Black Drip Candles Review

Black Drip Candles
The candle itself at 4 inches tall

The Black Drip Candle is a drip candle that was made for the sole purpose of being dripped onto your partner which I received from Passion Adult Shopping. It’s a four-inch tall candle, and if you look at the pictures, you can see that the candle manufacturer chose to make a little “wall” of wax along the outside of the candle that would keep the melted wax inside the candle. This means that this candle can just sit where you’d like and burn until you’d like to use it.

Basically, a candle like this is meant to be burned, let the wax melt enough until it’s about a puddle that you can use, then you blow out the candle, wait a couple of seconds, then pour the wax onto your partner from a high-up distance from their skin. The longer you let the candle sit after you blow it out, the cooler the wax will get. I found that this candle’s wax actually turns back into a solid pretty darn quick though. I was amazed. I didn’t let it burn long enough to amass a large pool of wax – only about five minutes and then after I blew it out, within ten seconds, the wax would have become a solid again. It was impressive honestly.

The candle wax burns down pretty easily. It was enough liquid for one pour within about five minutes of burning. I’m sure if you let it burn longer, you’ll get a lot bigger puddle than I did. My puddle of wax was really only enough for a couple drips onto on my submissive. He complains the wax is extremely hot, but honestly, he’s just not a fan of heat. When I tried it on myself, it didn’t hurt really. A slight pain when it first went on, but nothing really that painful. More sensual pain than physical pain. If you want to cool the wax more than it already is, hold it up higher to drip or just let it sit after it’s blown out for a longer period of time.

How much wax is missing after one ten minute play session. This should last you lots and lots of play times.

The wax is black, and it burns black as well. When you drip this onto your partner, you’re going to have little puddles of black wax. It’s actually really neat to see the little strips of black on your partner. It doesn’t stain the skin at all, and I’ve left it out to burn on our furniture, and the wax doesn’t seem to even stain furniture, so it’s pretty safe. Make sure to place it on a hard surface though less you tip it over and start a giant fire. The wax is easy to remove too. You can just peel it off of the skin with your fingers or I know a lot of people enjoy using the side of an old credit card to just slide it along the skin and take the wax off.

When it comes to safety, I recommend keeping the candle somewhere where it won’t get tipped over, only have it lit if it’s in sight, and have water nearby in case you do start a small fire. All the regular candle basics, but this one is a little more dangerous since it isn’t encased in a nice glass jar or anything. The wick is supposed to be kept at about 1/2 inch in length for optimal burning, so trim it down if need be. I also recommend against using the wax on body parts that have hair because the hair make get pulled out with the wax or it will just make the wax harder to remove. Up to personal preference if you want to. My submissive and I make sure the candle is completely cool by leaving it out overnight after we’re done using it, then we throw it into a plastic baggie and put it with the rest of the BDSM toys. However, it doesn’t scream “sex toy” so you could keep it out in plain sight just as a decoration.

So did I like it? Yes. It’s a good candle that is made naturally so it doesn’t have the ingredients that would normally burn a person’s skin like in store-bought candles. It’s a great candle, and my partner’s fear of heat has nothing to do with the candle itself. I’d highly recommend it if you want to try some sensual wax play.
