Moonlight Serenade Kit Review

The Moonlight Serenade Kit: A Fun Factory Bootie, Please Gel Lubricant, and a Screaming O Cock Ring.

UPDATE MAY 2023: This sex toy kit is no longer in production. This review remains for anyone who is curious about it. While you’re here, why not check out some additional educational info – like online submissive tasks, beginner pegging positions, saran wrap bondage, and enema 101 info.

I’ve heard tons of amazing things about the Bootie from lots of sex bloggers, so when Good Vibrations offered up this amazing little kit for review, I knew I really wanted to have it.

The Moonlight Serenade Kit includes three things: The FunFactory Bootie anal plug, a 2 ounce bottle of Please Gel Lubricant (Good Vibrations Brand), and a Screaming O Vibrating Cock Ring. The set itself doesn’t come in anything fancy – they are just sold as a package. During this review, I’ll go product-by-product to let you know about each individual toy.

The FunFactory Bootie is the shining star of this kit. It’s the main focus of the kit and rightfully so. The Bootie is made from high-quality silicone and is about three inches long. It has a diameter of an inch, and it’s really perfect for the beginner or somewhat-intermediate user of anal toys. It isn’t huge, and it’s amazingly comfortable when worn. The Bootie includes a 3 inch-long base that stretches out vertical-wise to rest between the butt cheeks. On the tip of the Bootie, the silicone also curves a bit to help hit the prostate and just feel more comfortable during use. The silicone is firm, but it does allow for some bending and movement to help the Bootie feel more pleasurable.

The Bootie is just a regular anal plug. It doesn’t vibrate or anything of the sort. That doesn’t mean you should dismiss it as a bad plug. In fact, the submissive now agrees that this is his favorite plug. He says it’s amazingly comfortable and feels completely perfect while still feeling pretty full from the plug as well. He ended up wearing this to sleep for the entire night and had no problem with it falling out or becoming uncomfortable.

He then used it again the next day and reports that it really does feel amazingly pleasurable compared to some of the other plugs we’ve used. The silicone makes it very comfortable makes it move with your body while the curve of the silicone can actually stroke the prostate and make the person wearing it feel very full.

However, if you are used to much larger toys, you may find the size to be a little too small for your preferences. As he hasn’t taken much in large girth before, this worked perfectly for him.

One of the nicer things about the Bootie is how comfortable it is to wear. Besides being pleasurable, the base fits perfectly between most people’s cheeks and makes it really comfortable for long-term wear. The plug stays in great as well and doesn’t come out just from wearing it. This is something that he could, and most people could, easily wear throughout an entire day in public without ever experiencing any sort of pain from wearing it. Another neat thing about the Bootie is that it doesn’t have any moving or electrical parts so that does make the Bootie waterproof.

The Bootie works great overall, and it is sold at a great price. I’d link you to the Bootie page, but it’s actually more expensive to buy the Bootie by itself than with the kit, for your own good, I won’t link you. The Bootie is amazing for those who are just beginning to experiment with anal pleasure, but it may leave something to be desired for short-term play in advanced users. However, despite your anal experience, the Bootie will never stop being an amazing anal plug for long-term wear – it’s just so comfortable!

The next part of the Moonlight Serenade Kit, the Screaming O Cock Ring, is a one-time use cock ring. It comes in a single-use package for safety reasons and includes instructions for use on the back of the package. The ring’s package says it is made from a version of silicone but it’s weirdly stretchy for silicone. The bullet is attached to the ring by the silicone material, but it is possible to pull out the bullet. This erection enhancer includes little bulges around the ring itself to enhance his pleasure when wearing it.

The ring has pretty decent vibrations as well. There’s a little switch that gets flipped on the bullet to make the ring vibrate. The vibrations are pretty intense for a cock ring, and I’d definitely rate them as a “high”. It is only single-speed vibrations though, and we found that the vibrations only lasted about twenty minutes before the batteries died. The vibrations were strong enough that both he and I could feel them, but they definitely impacted him more than they did me. They also weren’t strong enough to make him numb – just strong enough to be pleasurable.

The ring stretches out pretty nicely – it should fit a wide variety of different sizes, and it went on fine for ours. It didn’t catch in any of the hair, and it just stayed on very firmly to enhance his erection. During intercourse, I noticed the vibrations a bit, but for the most part, it feels like something he enjoyed much more than I did. We attempted a few different positions and Missionary seemed to work best for using this cock ring.

For the most part, the cock ring is a nice purchase. While you aren’t supposed to reuse it, I think that, if it’s with the same person and you clean it with soap and water, there shouldn’t be a big problem with using it two or three times. Of course, the battery only lasts for twenty minutes, so I can’t imagine there would be much use for more than two or three times.

The Please Gel Lubricant comes in a two ounce bottle, so don’t be confused by the picture on the GoodVibes site. I’m a little disappointed in their picture since it shows a little sample package, but you actually are getting an entire bottle. I’m sure seeing an entire bottle would help change people’s minds about the kit. Either way, the Please Gel is a water-based lubricant that is glycerin-free and body-safe. The ingredients include: Deionized Water, Propylene Glycol, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Benzoate, Lactic Acid, Disodium EDTA, Imidazolidinyl Urea. Nothing in the ingredients is something that many women would be allergic to, so it’s safe for most women.

Since the Bootie and the Screaming O ring are both silicone toys, it only makes sense that the kit would include water-based lubricant. The lubricant lasts alright, but it’s definitely not a silicone lubricant. It does dry up pretty easily, but it is safe with silicone toys which is definitely a defining feature. Getting it out of the bottle can be a little difficult since it does have a thicker consistency. I found that, once my hand was covered in water-based lubricant, it became difficult to squeeze the bottle and get more out. The bottle has a pop-cap bottle cap, and the good news is that the bottle doesn’t leak.

The lubricant didn’t get sticky during use, but after not having been reapplied, it did get sticky very quickly. This is not a lubricant that will just seemingly be absorbed into the skin – this is definitely something that needs to be washed off. However, since it is a water-based lubricant, washing it off isn’t difficult at all. Using water will easily make this lubricant wash off without a problem. This doesn’t appear to stain sheets either – it looks like it will wash off of most clothing and sheets without incident.

Overall, not a bad water-based lubricant, but I can’t say this is one of the best that I’ve used. For the price, it works great, and since it comes with the kit, it will work for what you need it to do, but it isn’t amazingly stunning. It works much better for vaginal use than anal use since anal use seems to absorb the lubricant much more quickly and make reapplication times closer together.

So how does this kit work together? Pretty nicely. I can easily see this being a kit that a couple could pull out on date night and play with all of the pieces. Or this could be used alone for masturbation.

We found that we mostly use the parts in different places. We use the water-based lubricant and the cock ring for sex, and we used the Bootie as foreplay before we had the sex. All of the pieces mix together to make a fun night, and since the Bootie is reusable and the water-based lubricant will last for quite a few sessions, this is a kit that will continue to give and give – at an amazing price.

So what safety should you keep in mind? Well the battery doesn’t last long enough, but a cock ring should never be worn for more than an hour. Silicone-lubricants aren’t compatible with the cock ring or the Bootie in this set – water-based is the way to go. To clean the cock ring, warm water and soap will work, but be aware that it was only meant to be one-use. The Bootie was meant for years and years of play, so warm water and antibacterial soap will clean it up just fine, but to sterilize it to share with partners or to help get rid of the scent, you can put it in boiling water for three minutes.

For the price that this is being offered for, you’d be silly not to take it. This kit will make a great night-in for nights and nights to come. It includes a great plug that works well for beginners, lubricant for your anal and vaginal use, and a cock ring for couples or solo use that includes strong vibrations. The Bootie really is the shining star of this kit, and I honestly would purchase this kit at this great price for the Bootie alone. This sex toy store carries this anal sex toy kit, so go purchase the Moonlight Serenade Kit.
