The Packaging

UPDATE JULY 2022: The “Secrets of a Supersexpert” Book appears to be discontinued. This sex help book review remains as a reference for anyone who’s interested. While you’re here, why not check out my BDSM advice, femdom advice, BDSM Scenes Step by Step, and Should I Buy a Fleshlight?

The Sex In the Shower Single Locking Suction Handle is a waterproof handle that is intended to make water-fun easier to do. Since bathtubs and showers can end up being slick and difficult to get grip, the Sex in the Shower series (manufactured by Sportsheets) tries to make that easier. Other Sex in the Shower products also can help with this. The handle is made from white, strong plastic while the bottom of the handle has a black, industrial-size suction cup. There is no “Sex in the Shower” or other wording on the handle which makes it very discreet.

The packaging for the Sex in the Shower Single Locking Suction Handle is pretty basic. It’s basically a white box with the handle stuck inside. There are picture-included instructions on the side of the box that lets you know how to put it up. Along with that, there’s a small booklet on the inside of the box that shows other Sex in the Shower products for purchase. This cardboard box can be used for storage when the handle is not in use, but really, the handle doesn’t need any storage. The neat thing about the handle is that it looks white and clinical, so you could easily pass this off as being something you need for help getting out of the bathtub (or for elderly visitors.)

The handle itself

The handle is extremely easy to put up. The handle basically splits into two. To place it on the wall, you just stick it up to the wall with one of the sides of the handle pulled down at a 90 degree angle. From there, you press the suction cup firmly onto the wall then pull that handle back to make a full handle. It will pull the suction cup in and make more pressure. To release the handle, you just pull that half back to the 90 degree angle. This holds the handle firmly to the surface that you attached it to.

We seemed to have the best luck getting the handle to stay still if the surface was completely smooth and dry. If there was any water, the handle tended to slip around a bit. If there is some texture, it won’t hold on as strongly. If you have shower tiles (we have a smooth surface), you need at least four inches to hang this. If there is a curve (like on the sides of a bathtub), it can be a bit hard to get the handle to stick firmly to the surface as well.

The instructions on how to set it up

So what are some different uses for the Sex in the Shower Single Locking Suction Handle? Well, of course, you can use it for sex in the shower. Having this handle allows for your partner (or you) to have a comfortable grasp that will give you enough stability to push back (or forward) for leverage during sex. Plus, it can be difficult to keep your balance in the middle of a slick tub, so if you have this handle, you have the ability to hold onto something and make yourself a lot more stable.

Something else we enjoyed doing was taking waterproof handcuffs into the shower. From there, you could put both cuffs on then use the connector in the middle to connect the cuffs around the handle itself. This would mean that your cuffed partner would be stuck to the handle itself.

Showing how it opens to attach to the wall

In fact, if you have difficult getting out of the shower (or standing up from a slick bathtub after a bath), the Sex in the Shower Single Locking Suction Handle can help with that as well. It ends up fastening comfortably against the wall, so you can end up getting some leverage wherever you need it – whether that be in the bathtub, kitchen, or even living room.

The neat thing about this suction cup is that it will attach for virtually any smooth surface. It easily attaches to my bookshelf, my desk, my kitchen counter, and any other smooth surface. Because the suction cup is made to be so industrial, it also doesn’t let go. Plus, since it’s just white and doesn’t scream “sex”, you could even use this if your grandparents enjoy coming over but have a difficult time getting up from an extra-plushy couch or a sinking seat. So it has a lot of uses outside of just the bedroom which always makes the purchase much easier to make.

So did it stick? Surprisingly, yes. I was expecting it to have more of a problem sticking, but the problem I had was getting it UNstuck. There’s a little black tab off the side of the suction cup to help relieve the pressure and get it unstuck, but it was amazingly stuck to the surface. Even my full strength ended up never getting it unstuck, so just using it for sex (or getting help up) will work perfectly with this suction handle. I’m amazed by how strong the suction cup is.

For cleaning, this just needs to be wiped down with water (and possibly) some soap. It really shouldn’t need much cleaning. Just make sure to put it away dry to help it live its longest lifespan. Any lubricant near the suction cup will make it more slippery, and it won’t hold as well. For storage, it can just store by itself or in the original box.

This Suction Handle works amazingly for water use or for non-water use. It holds up quite a bit of weight, sticks perfectly, and is completely discreet so it can be used for non-sex uses as well.
