The Tantric Karma is a new rabbit vibrator designed and produced by California Exotics. At about eight inches in length with a diameter of slightly under two inches, the Tantric Karma is made of silicone and features independently controlled sensations in both the shaft and the clitoral portion. This rabbit vibrator, which is available in both a pink or purple color, requires four AAA batteries to work.
The packaging for this pink or purple sex toy is pretty standard California Exotics packaging. It comes in a see-through, plastic box. Inside this box, the rabbit vibrator sits in a plastic tray. This tray slides out easily to get access to the vibrator. Keep in mind that this plastic box isn’t the most sturdy, though, and it really won’t work for long-term storage of this vibe. As for the design of the packaging, though, the Tantric Karma comes in adorable packaging that’s pretty impressive.
The Tantric Karma has a very simplistic design. It really is designed like most rabbit vibrators. It is made from silicone material, and you’ll find that the material tends to have a bit of a draggy sensation to it. With that in mind, I definitely recommend using external lubricant for comfort. Along with that, you can easily feel the “pearls” underneath the surface of the vibrator that the rabbit sex toy uses to rotate. These pearls are not really “attached” to the center, so you can feel them move around with your hands if you push them around, but you can’t feel them during use. The clitoral portion does have some little “antennae” protruding off of it which makes for a fluttering sensation. Aside from the antennae, though, which are very flexible, the clitoral portion is not flexible at all. It pretty much stays exactly where the manufacturers designed it to stay, so don’t expect it to bend too much during use. Depending on how you like you to use your vibrator, this could be great. After all, it means that it will provide a lot of pressure clitorally, but at the same time, if it doesn’t fit your anatomy too well, this could be uncomfortably tight against your body.
This purple rabbit vibrator requires four AAA batteries to work. These four batteries are inserted in the base of the vibe. The base easily twists off, and once you have it twisted off, there are little diagrams inside the battery chamber that show which way the batteries are designed to be inserted. Inserting batteries is simple. It is a bit of a pain to change the batteries if your hands are lubricated since the battery compartment doesn’t have any “gripping” type of material – it’s a slick plastic. So this is not one of those vibrators I’d be happy about if the batteries died mid-use. It requires finding some way to increase the grip on the battery compartment to open up the rabbit to insert the batteries.
There are buttons on the base of the shaft of this sex toy that will control exactly how the Tantric Karma functions. To be honest, I find the control system to be a bit extraneous. There are four buttons – two buttons control the shaft while two buttons control the vibrations of the clitoral portion. One button of each turns the part on, and then the other button allows you to cycle through the only-two settings that each part includes. This seems like an excess of buttons. I would have rather have had just two buttons – and you could press each button three times to cycle through mode 1, mode 2, and off. Having two buttons to control just two separate modes for each part of the vibrator seems a bit excessive.
However, aside from that personal nitpick, the buttons themselves are easy to push down and make it easy to control the vibrator. They push down nicely, and they don’t make any noises when pressed either. They don’t require too much effort to push down, and even with fully lubricated hands, it’s no big deal to control the vibrator. The controls are in a good spot, too, and I’ve never had issues with the vibrator changing settings when I hadn’t intended it.
As previously stated, the Tantric Karma has two different settings for both the clitoral vibrations and the shaft rotations. It has a “low” and a “high” for each. To be honest, this is much below “par” of most standard rabbit vibrators, and most standard ones usually include at least three settings for each aspect.
The vibrations in the clitoral portion are alright. They really are designed to be felt through the antennae that the clitoral arm has. They don’t seem to be designed to be felt by pressing the full clitoral arm up against your body. The vibrations themselves are relatively buzzy, and they don’t feel very intense by themselves. Instead, they feel more intense through the fluttering of the antennae, but at the same time, if the fluttering sensation doesn’t work for you (I prefer pressure, for example), this means that the clitoral arm may not be a good choice for you.
The rotations in the shaft aren’t quite as powerful as I’d like. Because of the freeform rotating beads, it’s relatively easy for the beads to jam – especially if you have strong vaginal muscles. This means that you may not get the rotations and the pleasure you had originally planned on. However, if you don’t tighten your muscles, the rotation is large enough to be felt. It doesn’t hit the g-spot, but it does create pleasurable sensations.
As for the noise that it makes, the Tantric Karma is a bit louder than most standard rabbit vibrators. Because of the freeform internal beads, you can hear a rattling/clicking noise as the vibrator rotates. This isn’t usually quite as loud in other rabbit vibrators. The sound is definitely deadened when the rabbit vibrator is inserted, but it still can easily be heard in the same room, and depending on your living situation, it could be heard outside of a closed door.
To clean this waterproof vibrator, you’ll want to use warm water and antibacterial soap. As it’s waterproof, you don’t have to be too careful about where you get the water. For storage, I recommend some sort of storage bag or plastic baggie to keep the vibrator from getting hair of fuzz on it. However, the silicone is a pretty slick type of silicone, and it doesn’t seem to pick up too much. When it comes to lubricant, and I definitely recommend you use some, water-based lubricants tend to work best. Silicone-based lubricants could injure the material of the vibrator.
Overall, the Tantric Karma rabbit vibrator isn’t one that I can recommend to too many people. I’d love to see it have more clitoral vibration strength and more resilient rotations. I’d also love to see a different control system as well as a different system for the beads. However, as the rabbit vibrator is made from silicone, if you think you’ll like the fluttering of the clitoral arm and don’t think the rotation thing will be an issue, the Tantric Karma is definitely a very-functional sex toy, and you may find that it’s the perfect choice for you.
