base to charge. While charging, it cycles through the three LED light (blue, green, red), and it shines beautifully through the plastic base. I was awed by it. It takes about three hours to charge, and you should get about three hours of use out of it. It will hold a stand-by charge for about 90 days. The instruction manual doesn’t say that you can keep it charging all of the time, but as it says “use after fully charged”, I would imagine you can’t. You can easily unplug the charger from the base to keep the vibrator stored in its upright position in the charging base though!

The shape of the rounded triangular shaft

Controlling the Aurora is really simple. There are three buttons on the base of the toy. There’s one button that turns the toy on and two buttons that control the strength of the vibrations. When you press down on the power button, it’ll switch into the other patterns. In each of the patterns, you can further control the strength of the pattern. The controls are really, really simple to use and control, and I haven’t had any issue with accidentally bumping them during use. They seem to work really well for controlling it, and as long as you remember which one is up and which one is down, you can easily control this sex toy without any issues.

I must admit that I’m not too fond of the shape of the toy for internal use. The vibrator has a rounded-triangular shape. Unfortunately, the triangle shape just seems to be too pronounced to me. It ends up being a bit uncomfortable for insertion as I’m usually used to circular items for insertion. This very-triangular shape just wasn’t very comfortable for me. I won’t be using this toy often for insertion, but if you enjoy the triangular shape, this may work out well for you.

For external use, it seems to work much better for me. There are two motors, so you can enjoy the sensations of the vibrations on both motors. One of the motors is towards the tip and the other is twoards the middle, so you’ll only really get the sensation of the tip’s motor when used externally. The vibrations are on the higher end of moderate, so orgasm will probably be possible, but it’ll be something you really have to focus on. The vibrations can be heard in the same room, but they might be a bit difficult to hear outside of a closed door. It works okay, and the toy is very easy to hold. I do wish the vibrations didn’t transfer as much to the handle as I hate the feeling of my hand vibrating, but the toy does work pretty well.

Cleaning this vibrator is simple. As it’s waterproof, you can just use warm water and antibacterial soap to clean it. For the most part, I just try to make sure that I don’t submerge it. It is compatible with water-based lubricant, and you want to clean it before and after every use. Also, the vibrator itself should be small enough to be able to be put into a condom for sterilization and easy cleaning.

Overall, I like the Xtassie Aurora. I was really surprised. I haven’t heard of the company, and I haven’t had any experience with their toys. Because of the gorgeous design, the easy controls, and the rechargeability, I must admit that I like the toy. I wish the vibrations were stronger, and that the triangular shape wasn’t so intense, but aside from that, I have no complaints. I’ll be looking into other Xtassie toys now.
