Tantus Hurra Cane Review

Tantus Hurra Cane Review

Another adventure into the kinky world of impact play, the Hurra Cane is one of Tantus’ latest spanking and “‘pain” implements. Made entirely of silicone, the Hurra Cane offers a cane – and an insertable dildo – all in one. The entire Hurra Cane is made of silicone through-and-through – with no interior plastic or metal material. The handle has a diameter of about 1.5″ with a length of 6″ while the cane portion has a diameter of 0.4″. The entire cane is 22″ in length.

Unlike many Tantus toys (and like most Tantus’ kink line), the packaging for the Hurra Cane is very minimal. The Hurra Cane comes with a small tag attached to the end of the handle with basic information, and that’s it. Granted, that’s likely all you’ll need to know, too.

The Hurra Cane isn’t a “cane” – not really. Instead of being a rigid, cylindrical piece of material like most canes, the Hurra Cane is made of firm – but extremely flexible – silicone through and through. The handle will stand firm and won’t bend, but the rest of the Hurra Cane’s length is entirely flexible and wiggly. Not just slightly – no. The entire Hurra Cane will bend back into itself, curl into a rope-like circle, and more. This “Hurra Cane” isn’t really much of a cane at all. I’d consider it more of a silicone dragon tail or a silicone whip. So keep that in mind before purchasing. The Tantus product photos can be pretty misleading.

Tantus Hurra Cane Review

THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER TOY! NO PART OF THIS IS A BEGINNER TOY. I’m not super fond of using caps on a regular basis like that, but it’s a HUGE part of using the Hurra Cane. No part of it is friendly for beginners. The handling requires some serious practice. The resulting sting, when used improperly, is way more intense than almost all canes and can easily leave welts or cuts. This is definitely not a toy to dabble with.

So that’s the thing about the Hurra Cane. It’s unwieldy as eff. It’s harder to aim than a flogger. Even harder to aim than a dragon tail or whip. It’s not an easy toy to play with. The silicone “cane” of the cane has a decent amount of heft to it, and it’s wiggly and bouncy (like silicone tends to be), so it doesn’t always fall in a predictable pattern. Even when I finally have it down to something manageable, it goes and flies outside of my expected pattern.

So when you’re wielding this thing, be aware this is not a cane for precision. Not at all. You can try, but it just doesn’t fall like a whip or a cane does. For that reason, I highly recommend that you play with the Hurra Cane on broader, safer areas. The butt would be an acceptable one (if you hide the testicles if you’re playing with a penis-owning partner). The upper back would be another. You may be able to get away with the fronts of the thighs as well.

There are basically two ways to use it that I’ve found. You can stand next to your bent-over partner and attempt to use it like a regular cane. Instead of a regular cane, though, where you use the length of the cane as the impact point, you’ll want to aim to use the end of Hurra Cane as the primary impact point. Do NOT let this bad boy wraparound. It will hurt. It will hurt a lot. Especially on a sensitive area like the testicles where you may not have meant to let the tip hit, that might be the end of your scene if you accidentally land a blow there. This is not a toy to be messed with.

Alternatively, I’ve found that it works best (for me) with a flogger-like movement. Standing behind the bent-over butt, you “swish” the cane from side-to-side much like a flogger. Hold Cane on left-side of body with one hand, swish it to the other while letting the tip of the cane hit the butt. Now cane is on right-side of body while still in the same hand. Then swish it to the other side of the body again, letting the tip hit the butt again. I can manage to stick within a 4″ square of a target with this type of movement. Anything impacting the swish, though, from a chair next to your right or left side or the cane accidentally tugging on a fold of your dress will mess up the next swing and make it unpredictable. It’s a fussy toy to deal with.

The Hurra Cane doesn’t feel like a soft, gentle toy either. Expect a targeted, intense sensation with every strike of the Hurra Cane. With very gentle swings, it can feel closer to a thick “thump” that plops onto the skin, but with any speed to the swings, it can start feeling like a sharp, stinging pain wherever the tip of the Hurra Cane lands. The sharp and stinging can be downright insane if the handler accidentally miscalculates and allows the Hurra Cane to wrap around. It’s much worse than flogger wrap-around.

Now with all of that said, is it worth dealing with the Hurra Cane?

First off, the Hurra Cane is entirely made of silicone. Unlike every flogger, whip, and cane out there, this toy can be gathered up, put into a pot of boiling water, and sterilized between partners. This is a huge bonus if you tend to play between multiple partners – or just want to make sure that your toys are always squeaky clean for safety. Especially when you consider that the handle of the Hurra Cane was made to be insertable,

Second off, the Hurra Cane just looks NEAT. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another impact toy that looks exactly like it. If you’re one of those people who loves being stared at in the dungeon – this is a toy for you. It has a decent reach to it (so it requires a bit of room), and it produces a whole lot of a stinging sensation from your bottom without much of a workout on the top’s part.

Third off, while the Hurra Cane is a terrible choice if your bottom isn’t into pain, there are a lot of bottoms who love the sharp sting of a whip or the targeted pressure of a dragon tail. You can manage that with this impact toy. It’s not for those who prefer spanking – but doing so softly or for minimal pain. This is a toy for those who say “I’m a pain slut and love stinging pain!” That’s what the Hurra Cane lends itself best to – and honestly, most of the Tantus impact toys tend to produce a similar stinging sensation.

Fourth off, good luck breaking this bad boy. It’s a cane made entirely from silicone. Short of snipping off part of the cane on accident (such as if it’s caught under a chair and you go to trip to pull it out from the chair), you’re just not going to break it. You can hit as hard as you want. You can twist it, turn it into a pretzel, and step on it. It doesn’t care. Unless you intentional try to break this cane (or again, do something drastic like accidentally snip it in half), your cane will still be a cane. Because of its unique design, the Hurra Cane is designed to hold up to pretty much any hit you put it through.

As the final point, it’s worth remembering that the Hurra Cane is also designed to be an insertable. The textured “handle” of the Hurra Cane lends itself well as an insertable toy – something that very few canes out there can claim. In addition to being insertable, since the entire cane is sterilizable, it actually CAN be an entirely safe toy to use with multiple partners – and you can even sterilize the “cane” part itself after use in case bodily fluids made it further than expected.

Tantus Hurra Cane Review

When to comes to the insertable sensation, I wasn’t really fond. In a pinch, you can definitely use the Hurra Cane’s handle for insertable play. However, the handle is extremely textured (which isn’t really my favorite), but more importantly, the handle is only about six inches long. When partnered with the fact that the “base” of the handle would actually be a long, squishy silicone tail, there’s nowhere to actually “hang on” the dildo unless you cut off an inch or two of the dildo’s length in order to have room to actually use and push the dildo handle into the person. So it turns the dildo into a 4″ dildo – which is even smaller. In a pinch, if you both are extremely turned on and it seems like a great idea, have at it! It has an intensely textured experience (and can be a pain to clean afterwards because of it), but I’ll likely just keep another dildo nearby if I think the play will go that way.

That all being said, I’m wondering what would happen if Tantus chose to someday make a “traditional cane” – with a strong metal or something as the interior while the exterior was covered with their silicone – similar to how some silicone vibrators are made. The Hurra Cane isn’t that toy, but if Tantus continues to make BDSM toys, I’d love to see what they could do with a “traditional” cane. The world could use more of those – especially ones that can be truly sterilized.

As mentioned previously, the Hurra Cane is pretty simple to clean. It’s made of an entire, long piece of silicone – which makes it a breeze to clean up. Use warm water and anti-bacterial soap for regular cleanings, and if you have a large pot, you can get away with boiling this flexible, silicone cane as well. For storage, the cane can likely be stored loosely curled up in a drawer, but you might consider storing it laid flat and straight to increase the lifespan of your Hurra Cane. Otherwise, the Hurra Cane is extremely easy to care for, and it will require little storage consideration – especially compared to other whips and floggers.

Do you want to show off in the dungeon or to your partner with a unique, creative toy? Do you want some of the fun of a difficult-to-master impact toy like a whip – but without the requirement for space? Do you want to provide a unique sensation that’s not matched by a paddle, flogger, or whip? Then all of those reasons might be a reason you’d want the Hurra Cane to play with. It’s not a toy to take lightly, but if you’re experienced and want to provide a unique sensation with a unique toy, it could be the perfect choice for you. Thanks to Tantus for providing this silicone BDSM cane for my Hurra Cane review.
