Evolved Birthstones Vibrator Review

Evolved Birthstones Vibrator
The Birthstones vibrator in its packaging

UPDATE APRIL 2020: The Evolved Birthstones vibrators are no longer in production. This review remains as a reference for those who need that information.

The Evolved Birthstones vibrator is a small, battery-operated vibrator made by Evolved. It comes in 12 different colors. The vibrator is made of plastic and takes one AAA battery. It is a small, discreet size, and it is four inches long with a diameter of about a half inch.

The packaging for the Evolved Birthstones vibrator is really cute. It comes in a very-small box that displays the name of the toy. It’s just a little plastic box, but it’s a cute plastic box that is completely see-through and shows off the toy really well. The toy can be stored in the box if you want, but as the toy is plastic and has no storage concerns, there really is no reason to need to keep the toy inside of the box.

The design behind these small, discreet vibrators is that each one represents a different birthstone. There are twelve different vibrators, and you can pick out the vibrator that matches your month or your favorite color. For each vibrator, the plastic stripe around the base will change, and there will be a different gem included at the base as well.

This discreet vibrator certainly is discreet! You’re going to be surprised when you receive this little guy in the mail! It’s slightly larger than your average pen in diameter, and it’s only about half of the size. It’s really about the same size as my pointer finger! The body of the vibrator is white plastic, and there’s a line of plastic color towards the base (which depends on which “month” you received. There is also a gem at the base of the vibrator. The gem is just a little plastic gem, and it seems securely glued in. Despite picking at it, I can’t get the gem to come out, so it seems like it will last awhile. At the same time, the gem does “stand out” past the actual base of the vibrator, so the gem makes it impossible for the vibrator stand-up. The vibrator must be laid on its side.

The Evolved Birthstones vibrator is controlled by one single AAA battery. To insert the battery, you just have to twist off the base of the toy and slip the battery inside. Once you’ve done that, you just twist the very bottom of the base, and the vibrations will turn on and off. It’s a twist-dial with just one level of vibration. The vibration dial can be a bit difficult to turn (in comparison with other vibrators), but at the same time, it’s not going to accidentally turn itself off while you’re in the middle of using it, so it evens out.

The vibrations are not the strongest, but they aren’t too weak either. I would say that they’re on the side of “moderate” in comparison to some other toys. The vibrations can certainly be heard in the same room, but it’d be difficult to hear them outside of a closed door. The vibrations are on the side of “buzzy”, but the vibrations don’t get much weaker when pressure is applied which is a great thing.

During use, it tends to work best for those who prefer softer vibrations or don’t need vibrations that are as rumbly. The vibrations tend to be surface vibrations which is not enough for orgasm unless you tend to like the softer vibrations. It does, however, work as a decent tease, and it’s very easy to hide, travel-with, and use. The plastic body of the vibrator makes it really easy for the vibrations to travel through the body of the toy, and having the stripe around the base makes it easier to hold during use. This toy really isn’t for insertion, but it can be used externally. The size is about the perfect size for a clitoral toy as it’s really small and fits comfortably against your body. Because of the plastic material, you really don’t need to use lubricant with this toy to get it to glide easily over your skin.

For cleaning, as long as you tightly close the battery compartment, this vibrator is water-proof. That makes it very easy to clean because you don’t have to worry as much about water harming the toy. It’s compatible with all types of lubricant, and you should use warm water and antibacterial soap to clean it. It will easily slip into a condom if you need to use it with multiple partners, and as it’s plastic and doesn’t pick up any lint or fuzz, you can store it anywhere you’d like including your underwear drawer or other fun places.

Overall, the Birthstones vibrator works well if you need a small, discreet vibrator or love the design of it, but you shouldn’t expect it to be a powerhouse. It works fine if you need an affordable option for a toy or want to give something cute to someone, but it does have a couple issues that I’d love to see resolved. Overall, though, it’s a cute little toy, and it’s worth checking into.
