The Novelty Crime Scene Kit is a cute and playful kit to allow you to fully act out a roleplay. Sold by TabuToys adult toys, this kit provides the “realism” that you could want with your roleplay. Featuring 5 bright yellow evidence markers, outline chalk, and 100 feet of “Caution Crime Scene Do Not Enter” plastic tape, this gives you the beginnings of what you’d need to make your own crime scene.
The packaging for this is pretty simple. It’s packaged in blister-type packaging. Luckily, it’s not the “annoying” type of that, so it opens up pretty easily, and you can easily remove all of the items in the packaging. Because of how the packaging is, though, you really can’t repackage the items, so you’ll have to find some other way to store your items if you want to keep them around for long-term.
It might seem like a Novelty Crime Scene Kit is an odd choice for an item on a sex toy store. However, it’s not nearly as odd as you’d think. If I was going to role play, I’d want things to be as realistic as possible. For me, that would include setting up the scene as well as having all the right props. If I wanted to play a police officer, I’d have a pretend “transgression” that my partner had done, and I’d want to make sure to have the cuffs and the nightstick to make things seem more real. Using the Novelty Crime Scene Kit gives me the ability to make the surroundings seem realistic as well.
As a general whole, the entire kit goes well together. You’ll have to try and find some work-arounds if you plan on using this kit indoors because of the chalk, but for the most part, as long as you have a good setting idea in mind, the Crime Scene Kit from TabuToys really helps bring your ideas and setting to life. This can help you and your partner become more involved in the roleplay that you’re doing.
For the Evidence Chalk included in the kit, you’ll want to keep in mind that it can’t be used indoors or on carpet. So if you plan on doing something inside for your roleplay, you won’t really be able to use the chalk. If you have a private deck or somewhere outside, though, and your partner will be coming home “into” the roleplay, you can use the chalk to draw outside to help set the scene before they make it inside. The chalk draws like most average chalk, and it shows up nicely on pavement.
The Crime Scene Tape works pretty simply too. You just use the tape to “tape off” any areas that you want taped off. For sexual uses, you also could use it for bondage, but be VERY VERY careful not to tie anything too tightly, and make sure you have scissors easily handy because the plastic-ness of the tape will tighten up very quickly and be hard to unknot. The coloring is vibrant, though, and it looks very realistic to the “Do Not Enter” crime scene tape that you see in movies and on TV.
The Evidence Markers are five, small markers that easily stand up on their own. They will fall over if something pushes them over (like a strong breeze), but for the most part, they stand up pretty well, and they can easily be used to mark off any evidence. So if you want a lay a dildo around and “arrest” your partner for obscenity, the little evidence markers will easily stand up next to them.
Overall, the little Crime Scene Kit is totally cute, and it adds a whole new level of “real-ness” to any type of detective/interrogative/police roleplay you want to do. It takes a bit more effort, but if you want the scene to play out exactly how you have it in your mind, this Crime Scene Kit gives you some of the basics that you’ll need to make your basic setting.
