The Chrome Slave Bracelets are two little BDSM cuffs sold at SixtyNineSecrets sex toys. The bracelets come in both Small/Medium and Medium/Large. We own the Small/Medium. The bracelets, which come two to a set, are made from chrome-plated steel. Each cuff includes an O-ring that allows for attachment to external bondage points. Each cuff is opened by the magnetic key that is included.
The bracelets come in a cute storage pouch for storage. It’s a velvet pouch with a drawstring closure that allows your cuffs to stay in one spot. It doesn’t have a divider inside, so it won’t keep the cuffs from hitting each other, though. This may be an issue if you notice your cuffs starting to cuff on the outside, but we haven’t seen any problems. Included in the packaging is also the key to open the cuffs. The key is included in a tiny, resealable baggie. It’s imperative that it stays with the set since it’s a pain to open the cuffs without the key.
How do the cuffs open? It’s actually really neat. There’s a little metal piece that holds the two ends of each cuff together. That metal piece slips into holes in the cuff and snaps into place by a magnet that pulls it into place. This keeps the cuffs from opening back up. You “unlock” the cuffs by using a small, little metal “key” that pushes that metal piece out from the magnet and allows you to pull it out and “unlock” the cuffs to open them. The little pieces are actually really tiny. If you lose one, it’ll pretty much be impossible to keep the cuffs locked, so I highly recommend you keep the cuffs locked when not in use. If you lose the key, you can use a tiny screwdriver or a strong magnet to unlock the cuffs. It’s not as convenient, but it will work.
I do enjoy the new way of locking the steel cuffs though. It doesn’t require me attempting to track down a lock and key, and as long as I keep the key in the little storage pouch with the cuffs, everything is ready to go anytime I pull out the cuffs. It’s less stuff to fiddle with, and it gives the cuffs a much more “sleek” look.
The cuffs can end up being cold. Straight off the mail truck, the cuffs were downright frigid. When left at room temperature, the cuffs can be slightly cold than your body heat, so unless you enjoy freezing your sub’s wrists, I recommend you warm them in your hands before placing them on your partner. It seems to have something to do with the fact that these are made with steel, so they end up staying pretty cold a majority of the time. Body heat warms them up within five minutes though.
The cuffs hold well. I was afraid that the small pieces would cause the cuffs to just break open when yanked on, but it wasn’t the case. We ended up putting quite a bit of force into it, and the cuffs stay closed really nicely. The bracelets don’t pinch the skin either, so the boyfriend ended up going to sleep in them a couple times. They stay really comfortably up to the skin, and if they are cold when put on, they do warm up pretty quickly.
The biggest concern I should talk about is the size of the bracelets. We have the small/medium cuffs. These are definitely on the small side. The boyfriend has some of the smallest wrists out there that I’ve ever seen. Most cuffs usually need to be on the smaller sizes in order to fit him. These cuffs have a diameter of a little over two inches, and they do fit on his wrists nicely. If you just assume you are a medium wrist, make sure to measure yourself or you may find yourself with cuffs that don’t fit. The cuffs we have look more like little cock rings than wrist cuffs; sometimes it amazes me how small the boyfriend’s body is.
The bracelets include o-rings on each bracelet that will allow you to hook the cuffs to external bondage points like a bedpost. The o-rings do make little jingly sounds when the wrists are moved, and the sounds are not discreet. If you are attempting to hide this from someone, keep that in mind. If you want to masturbate or do something physical with your hands, the sound will also be pretty annoying after awhile. However, something we discovered is that the o-rings will screw off. It was completely by accident. The boyfriend was sleeping, and the natural movements form sleep unscrewed one of his o-rings onto the floor. It’s quite easy to unscrew the o-rings while wearing the bracelets, so if you have someone attached to a bondage point, this is important to remember. However, in case of an emergency, that could end up being a lifesaver, and we didn’t have any problems with it unscrewing during kinky use.
To clean these, you really just need to use warm water and wipe them down. You could use soap if they have a big mess. Make sure to not lose the little pieces while cleaning it. For storage, I keep mine in the purple storage bag that the cuffs came in.
Do I like them? Yes. I like them a lot since they lend themselves well to having cuffs that the boyfriend can’t remove by himself. The boyfriend likes them since he enjoys the feel of metal, inescapable bondage. If you want to connect them together, you’ll need to buy a double-ended clip, but aside from that, they’re great cuffs. I wish the set would have come with some extra latching pieces since I’m a bit worried about losing these, but regardless, the cuffs are great quality, easy to put on, and hold tightly for your bondage needs.
