Fleshlight Blade Review
Fleshlight Blade without the lid

UPDATE: APRIL 2020: The Fleshlight Blade is no-longer in production. This Fleshlight review remains as a reference for the Fleshlight Blade. Check out Should I Buy a Fleshlight? for other Fleshlight options instead.

The Fleshlight Blade is a unique male masturbation sleeve. Made of plastic and Superskin, this male masturbation sleeve is pink in color and includes the “vagina” orifice. Made with the “Blade” texture and including a free, water-based, sample-size lubricant, the Fleshlight Blade is about eight and a half inches tall and features flexible, choose-your-grip features to allow you the perfect fit for your preferences.

The packaging for the Fleshlight Blade is not like usual Fleshlight packaging. Most Fleshlights tend to come in those tins, but the Blade just comes in a regular cardboard box. It’s not nearly as pretty, but it does transport the Fleshlight to you. There isn’t much point in keeping the packaging after you open it since the Fleshlight Blade sex toy has its own storage “case” built-in. The packaging actually isn’t all that explicit, though, aside from a picture of the outer vaginal orifice of the Fleshlight. This is a nice change.

The Fleshlight Blade separates itself from your usual Fleshlight in quite a few ways. So if you’ve used a Fleshlight in the past and are expecting a same, but smaller, experience, think again. For one, the Fleshlight Blade’s case is shaped in a tear-drop shape instead of the usual circle shape. For another, the case is NOT HARD PLASTIC. Instead, it’s made of a softer plastic that actually squishes and can be easily squeezed during use to control the pressure inside the chamber. Along with that, the Fleshlight Blade is about four inches shorter than your traditional Fleshlight, so it’s much smaller.

All of these things mix together to make a very unique Fleshlight experience. The Fleshlight Blade has all of the “traditional” Fleshlight pieces, but it doesn’t have any of the usual culprits that you’re used to. For example, the Fleshlight Blade’s case is actually pretty amazing. Since you’re able to squeeze and grip the case as tightly or as loosely as you want, you can control the suction inside the masturbator very well. There’s a certain spot on the Fleshlight Blade that works best to squeeze (you’ll figure it out when you get it), but that area is directly the area where your penis is at, and for that reason, once you really start to get into it, the boyfriend says like it really feels like you can directly control just how tightly and how loosely you want to grip with the masturbator.

Unlike the plastic material of the original Fleshlight masturbators, the material on the Fleshlight Blade is actually much easier to grip. There’s a lot of ridges along the handle, and while it still gets slick with extra lubricant and your hand may slip off, the ridges actually do help it grip more easily than regular Fleshlights. Plus, the material of the Fleshlight Blade is more squishy, so it does make it slightly easier to hold.

The smaller length of the Fleshlight Blade makes it easier to use, too. The other Fleshlight models sometimes ended up being two-handed toys because of the length and the heft. The Blade Fleshlight can be a one-handed toy, but it does take a bit more strength to use it one-handed because you also have to tighten for the suction and pressure while using it (unlike the regular Fleshlights which just require an up and down motion). So if you tend to have wrist problems or can’t grasp larger objects tightly without slight pain in your hand, you may not be able to use the Fleshlight Blade to its fullest potential.

The texture of the Fleshlight Blade vagina is the “Blade” texture. This texture is basically a pretty basic texture; it’s mostly just made up of a bunch of intense ridges inside the masturbation sleeve. It’s pretty much like a “Super Ribbed” texture from the full-size line except the “Blade” texture has areas of various tightness and looseness to go with it, so along with the ridging, there’s areas that are subtly tighter and subtly looser.

Something to note about this is that it’s PRETTY darned loud! It depends on how you use it, but the Fleshlight Blade does tend to make a squeaky noise during use. It has quite a bit of pressure, and with this in mind, it can lead to some noises while using it – especially when lubricant is involved. You definitely want to take care to use this when no one else can hear you as, just like the original Fleshlights, this isn’t the most discreet male sex toy out there.

The Fleshlight Blade is a good Fleshlight. According to the partner, the sensation is really nice, and he’s quite fond of it. He really likes how it only has to be used one-handed. He wishes it had the “suction cap” to adjust at the end for different powers of suction, but he loves the design otherwise. He easily says it’s enough for orgasm, and he likes how the smaller case means that the Fleshlight sleeve feels tighter too.
The Fleshlight Blade, he notices, does tend to make a bit more of a mess depending on how you use it. If you use it with the orifice pointing towards you (such as laying down), he says it isn’t as bad. If you want to use it with the orifice pointing somewhat up (such as in doggy-style), the Fleshlight doesn’t tend to stay as “non-messy”. Depending how much lube you have in it and how long you’ve been going, we’ve seen a bit of it leaking out. This isn’t a huge deal for us, but if you’re using it on ultra-expensive furniture, just make sure to keep a towel (Or a Liberator Throe!! Love those!) down so you don’t make a mess on your furniture.

He also points out that it’s pretty simple to control the pressure inside the chamber for the Fleshlight Blade. As long as he has his hands positioned in the right area, the Fleshlight Blade squishes together pretty simply. It’s not as easy as using a non-cased masturbation sleeve like one made of jelly, but it certainly allows for more pressure than a regular Fleshlight does. You can definitely feel the change in pressure on the inside, but it’s not as intense as other types of masturbation sleeves, but even that small ability to adjust makes a difference.

The Fleshlight Blade does have the cap that sits on top of the Blade to cover up the masturbation sleeve of the sex toy when not in use. This cap just pops on top instead of screwing on, and it’s really simple to deal with. To protect the sleeve from hair and fuzz, just make sure to keep this cap on when not in use. For actual cleaning, the sleeve of the masturbation comes out, and you need to cleanse it with really hot water. It can’t be cleaned with any soap, so keep this in mind. The case itself should be washed down as well, and make sure to let your Fleshlight sleeve dry before placing it back in the case. This male masturbation sleeve is only compatible with water-based lubricants, so also keep that in mind; it shouldn’t be used with silicone-based or oil-based lubricants. As for how to store it, the base (not the lid side) of the Fleshlight Blade does allow it to stand upright, but it does teeter a little bit when stored that way.

Overall, the Fleshlight Blade is a unique twist on the usual Fleshlight masturbation sleeve. It has a really pleasurable inner texture, and it’s much easier to use than most traditional Fleshlights. The case can be squeezed slightly to make more intense pressure in areas. Be aware that the Fleshlight Blade tends to be a bit louder and make more of a mess than your average Fleshlight, though, but aside from that, it’s an amazing male masturbation sleeve.
