“Touch Me There!” is a how-to book to your body’s orgasmic hot-spots written by Yvonne K. Fulbright, published by Hunter House, and sold by FunWares sex toys. The book is a softcover book, and contrary to the fun, playful appearance on the cover, the book is fully black-and-white text on the inside with 222 pages divided into 14 chapters. The language and writing can take a bit to read, and this book took me, a fast reader, about four hours to get through, so it’s definitely a lengthy read.
This book does contain a lot of good information if you can read through the entire book. It’s definitely a length book, and the book isn’t too detailed, but at the same time, since it covers so much information, you may find yourself overwhelmed or getting a bit bored. You learn about the hot spots in perspective, her must-know hot spot, her vaginal hot-spots, her undiscovered hot-spots, his hot-spots, his geyser-producing g-spot, his don’t-forget-to-detonate spot, the Play-with-me spots, the mind-blowing spots, the all-over spots, the naughty spots, the melting spots, sex toys for fun and pleasure, and sex positions for maximum hot-spot action. Like I said, that’s a lot of different information to take in.
Sometimes while reading through this book, I feel like there really wasn’t a point in reading the book. Yes, there’s a lot of great information about the sexual spots, but at the same time, the book lists almost every part of the body as a “hot spot”. The wrist, the feet, the thighs, the knees, the abdomen, the arms, the collarbone, the shoulders, the shins, the calves, and many more. Is there really such a thing as a “hot spot” when everything is a “hot spot”?
However, I think the biggest aspect of this book that meant that I’m probably going to re-read it is that I just felt like the book didn’t keep my attention. There’s a lot of information, but I feel like the writing is a bit dry, so I didn’t usually find myself too interesting in the information. There is a lot of good information though.
Part of my boredom may be because this book does follow a lot of the new-age type of theories to pleasure. The author talks about spirituality and sexuality for most of the book, and it seems to be a lot of how the information is related to the reader. The book talks a lot about Tantra, Accupunction, Reflexology, and Yoga as ways to improve your sex life. Personally, I’m not much for the new-age stuff, but the book does do a good job of giving exercises that use and explain the new-age stuff well for you and your partner to try out. If you and your partner want to try new-age ways to improve your sex life, this book definitely provides the information you need to know.
On a personal note, I did find myself a bit annoyed by all of the “spot” names though. Not everything will be erogenous, and with the addition of the a-spot, f-spot u-spot, p-spot, c-spot, and g-spot, it did get to be a bit too much with the “spot” names. That’s just more of a personal annoyance though.
One of the neatest aspects of this book is the yoga positions. After each chapter, depending on the thing that it was talking about, it will show you different yoga positions for you and your partner to pursue. These yoga positions are meant to be done as actual yoga, but if you wanted, you could probably do these naked or as sex positions. Even if you do them as yoga, though, the positions have the body touching in intimate places, and if you and your partner are the active type, this is definitely going to serve as foreplay. The boyfriend and I couldn’t do some of the yoga positions, though, so some of them may be over what the skill level of the average person is.
Overall, the book has a lot of good information, but the text just doesn’t move through the book quickly enough. It ends up feeling a bit boring pretty quickly which is disappointing as I think there is some good information in this book. However, if you have the interest in new age solutions or the patience to tough it out and enjoy it, I do think there’s some good information to be learned from this book. Thanks to FunWares for sending me this sex book for my Touch Me There! book review.
