Toyfriend Starlet Vibrator Review

Toyfriend Starlet Vibrator
The vibrator in its stand

The Toyfriend Starlet is a silicone vibrator made by Toyfriend and sold by FunWares. The Starlet is about six inches long with a diameter of about an inch. The Starlet Toyfriend requires two AAA batteries, and it comes with a toy stand and the batteries that it requires to function.

The packaging for the Toyfriend Starlet is really basic, but it’s cute. It includes the Toyfriend Starlet, the batteries for the toy, and a toy stand. The outer packaging has a white theme with little rainbow of colors decorating the package. Inside, you can open up the box to get at the tray which holds the vibrator and the stand for the vibrator. As the packaging is honestly much larger than the toy itself, we won’t be keeping the packaging for storage, but I really do enjoy the packaging that it comes in.

The base of the vibrator in the stand

I really enjoy the look of the Toyfriend Starlet. It’s an adorable little pink, and it includes a full stand to help it stand up. Due to the rounded design of the battery cap, the vibrator can not stand up on its own without the stand. At the tip of the vibrator, there is an Ella-like head. The head is about the same-looking as the LELO Ella, and if you find that most g-spot toys usually hit your g-spot, the head of this vibrator should hit your g-spot as well. The tip fo the vibrator is pretty pronounced, and I’m actually fond of how long they made this toy. While it’s obvious that you’re really only supposed to insert it far enough for the tip to reach your g-spot (which, for most women, will not be the full length), the longer length of this toy makes it so you can easily grip onto the vibrator to get a good amount of leverage to actually enjoy the g-spot head.

I must admit that I was even more impressed by the Toyfriend Starlet when I saw that all of the Toyfriend toys come with little display stands. How adorable is that?! For a sex toy collector like me, it makes me want to display the toy sitting on a desk or other places where people can see them. For an average person, it makes it really easy to keep this toy by your bedside where you’ll always be able to access it. The stand does hold onto the toy and keep it upright really nicely, and I was surprised to find that the toy just slides out of the stand really nicely. There really wasn’t any fighting to get the toy out of the stand. It honestly just slides right out. It’s a one-handed process, and you don’t need to hold onto the base to get the toy to slide out either.

Using the light to show the Tickler logo on the surface

The material on this vibrator is silky smooth! If you look at pictures, it honestly looks like this vibrator is plastic, but I was surprised to find that the vibrator is pure silicone. The silicone glides against the skin (much like LELO silicone), and it is really easy to insert. There is no plushiness to the material at all, and it’s like the silicone material is just covering a harder surface underneath (which is fine with me!) On one side, there is the “Tickler” name embedded into the material of the toy which, depending on how you feel, you might feel it. I personally did not feel it during use, but I can certainly feel it with my hands. I was a bit disappointed in this logo as the logo presents some cleaning difficulties (to get into the crevices) and doesn’t make the body of the toy feel nearly as soft and silky on one side. I wish the company would have done a small logo near the base instead of having one that took up about half the length of the toy.

The batteries in the battery compartment

The controls are really basic. There’s just a button at the base of the vibrator. You push the button to control the vibrator. The vibrator does run on two AAA batteries which are included (and have a paper stopped to keep from draining during use), and to switch out batteries, it’s really easy to just unscrew the base of the vibrator to slide the batteries out. There are five different functions on this vibrator. There are two regular, steady vibrations (low and high), and there are three different patterned vibrations. To change the vibrations, you just push down on the button on the base. To turn off the vibrator, the button on the base can be pushed and held down.

The vibrations aren’t too strong, but they aren’t too weak either. They are certainly moderate in strength. They might not be enough to orgasm for all women, but some women should be able to. If you don’t require too much strength, it’ll probably be a good amount of strength for you. The downside to the vibrations is that they are a bit buzzy. They tend to decrease in strength if you push them really hard against the skin. If you tend to like a lighter touch, this may work fine for you. Along with that, while the motor is located near the base, the vibrations travel really nicely through the body of the vibrator, so you can easily feel the vibrations at the tip too.

The shape of the head

It works surprisingly well! I like my Toyfriend Starlet. While it doesn’t hit my g-spot, that’s nothing new for me. I require extreme curves to hit my g-spot. However, it hits at the same place as the average g-spot toy does which means that, if most g-spot toys work for you, you should find that this vibrator will work just as well! I love how easy the toy is to insert (absolutely love it!), and I love how easy it is to control as well. The only word of caution I have is for those that tend to get toys caught on their pubic bone. Because this toy has a pretty drastic curve from the tip to the shaft, it’s pretty easy to “catch” this toy. For me, it isn’t painful, and I just reposition, but if you really hate that sensation, it might be something to consider when purchasing or considering to purchase the Toyfriend Starlet.

I actually was surprised to find that this Toyfriend is made from silicone instead of plastic. For some reason, the pictures of the Toyfriend Starlet almost always make it look like the Toyfriend is made of plastic. Yes, it is made of silicone, and honestly, I’m impressed enough with the Toyfriend Starlet to want to branch off and try some of the other Toyfriend sex toys.

Cleaning this item is pretty easy as it’s waterproof and made of silicone. You just have to use warm water and antibacterial soap to fully clean this little Starlet. It’s only compatible with water-based lubricant as silicone-based lubricant could harm the toy’s material. Along with that, for storage, you really don’t have to worry too much as the material does not pick up lint or hair. If you’d like (which is what I’m doing), you can also use the little display stand that comes with the vibrator in order to store it upright next to your bed. I’m really in love with the stand.

Overall, I like the Toyfriend Starlet. It’s not the most advanced vibrator nor the most extreme vibrator that I’ve ever tried, but I really enjoy the soft design and the stand that it comes with. I was a bit disappointed by the lettering on the side of the vibrator, but insertion went well, and it was certainly pleasurable. I would certainly think about the design of this vibrator if you tend to get toys caught on your pubic bone though, but if you really have loved most average g-spot toys, this is certainly a step up and pretty enjoyable.
