Tantus O2 Adam Dildo Review

Tantus O2 Adam
The packaging for the Adam

UPDATE APRIL 2024: Tantus no longer makes the O2 Adam – but they still make the “Adam” style itself in a Soft variation. This sex toy review remains as a reference. The Tantus Adam O2 is a real-feel dildo made by Tantus. The dildo is seven inches long with a diameter of about an inch and a half throughout the shaft. The dildo is made from pure silicone, and it features a harness-compatible base. It’s completely body-safe, and it’s safe for both anal and vaginal use.

The packaging for the Tantus Adam O2 was a bit odd to me. I’m used to their large, see-through packaging that looks really classy, but I’d never seen this box before. It was about twice the regular size of a Tantus box, and the dildo was sitting diagonally instead of up and down like it normally sits. This box is made from plastic, and the Adam sits inside a plastic tray that is inside the plastic box. This is suitable for storage since it keeps the dildo from picking up any extra lint or things like that.

Y’know what, I’m in love with the Tantus O2 Adam dildo. Just in love. The way that Tantus has modified their old O2’s is just amazing. The older ones (like the Niagara/Revolution) were nice dildos, but I wasn’t amazed. Now I am. While it still doesn’t feel amazingly life-like, it’s one of the closest dildos I have to being realistic. It’s actually neat how Tantus’s O2 products work. They basically have a very firm inner core, and the outer layers of the dildo are squishy and move around slightly. (Like a real penis) With the Adam, the squishyness is minimal near the top of the dildo, but on the bottom (with the curve), the dildo is a lot more squishy. The head of the dildo is a slick surface while the shaft of the dildo is much more matte. The slick surface of the head makes it easier to insert, but you do want to have this dildo properly lubricated as the matte shaft eats lubrication pretty quickly.

I don’t know what, exactly, caused it, but I will say that I found it a bit odd that my Tantus Adam does end up having a slight chemical scent to it. It was fixed really easily after its first wash, but it did have that chemical scent when I took it out of the package. Since I’ve never had a Tantus silicone toy that has ever had any scent, I assume it’s just a lasting scent that got there from something else, and since I didn’t see any blemishes on the surface of the toy or anything else to call the silicone into question, I just left it be.

I’m not sure if I feel like the size is realistic. Of course, it could be my limited scope of guys and such, but this penis is definitely a bit thicker than your average penis. At the tip, it’s about an inch and a half in diameter. At the base, it gets closer to about an inch and a half in diameter. While this is definitely okay if you like your girth, I’d say that the size is a bit thick to really consider this a “realistic” penis. That’s not to say that it isn’t good.

I actually enjoyed using this dildo. I’m usually not much for dildos as they don’t vibrate and aren’t as pleasurable for me, but Adam (as long as he’s properly lubricated and you’re warmed up) is a good choice. The dildo has a pretty strong g-spot curve. The top part of the shaft is pretty firm, so the dildo doesn’t move around too much during use (so you can get proper pressure), but according to the boyfriend, it is more flexible with the average penis. (This resulted in a hilarious conversation when he told me “I don’t know” when I asked if it was. I asked him if he was unfamiliar with his penis after masturbating for the past ten years. We did, however, conclude that it’s more flexible.)

Because of the size, though, you want to make sure that you’re warmed up before you start inserting Adam. Adam does have a large diameter, and as such, you do need to be warmed up before you start to play with Adam. Also, please make sure to slather Adam in water-based lubricant. The synthetic material (silicone) of the dildo does eat up lubricant really easily, and unless you enjoy a dildo feeling uncomfortable due to no lubrication, I recommend you make sure the dildo has plenty of lubricant before inserting. Adam is pleasurable, but only if it isn’t producing uncomfortable drag on your skin.

Adam also has a harness-compatible base. I normally find Vixen Creations dildos to be better for harness use, but I’m surprised that Tantus seems to have started to up-their-ante on their bases. This base is thick but not too thick. It rests comfortably in a harness, and it seems to support the dildo really nicely. It doesn’t hold it ram-rod straight, but for the most part, the dildo stays curved upright. For penetration, it’s long enough to be used in a harness, but it is a bit thick, so make sure your receiver is prepared for it.

Enjoy practicing oral sex? The Adam O2 has you covered. The dildo has no taste to it, and it’s realistic enough to be able to practice giving a blowjob. It has absolutely no taste at all, so while it won’t taste “human”, it also doesn’t taste like chemicals either, so if you have a fetish for giving blowjobs, it works really well. For deep throating, it doesn’t “squish” down like a regular penis does, but it’s also not horrible unrealistic either. It is a lot more difficult to deep throat though because it doesn’t have the slight squishiness that a human’s penis would.

Cleaning up the Adam O2 is a breeze too. Since it’s silicone, you just need to use warm water and antibacterial soap. The Tantus Adam O2 can also be boiled for sterilization or sterilized in bleach. It’s also top-shelf-of-the-dishwasher compatible, so it’s pretty easy to clean. It’s only compatible with water-based lubricant, though, so be careful about that. I like to store mine in the original packaging as this dildo DOES pick up a lint of lint and hair; it even managed to pick up a ridiculous amount of specs of hair and such just sitting on my desk.

I love my Tantus Adam O2. I really do. It’s firm enough to hit the g-spot yet soft enough to insert. It feels relatively realistic, and it feels velvety to the touch. The base is strong enough to hold up to harness use, and of course, it has no taste if you want to use it for oral use. If it was just a bit slimmer in the diameter, this would be my all-time favorite dildo. Until then, I’m going to keep trying O2 dildos until I find my favorite size.
